Fox conservatives sound off on ‘white women.’»

On Fox News Sunday today, the Fox “all stars” discussed the possibility of Hillary Clinton being chosen as a vice president. Bill Kristol argued that Clinton would not be a valuable vice presidential pick because she lacks support beyond the “Democratic establishment and white women.” The “establishment” can be ignored, Kristol argued, but “white women are a problem.” He added, “But we all live with them.” “Not me,” said Juan Williams. Brit Hume chimed in, “For the record, I like white women.” “I know, I shouldn’t have said that,” Kristol concluded. Watch it:

BTW, while I know it’s still too early for the results, I have to applaud progressives around the nation for its efforts to derail the clinton election machine. This country doesn’t need another 4-8 years of triangulating politics, or giving republicans the benefit of every deal.

  17. Jackie Says:

This is really to much information as now these guys are coming out of the closet. As for woman well we’re sister regardless of color but if you don’t like woman then you must prefer men. As for Brit Hume he had to speak up as he got his job because his wife gave it to him. With Mrs. Hume, Brit would be jobless. Right Brit you don’t bite the hand that feeds you. Now these sickos should join up with Tweety and O’Reilly. That would be a comedy show with the highest ratings.
All the idiots, racist, woman haters and closet people all together to air their sick views representing their Republican Party. Maybe Ann would join in too.
I wonder what Laura Bush thinks of the comment about White woman isn’t she white?

I mentioned to a big Obama supporter two things:

1 - His saying Reagan brought the country together

2 - His cozy relationship with AIPAC.

His answers were (1) On he didn’t say that, he meant Reagan was a great communicator. This is out of the mouth of a so-called “liberal”. Reagan, who started this free market insanity, busted Unions, Iran-Contra, and favored the rich. And (2) He said, “Obama will pull the rug out from AIPAC when he gets in”. This is Naive beyond description. EVERY candidate that has a chance is being endorsed by AIPAC. O-Bomb-ya says to get out of Iraq because it is such a miserable failure, but bombing Iran is not out the question.

We are being duped again. McCain or Romney vs Obama or Clinton. More wars on the horizon.

  22. Marie Says:

I, too, think Obama can handle the Repugnicans.
Clinton, unfortunately, is so polarizing (undeservedly) that the Repugs will remain ceaseless in keeping the nation divided. Even people who like her and fondly remember the nineties are eager to move forward and not revert back to the last decade.
That hope that Obama touts is real; he does offer a change and I think he can have a positive effect on the nation, not only at home, but internationally as well.

2 - His cozy relationship with AIPAC.

I’m tired of seeing this and not challenging it. Why do you think you can make blanket statements like #2 above to justify saying that it will automatically result in endless wars.

Sorry but that just don’t fly. I hate the fact that the relationship exists too but it don’t mean they will take us to war because of it….necessariily

gw bush so far is the only one that had these close relationships that fell for it and went to war on thier behalf.

Even his dad resisted, as did rayguy…..damn that was hard to say but mostly true except his dad did attack just not occupy…..he just didn’t swallow……….

so how in the hell do you get from bill clinton to hillary and obama resulting in endless war…..didn’t happen under Bill….

Well, it’s true. Reagan was a great communicator. He was an actor, for pete’s sake - of course he was a great communicator.

Great communicator is not the same as great President. Adolf Hitler was a great communicator, too - that doesn’t mean he was good for Germany.

  26. screech Says:

Simply put, Obama is the best alternative out there. In fact, he is the only alternative. The first thig that has to be dealt with is undoing the harm Bush has foisted on this nation. 41. Don in Texas Says:

I, too, have reservations about Senator Obama’s plan to “reach out” to Republicans. Those bastards have done nothing to seek accommodation with Democrats for decades. They have sought to defame and derail us at every turn (Remember the pathetic Clinton impeachment?)

I am reminded of the parable about the scorpion who persuaded the frog to give him a piggyback ride across the pond. The frog was reluctant, to say the least, but the scorpion promised he would not sting the frog. Half way across the water, the scorpion slammed his stinger into the frog. Stunned, the frog asked, “Why, oh why, did you do that? Now both of us will drown!” The scorpion replied, “I couldn’t help it: it is my nature.”

It is the nature of Republicans to screw over Democrats — and the American people — at every turn. I am very uneasy at Obama’s plan to reach out to them.

Senator Clinton, on the other hand, has looked into the fiery eyes of the Republican beast. She knows exactly who and what they are. She bears the scars from two decades of battles and she — and her husband — have beaten them time and time again.

Since John Edwards, who promised to give no quarter to the Republcian money barons, has dropped out, my support goes to the Senator from the Empire State of New York.

  42. Brain From Planet Arous Says:

What I find contradictory is that so-called liberals jump up and down, waving arms when Exxon and Lockheed lobby Right-Wing politicians, but are silent with AIPAC’s just as large sums of money to Democrats and republicans.

I also DO NOT like my tax dollars supporting Zionist ideals on Foreign Policy.

