Unions exist to make sure that the workers get the money and other compensation they’re entitled to. This is in stark contrast to the vast majority of the workforce. My wife, for instance, made $9.00 an hour as an RTV Coordinator, that being a warehouse position that is responsible for making the company not lose money on defective merchandise. Her position entitled her to $13+ an hour, but she was absolutely forbidden to ask about other workers pay-rates. Information is power, but in the corporate world, the ideal situation for management is to have all the power, and the worker has none. The company subsequently eliminated all RTV positions shortly after closing half its stores, then about 9 months later, fired _all_ its workers and closed all its stores.

This is Republican economics. Some fat ****er (rhymes with plucker) by the name of Carlos Slim (GAG!) in Mexico is damn-filthy-rich right now. My wife is on Unemployment. And the job-market sucks. $6.85/hr, and that’s only because Colorado mandated minimum wages above the federal standard. That’s what they want to pay you.

Anyway, that’s my rant. Unions have been demonized for years over their unified workers approach. THere were rumors that CompUSA employees were going to try to unionize. Maybe that’s why CUSA shut down — once their employees unionized, they figured it’d be too hard to screw them anymore. May CompUSA rot in hell where they belong…doubly for that jerk Carlos Slim.

bert, the writers are being ripped off on internet rights. simple as that. Unions exist to allow workers to earn what they work for, rather than letting the fatcats steal whatever they want. Because fatcats, mostly GOP pigs, will steal rather than work for a living.

McCain and Guillani seem like inseparable twins lately. I can’t imagine that in McCain’s twisted mind he would even consider Rudy for VP…would he?

You can bet your ass that every Republican Presidential candidate for the foreseeable future will have a “Cheney.”

They’ve already got one, it’s called the GOP.

Talk about shooting yourself in the foot. Of course the other rumored VP, LIEberman, isn’t any better.
