Today, Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) and former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani crossed a Writers Guild of America picket line for a joint appearance on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. who cares, we know ALL republicans have turned on hard working Americans. nothing to see here, move along.

  2. Anacher Forester says:

This is not news. Ya can’t spend all of your time in bed with big business and expect to get any love from labor. Republicans have spent decades busting unions while giving occasionally lip service to a specific union when politically expedient.

One could always be of the opinion that VAV and gin have no idea what they’re trying to talk about here, what the WGA is on strike over, or who the other players in this situation are.

McCain would prostitute his mother for one vote.

  11. b40 says:

McCain and Guillani seem like inseparable twins lately. I can’t imagine that in McCain’s twisted mind he would even consider Rudy for VP…would he?

Talk about shooting yourself in the foot. Of course the other rumored VP, LIEberman, isn’t any better.

i’m only tell you this once: stay away from the drugs.

  15. The Republic of Stupidity says:

Well, if I was talking out of my butt, it only to make sure you understood, fool. And apparently you did.

I still doubt if you have any real idea of what this is about, and that’s your problem. If you’re too lazy to do your own reading, or too STUPID to understand what you read, don’t blame me.

  16. scytherius says:

People keep voting for Repugs. Maybe they will change as they start to go hungry and realize we are NOT protected as a nation. But I guess as long as they have their pick-em-up trucks and can vote against “fags” they’ll think everything will be ok.

    C’mon…

    1. McCain is bat shit crazy.

    2. Giuliani as Cheney, JR would be his best role since he last put on a dress.

You can bet your ass that every Republican Presidential candidate for the foreseeable future will have a “Cheney.”

bert, the writers are being ripped off on internet rights. simple as that. Unions exist to allow workers to earn what they work for, rather than letting the fatcats steal whatever they want. Because fatcats, mostly GOP pigs, will steal rather than work for a living.

  19. the Lone Voice of Reason says:

I was a Union guy for 15 years, so was my mom, this always pisses me off. In my state, John Edwards refused to cross a picket line, and Detroit Mayor “having an affair and lying in court about it” Kirkpatrick got mad at him.

  20. the Lone Voice of Reason says:

I think the writers make something like 26 cents or so off of the amount of a dvd, and they sell for what? Like 20 bucks. Greed Greed Greed.

  21. Jeremy in Denver says:

For some odd reason, I had thought VA Voter was a moderate conservative here to discuss issues…then these last couple of threads have shown that either I had mistaken VA Voter for some other poster or he miss-represented himself.

Unions exist to make sure that the workers get the money and other compensation they’re entitled to. This is in stark contrast to the vast majority of the workforce. My wife, for instance, made $9.00 an hour as an RTV Coordinator, that being a warehouse position that is responsible for making the company not lose money on defective merchandise. Her position entitled her to $13+ an hour, but she was absolutely forbidden to ask about other workers pay-rates. Information is power, but in the corporate world, the ideal situation for management is to have all the power, and the worker has none. The company subsequently eliminated all RTV positions shortly after closing half its stores, then about 9 months later, fired _all_ its workers and closed all its stores.

    {Jeopardy Style} What is CompUSA {\Jeopardy Style}

This is Republican economics. Some fat ****er (rhymes with plucker) by the name of Carlos Slim (GAG!) in Mexico is damn-filthy-rich right now. My wife is on Unemployment. And the job-market sucks. $6.85/hr, and that’s only because Colorado mandated minimum wages above the federal standard. That’s what they want to pay you.

Less, if the fat GOP jerks could get away with it.

Anyway, that’s my rant. Unions have been demonized for years over their unified workers approach. THere were rumors that CompUSA employees were going to try to unionize. Maybe that’s why CUSA shut down — once their employees unionized, they figured it’d be too hard to screw them anymore. May CompUSA rot in hell where they belong…doubly for that jerk Carlos Slim.

What a surprise–the disciples of Ronnie Raygun, union buster extraordinaire, trampling on workers!