    Comment by toasterhead — February 3, 2008 @ 12:44 pm

Well, the portion he can peel off are the Black Evangelicals. The problem is, that to do so, he has to throw gays off his bus (and he made a pretty good start at doing just that when he signed Donnie McClurkin on to that little tour last year).
Obama won’t make any inroads into the White Evangelicals because they’ll back whichever of the GOPers gets the nod. McCain’s sucked up enough to the Evangelical tit/ass that he can still get that vote. Romney’s “Mormon problem” won’t be that much of one (I live in Alabama and I’ve seen more signs of support for Romney than any other GOP candidate*); Mormons are, for the Evangelicals, the “new Catholics”, and we’ve all seen how tied together the Evangelicals and Catholics have been in the last few Presidential election cycles. Huckabee? Well he IS an Evangelical. No way in hell that he’ll get less than 95% of the White Evangelical vote in November if he’s the GOP nominee (I would say that he’d get the full 100% but every group’s got its dissenting voices); if Huckabee has the GOP nomination, he could easily undo Obama’s hard-fought “gains” with Black Evangelicals (in which case Obama will have that McClurkin problem with the LGBT community). (Ron Paul won’t get the nomination so it’s pretty pointless considering him, but on the very off chance he should, the whole of the Evangelical community, Black AND White, will probably sit out the election, unless some strong Evangelical name launches a late 3rd party effort.)

*By signs of support, I mean the type in people’s yards and on their car bumpers, not the stuff that’s anonymously slapped onto utility poles.

    My Nature…?
I think the Who pretty much summed that up with “I am the Sea”. Bashing isn’t my thing. Questioning is.

Get over it. I mispelled it first

    Comment by justasking — February 3, 2008 @ 7:07 pm

yes, justassing, all those posts, and you’ve yet to make a point of any salience. some things never change. we don’t need bartlebee, we have you for irrelevance and emptiness.

  101. dbadass Says:

You took the time to type that?

  102. Nevar Says:

    Old and in the way.
I’ll happily step aside and watch you trip headlong into the ditch.
And walk across on your youthful springy carcass.
    Hope you don’t mind.

  103. Nevar Says:

    Damn I’m good!

Two repartees, to a single post, in a row, from the same poster, who wasn’t even directly addressed!

A round of Geritol for everyone!

Perhaps you should just sit back and see if the eejit can do a bartlebee and just carry a conversation with itself. It’s only up to two comments, but you never know . . .

Oh, I’m sorry, I didn’t ask you about the path you’re walking down..

    What is it?

    Cowpath?
    Path of no return?

No one has to stalk dummies around here, because you all just wander in on your own.

    Comment by gummitch

gummitch - that has to be one of the best comebacks I’ve ever read. You rock, brother.

  111. Cats r Flyfishn Says:

dbadass, Nevar - if only the troll new :) Ha!

And to add to an above comment, the white Evangelies will NOT be voting this November. They’ve already been told to stay home or write-in Hucklebee.

  112. Cats r Flyfishn Says:

And yes, I do take offense to men trashing women in public. If Fox News finds white women so problematic, then Ann Coulter along with countless other white women will never appear on this network. That should take care of the problem of “white women”.

  113. scytherius Says:

There was a time when I didn’t want Fox commentators to get any air time. Of late, I have been wishing they would be on 24/7 in every living room in the country. They are SO out of touch and SO ignorant and SO buffonish that the country needs to see them for exactly what they are. Keep talking morons!

  114. Cats r Flyfishn Says:

ja - gummitch would excuse my “typo”. I know it should be “knew” and not “new”.

  115. Nevar Says:

    To who?
    Comment by justasking

    Your friends…

  116. Nevar Says:

    Nice deflection, Nevar.

What is this deflection stuff all about?
    Deflection from what?
“To who” was your question, I offered an answer.
    WTF is wrong with you?

  117. Nevar Says:

Your bashing me was the deflection.
    Comment by justasking

That’s all I wanted to know.
(No need to get all huffy about it, I was justasking……….)

  118. Nevar Says:

    Old Man Troll!

    Comment by justasking

OK, you win, I’ll go take out my teeth, put them in the jar, and get ready for bed.
Thank you for the afternoons diversion, I hate football…..

    It’s ritualized combat.
Keeps the rabble distracted from the actual atrocities.
    Bread, anyone?

  121. Cactus Jack1 Says:

I am so tired of the Daily Kos and its pro Obama site, its really getting old.

It would be nice if this site had a daily open thread that wasn’t pro anything or subject guided.

I usually read the front page but have been posting to a particular board rooted since 1997. I dabbled on Kos but I can’t stand it anymore.

  122. Zooey Says:

Cactus Jack, TP has an open thread each weekday morning called “Think Fast.”

  123. republicans hate facts Says:

    All alcoholics think that.

  124. republicans hate facts Says:

    I’m 40, but I could pass for 39 easy.
    Comment by CaptainMantastic — February 3, 2008 @ 9:37 pm

You’re too CONSERVATIVE, you could pass as 14 EASY! JUNIOR! ;)

  125. RUCerious Says:

Looks like weekends are slow as hell on TP, what with all three threads up.
Football is like chess, except with pads and lots of violence.
Not that I have’n't seen some violent chess games…

  126. republicans hate facts Says:

I must admit that, after tipping a few, I am starting to understand you.
    Comment by CaptainMantastic — February 3, 2008 @ 11:00 pm

That you have the maturity of a 14 year old? A 14 year old would think so! ;)

  128. norightbrainleft Says:

Geez, people…get a sense of humor! If Fox News said the sun is hot, most of the commenters here would accuse them of sexual harrassment. And if they made a joke about it, they would be bigots and fascists as well.

  129. JoshDest Says:

*BertConvy..? More like “Bert and Ernie”

“hildebeast” Well, at least she’s not a lying BASTARD like Bush…or a racially ignorant “can bill dance like a brother” Obama.
