Actually it does! He scared to death if people starting to talk about him, his crimes, his War Crimes, Scooter Libby, WMD, Mission Acomplished, his statement saying the the US does not torture (which finaly they admited to last week!). Not to mention his economy credentials… I hope they talk about his war criminal over and over again!

I would’nt be surprised. With all Bush presidential papers and WH hard drives, and after plunging the nation into war with Iran (provided a democratic victory)

What I find so damaging about this line of thought is that it asserts political expedience should trump our stated ideals and beliefs. This attitude suggests that short-term goals should be achieved even when they conflict with long-range goals, in the hopes that the damage will be fixed somewhere down the line. That once a precedent, for a general acceptance for a cheapened version of the rule of law has been established, future legislators will one day see the error of their ways, and rein-in the current executive excesses we see today. Human nature suggests that this will never be the case, given the many politically-conflicted representatives and their individual agendas. They see this willful expedience as a gift, and they will make sure to use it, regardless of the long-term effects to the country.

Obama (or Clinton) is a step closer to the White House every time the Chimp opens his piehole (for that matter, Limbaugh, Hannity, Coulter, etc., ad nauseum).

Words have power. They can be used to sue, when one has been defamed. Do you seriously think any court would ever entertain a lawsuit that started with “…And the defendendant did say in a public forum that the plaintiff ‘talked like a toady?’ ”

You’d get your lawyer sanctioned for being a nuisance to the court, for even bringing the case!
