All Republican swine”? (see first comment if you haven’t already). This is still the United States right? I will say Republicans do seem to me to look at things in simplistic terms, but apparently there are plenty of discrespectful Democrats who see in black and white also. Mine is the first post that I saw to suggest bashing might not be a great thing. WT? Just more evidence of how badly we need change in Washington, that we need to reach across party lines and that there is an urgency to now. If all we can do is bash till November then I guess McCain will win. Obama needs everyone who can see past the black and white asus silver m3 battery,asus silver m3n battery thinking and bashing to support him whether that be Democrats or Republicans. We do want to see a Democrat in office again eventually don’t we?

Guys guys guys (and gals) psssttt. I’m here to share a little secret. Lieberman has been a Republican for a long long time. His publicist said this to the media. Gore was having trouble on his campaign..the Jewish voters. L wasn’t performing-a dud-undermining Gore. He’s an imformant. They typically “bloom” when there is an even split, and one vote will push it. No one takes him seriously now. His big money man was Bush’s roommate when he ran against Lamont. He went from a B to an F on environmental scorecard (endorsed Cheney oil plan behind closed doors). He’s the worst kind of politician, Fox news loves him though. There are more out there (Miller). Why do you think Bush and Co demand absolute loyalty and cronism? Because they know one long-time pseudo-Republican could get everything. The unspoken rule is no one gets killed, everything else is fair game. (9/11, Iraq-not sure if this holds true anymore). The media doesn’t begin to scratch the surface-they sanitize everything (don’t want to offend viewers or hurt ratings). Folks, it’s dirty. The Bush people pushed this about as far down as you can go (corruption, unethical behavior); so they set a new standard. (e.g. if everyone now speeds 30 miles over, the cop is forced to pull over the 40mph cars now).

The treatment of Lieberman with kid gloves is entirely due to the place he finds himself in in a divided Senate. We don’t have a solid Senate majority yet, one election is not enough to create one.

49-49-2

He has personal veto power on issues the Republicans can muster 49 votes for. Lieberman deciding to caucus with the R’s out of spite would grant them a Majority, and Lieberman deciding to side with the Republicans on any single issue would grant Cheney the deciding vote.

When we’re safely at 52+ Dems, I expect his drop in the gutter to be hindered only by the strong degree of personal loyalty the DLC feels for him… but that’s not the motivation in play right now.

I am glad to hear this. When the dems get a couple more Senate seats in November, they’ll put Joe out in the cold. His profile behind McCain at the podium helps the Dems. McCain and Lieberman are individuals who enjoy opposition. Lieberman can’t lead dems. McCain can’t lead Repubs, let alone the whole country.

Great, but they’ve only gone halfway. It’s time to strip that traitor of his citizenship and send him back to Israel along with a huge invoice demanding immediate repayment for the billions we’ve wasted on them. And then we should give Israel 24 hours to disarm their nuclear programs and respect UN Resolutions 242 and 338 in total. Otherwise they become the pariah that should be dissolved as a country.

Lots of bad information here. Leiberman was not stripped of his superdelegate status when he endorsed McCain. He never had it. He and Bernie Sanders were not superdelegates as they were not Democratic members of the Senate. End of story. Go look at the DNCC website and see how many Senator Superdelegates CT and VT have, and it’s been that way quite a while. (And if you do, you’ll see that CT shows 0 Senators, cause Chris Dodd is listed as a Distinguished Party Leader since he’s a former chairman of the DNC.

This is in response to questions #86 and #88.

I appreciate your disdain for Joe Lieberman. As a registered Connecticut Democrat who voted and campaigned extensively for Ned Lamont, I feel exactly the same way.
However, let me remind you the Connecticut Democrats voted Ned Lamont as the Democratic Primary winner to run against Alan Schlesinger for US Senate, not Joe Lieberman. Joe Lieberman decided to take it upon himself to run as the candidate for the “Connecticut for Lieberman” party. The CT Dems did our part and I wish we could have done more for the party by installing Ned in the Senate.
I know we’re all in agony right now over the Bush Administration and all their cronies and everything they’ve done to us, our reputation and country as a whole… but let’s try and stick together, stay positive and get 100% behind the nominee. I’m really hoping its Barack.

Give me a frickin break. This from someone who supports the GOP where you get punished for saying the wrong thing, let alone “reaching across the isle.”

This is just the beginning for the vile Lieberman. When Dems take a supermajority in the Senate, he will be stripped of all his committee assignments and banished to a seat in a dark back corner so that he can finish his term in obscurity where he belongs.
