He was required by statute to make available to the speaker of the house his determination that –
1 reliance by the US on further diplomatic or other peaceful means alone either A, will not adequately protect the national security of the US against the continuing threat posed by Iraq or B is not likely to lead to enforcement of all relevant UN Security Council resolutions regarding Iraq and
2. acting pursuant to this resolution is consistent with the US and other countries to take the necessary actions against international terrorist and terrorist organizations, including those nations, organizations, or persons who planned, authorized, committed or aided the terrorist attacks that occurred on 9/11/01.

Since he did not certify section 2, as Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11, he is in violation of this resolution. And he knew it all along.

Interesting, isn’t it, that an Attorney General would authorize such an investigation of her own administration? I guess a blow job was just too dangerous to national security for her to, in good conscience, let it go uninvestigated. I wonder what it would take for a Republican Attorney General to agree to such an investigation by a partisan prosecutor with a history of activism for the other party?

Maybe using government resources for partisan electoral purposes? Severe damage to the impartiality of the Justice Department itself? No, that wouldn’t do it.

What would it take for that kind of integrity to show itself in a Republican administration? Any thoughts?
