Pointless pundit babble.

During tonight’s Potomac Primary coverage, pundits on various cable networks filled airtime with uninformative chatter. Watch some of it:

Merlin, did you mean “the incredible internets”? Oh, sorry, that administration is in it’s last throws.

    OT – but read this:
A license application filed by the Utah-based company, EnergySolutions, seeks to import low-level radioactive waste
from Italy, process it in Tennessee and then dispose of the waste in Utah.
EnergySolutions’ exploitation of a loophole in our country’s nuclear waste regulatory framework could put the United States on a path to becoming the world’s nuclear waste dump.

At least Obama succeeded at life without his daddy having to purchase said success for him.

Nothing could be further from the truth. The MSM in the way it presents elections & candidates, has a huge influence on who gets elected. One example is the David Gregory flap. You didn’t hear anyone saying that Romney was pimping out his kids, did you?

In poll after poll, in direct interviews, Americans are asking for more coverage of issues, and we’re not getting it. We get what they want us to get, and it’s only going to get worse now that the FCC has ruled that these media corporations can get even bigger and less diverse.

Irrelevant? I propose it’s the opposite.

Looks like the aged Hillary is done! …the inexperienced brotha

Ageism and racism! It really is a clumsy one, isn’t it.

And then it says: Thank God. Something it knows nothing about or it wouldn’t use ageism and sexism to smear people.

Trolls these days… Sigh… This is a particularly mean one. Must not have had any in a long time. Pity…

  22. MCMetal says:

Looks like the aged Hillary is done! Thank God. That’s great news for Republicans as Mc Cain should coast to victory no matter what spin you libs want to spin for the inexperienced brotha!

    Comment by John Kerry — February 12, 2008 @ 10:13 pm

Yeah , McInsane should certainly “excel” in debates against Obama ; especially with that razor-sharp wit of his , that yellow smile , and his inordinate amount of knowledge on the economy
and keeping us in Iraq for 100 years , that 75% of Americans don’t want us to be , even 1 day longer………

  23. Xisithrus says:

you libs want to spin for the inexperienced brotha!
    Comment by John Kerry

Actually I havent spun anything for Obama and lest you forgert he is related to Cheney. You talk about experience, but what experience di Bush have? A few years as Texas governor which only requires a few months work a year? A job thats primarily done by the Lt Governor?

What is McCains experience? During 2000 the swift-boat folks told me he was mentally damaged from his time as a POW and how he worked with the enemy. Are the swift boat people wrong JK?

  24. Xisithrus says:

Max boot seems to think a bellicose old man is the tough guy to go with.

Funny I dont recall Reagan being a bellicose tough guy.

    Whats up with that?

  25. Above the Clouds says:

I’m surprised more of the talking heads don’t ask how Republicans think they are the right ones to clean up Bush’s Republican mess. “Conservatives” can thank Bush and Rove for the destruction of their party and the huge turn-outs Democrats have been enjoying.

Max boot seems to think a bellicose old man is the tough guy to go with.

All anybody needs to know about Max Boot…

    From Wiki:

Boot has been a prominent advocate for neoconservative foreign policy, once describing his own position as support for the use of “American might to promote American ideals” throughout the world.[2] He is a senior fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations, a contributing editor to The Weekly Standard.

Before I cancelled My subscription to the LA Times, I had to hold my nose once a week on the day his column appeared. He is a total ass.

  27. shaun says:

hey jk – see comment #16 – obama will slaughter mccain in november – he seems to be gathering more momentum with each passing day and mccain along with all of his ‘my friends’ will get steamrolled at the end of it all ….can’t wait to see that!!!

  28. Zooey says:

If Obama gets the nomination, he must know that a never-ending stream of the most vile racist attacks will be coming his way.

I shudder to think of it.

  29. 5th Estate says:

It’s so damn obvious with the record turnouts for both sides that the US public is interested in politics like never before (might we see 55% vote in November rather than the usual 51%?)–well since 1950 anyway.
And since the pundits have been bamboozled by polling data and they’ve now adjusted to the fact that they don’t know what the hell is going on but that they are getting ratings, why don’t they talk to actual voters and bloggers instead of amongst themselves?

Oh, right, because then they’d lose their relevance and become mere reporters, not highly-paid analysts with “insider information” and deep insight. Not that the public individual knows any better about what’s going on (I sure don’t) but if asked about a candidate or issue I’m sure I could make any pundit look stupid, and so couyld many other ordinary citizens—for free!

    OH well, roll on November.

Shudder not, sweet Zooey. Obama is not the inexperienced waif that Billary makes him out to be. He is a Black man who survived the streets, and all that that portends! Dressed in the conventional clothes of a politician one does not see his past. I have known more than a few street smart people and they never lost that strength and ability to deal with nasty adversity. Obama will dazzle more than a few, IMO, when the swift ass-holes fling their crap.

