A Rovian flip flop.

A Rovian flip flop.

On CBS Face the Nation yesterday, Karl Rove emphasized his support for Sen. John McCain (R-AZ)’s presidential campaign, saying “Republican grassroots voters” are “already united behind” McCain. Time’s Ana Marie Cox notes that eight years ago, Rove lambasted McCain’s combative style, saying it will prevent him from uniting Republicans:

This is his style. If you’re not with him, he belittles you, he makes fun of you, he disparages you. That’s not the mark of a leader who can unite the party and win the [White House].

Watch it:

This weekend, McCain declared, “Nobody denies he’s [Rove's] one of the smartest political minds in America. … I certainly would be glad to get his advice.”

Hey McCain, make sure you get lots of his math too.

With karl as a guest, maybe they should rename that CBS show to “Deface the Nation”.

Sounds like Turdblossom’s still mad about the time Bush made him take Barney for a walk in the rain, in front of a room full of people…. Oh, wait, he’s not talking about Bush?

  9. Guido OBGYN Lover says:

I guess the police weren’t there to arrest Rove. Maybe Shieffer could have called the cops?

Let’s put Rove, McBomb, Cheney, et al in Iraq for 100 years.

When the time is up, we’ll value their opinions.

That repulsive little pig ought to be in JAIL – not on national television.

    *spit*

  15. whatevah says:

There’s no one else who will keep Rove’s butt out of prison for what he’s done than McBush. Rove’s in a corner now. The master of hypocrisy and double speak is caught on his own hook. Gotta love it.

  16. Zimzone says:

Isn’t this the same porkbutt that had a speech cancelled so he gave it w/o an audience?

Isn’t this the same porkbutt that will take $40K from an educational institution, but not allow anyone to document the words?

Isn’t this the same porkbutt that said, ‘I don’t care who it is, just get me a goddamn christian fundamentalist?

Isn’t this the same porkbutt that won’t respond to a congressional subpoena?

Isn’t this the same porkbutt that lied to the American people?

    Isn’t it?

  17. marlow says:

Jesus. These scumbags sodomized McCain, repeatedly, then left him out back in the dumpster, bleeding. But he just wants more.

  18. The Dogfather says:

I, for one, hope KKKarl and the rest of the BushCo sycophants keep this “I love McCain” revival going as long as possible. The more McCain aligns himself with BushCo and BushCo returns the favor, the more the campaign ads for the dems this summer/fall continue to write themselves…

By God McCain is a True CONstipator.

  20. impeachcheneythenbush says:

McCain is desperately seeking the acceptance of the right wing when he embraces Rove. After all, Rove is the guy who helped (if not outright engineered) the South Carolina smearing of McCain in 2000. And if McCain had won the nomination and won the Presidency in 2000, I don’t believe we’d be in Iraq today. But he decreases his appeal to independents and disaffected Republicans by moving toward the Right. An endless occupation of Iraq and a belligerent stand toward Iran might win him a few votes among the right of the Republican party, but ultimately, it will lead to his defeat in the general election. So if he’s unwise enough to accept Rove’s council, embrace the crazy and phony Christian Right, and move toward neo-con foreign policies, he’s toast.

  21. zuch says:

This weekend, McCain declared, “Nobody denies he’s [Rove’s] one of the smartest political minds in America….

John: You misspelled “highest-ranking crooks and thugs ever to infest the White House.”

    Cheers,

  22. katy says:

haven’t read any comments here… just wanted to put this out:

i’ve heard a very logical theory, between here, C&L, and
AirAmericaRadio, most recently yesterday listening to SAM SEDER…
that mcCAVE is a sacrificial lamb… the repugs know they can’t win
this election and so have resigned to that and have offered up
    mcCAVE to take the fall…

they will regroup and gather strength for ‘12, no doubt…

  23. Brain From Planet Arous says:

Rove…….Speaks double talk from a forked tongue, two sides of his mouth, and from both Chins.

  24. SkepticRising says:

Has anyone noted that Bush, if someone is not with him, belittles and makes fun of and disparages them? Maybe Karl was right – that’s not a mark of a leader.

  25. texaslady says:

Thats McCain who will say anything to not upset the conservative rights. He has not voted 50 times just to not take a stand. Is this the kind we need steering America out of the bush mess?

  26. Cal Malenky says:

And thus begins the return of Karl Rove to the GOP campaign.

  27. 99Luf Balloons says:

We could also perform CITIZEN ARRESTS you know.

As for McBush. He will implode by creating a vacuum sucking up to the rightwing convservo-traitors who know no bounds, and will therefore suck the ever living life out of McBush, and POOF! it will go up in smoke. And then Rom Mittney will step in, after McBush self-destructs.

  28. sacopenapa says:

Excellent! Let this lier, this traitor (Valerie Plame outing!), this war criminal, support MacCocaine! The more endorsment from them to Mac’os the more we know he has only 30% approval! Please Bush, do another photo op with MacCocaine!!!! Please!!!!!!!!!!!!!