This is not 2004, as the voting thus far is showing. The people are not fooled by the Rovian tactics anymore. When the right slings mud it will be like spitting into the wind. Obama will sail above the fray.

    Mark my words on this!

Clinton: Still no congratulations for Obama
    Posted: 10:30 PM ET

Clinton did not acknowledge Obama’s winnings or congratulate him on his victories over the past two nights.

EL PASO, Texas (CNN) – For the second election night in a row, Hillary Clinton failed to acknowledge or congratulate Barack Obama after he won the day in dominating fashion.

On Tuesday in El Paso, hours after Virginia had been called for Obama, she stuck to her “Texas campaign kickoff” message and did not stray from an energetic, Lone Star-themed stump speech. She did mention Obama by name, only to chide his health care plan.

On Saturday night in Richmond, Virginia, Clinton spoke to a crowd of thousands at the state’s annual Jefferson-Jackson dinner, but she ignored Obama’s quartet of blowout primary and caucus wins that day as well (Obama also won the Maine caucuses the next day).

The courtesy of conceding a primary or caucus loss — and then congratulating your opponent — is by no means required. But it has become standard practice during campaign season.

  33. Sachem says:

8 % of Registered Republicans in the Ole Dominion State, the Commonwealth of Virginia voted for Obama today

    Consolidated Potomac Primary Returns Thread
    by: Chris Bowers
    Tue Feb 12, 2008 at 22:30

Update–Huge night for progressive movement: With every precinct coming in with at least a 10% improvement for Edwards over 2006, let me reiterate this point: the new primary voters who are coming out for Barack Obama are also going to result in the first progressive displacement of a centrist, corporate, congressional Democrat via a primary in years. This it it. This is what we have been working for and building for. This is our emerging majority. We finally have the organization, and the voters, and the whole ball of wax. The movement has thoroughly come of age.

    May 17, 1986.

‘A moment I’ve been dreading. George brought his ne’re-do-well son around this morning and asked me to find the kid a job. Not the political one who lives in Florida. The one who hangs around here all the time looking shiftless. This so-called kid is already almost 40 and has never had a real job. Maybe I’ll call Kinsley over at The New Republic and see if they’ll hire him as a contributing editor or something. That looks like easy work.’

“So Hillary or Obama needs 2,025 delegates to win. The superdelegates are roughly 39% of this “magic number” of delegates that are needed to win.

She will lose the support and affections of FOX, MSNBC, American land interests by-and-large, and big-businesses barons! That’s all!! (but not, We The People) p.s. Has Carl Rove ever lost a prediction, like say, winning in an illegally instigated war?

    Comment by John Kerry

I see that the fool tool troll JK dropped by to stink up the place again. It wouldn’t last a minute in a debate with Rachel Maddow. I also see that it is sinking further and further into delusion since it thinks that McCain can beat Obama. I would like a front row seat to watch it’s head explode when Obama wins.

  56. bilbobaggins says:

What is McCains experience? During 2000 the swift-boat folks told me he was mentally damaged from his time as a POW and how he worked with the enemy. Are the swift boat people wrong JK?
    Comment by Xisithrus

You know, that just brought to mind an interesting approach to ads against McCain. How about we run all the attack ads that the Republiscums ran against McCain, making sure that they are identified as Republiscum attack ads. Then say, “Is this who you want as your President, Republicans”?

  57. bilbobaggins says:

If Obama gets the nomination, he must know that a never-ending stream of the most vile racist attacks will be coming his way.
I shudder to think of it.
    Comment by Zooey

And, don’t forget the attacks about his “drug use”. Didn’t you love the NY Times hit piece where, since they couldn’t find any of Obama’s friends who would verify his drug use, they said that maybe he was “exaggerating” his drug use. Now why would Obama do that?

I’m not too worried. Obama is up to the attacks. All he needs to do is to address them head-on, in his calm and articulate manner, and then move on. I think that hysterical racist attack ads against Obama will only go to hurt the Republicans.

  58. Marie says:

The repugs are afraid, very afraid, of Obama. They will surely use the race card, the muslim card, the anti-jewish card and the not-tough-enough card on him.
Obama is not stupid – far from it – he is able to confront those slurs – he won’t be swift-boated – and his message of meeting with our enemies is one that we haven’t heard in 8 years, and we all know how well that one worked.
The repugs have already begun to allege that Obama doesn’t have a foreign policy plan when Obama has articulated his plans and vision. The repugs will speak as one hard-line chorus against Obama, but as long as Obama is able to maintain the populist support, they will lose and they will lose big.

  59. stewarjt says:

Thanks, Pat Buchanan, I hadn’t realized anywhere in the US was anything close to being a hotbed of Marxist thought(Groucho or Karl). As far as Karl Rove and his greased board, I thought the only thing getting greased were his palms.
