Giuliani hits the lecture circuit.

Giuliani hits the lecture circuit.

Politico reports that the Washington Speakers Bureau is now advertising former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani as one of its speakers. From the promotional e-mail:

WSB is honored to announce that Rudy Giuliani, one of the most respected leaders in the world, has returned to Washington Speakers Bureau for exclusive representation.

A visionary leader, Giuliani has always epitomized “grace under pressure,” and nowhere was that more apparent than in his recent bid for the presidency. Giuliani galvanized the electorate by focusing much-needed attention on such issues as security, domestic and international terrorism and securing a future that’s prosperous and beneficial for all Americans.

Giuliani candidly discusses insights from his public and private sector experiences, including transformative lessons in leadership.

    “Giuliani galvanized the electorate…”

    Ummmm…What?

I mean, I like Rudy. He was the greatest mayor in NYC’s history. But he hardly “galvanized the electorate” in his presidential run.

  2. Mary Poplins says:

Why would any one care if this liar is on the lecture circuit.
    Good Riddance to bad rubbish.

  3. profmarcus says:

so, what’s the ante to put this 9/11 ghoul to appear on stage…? $40K…? $60K…? $100K…?

And, yes, I DO take it personally

Ha ha! I wonder who wrote that copy. Probably Rudy himself. Rudy was an asterisk through most of the time he was running.

And Exley, I know you’re excited about the pitchers today but take a deep breath. “Greatest mayor”? What are you, anyway, 25? Helllo? La Guardia?

  5. bilbobaggins says:

    A visionary leader, Giuliani…

Right, he’s so visionary he couldn’t get out of the single digits running for President.

I am not surprised that he has gone right out to attempt to cash in on his run for President. I just can’t believe anyone would pay him to talk to them. His “vision” got him kicked out of the Presidential race.

  6. IgnoranceIsNotBliss says:

    “Giuliani galvanized the electorate….”

    ***snort***

  7. Exley says:

Gummitch, Today is a BIG DAY! (Even though Mets pitchers and catchers don’t report until tomorrow….) Are you a Mariners fan? (I seem to recall that) If so, nice pick up with Bedard….

I only WISH I were 25 again….LaGuardia was a great mayor, no doubt. But if you had seen the disaster NYC had become during the Lindsay-Beame-Koch-Dinkins era and had Rudy really brought that city back, you too would agree that Rudy was perhaps the best mayor in the city’s history.

    Let’s Go Mets!!!!

  8. Exley says:

Correction: “and had seen how Rudy really brought that city back…”

Sorry….Maybe I am too excited about the start of spring training.

  9. shoeless says:

But he hardly “galvanized the electorate” in his presidential run.

    Comment by Exley

Yeah, after spending all that money in the Florida GOP primary, he only got 911 votes.

    bwahahahahaha
    ( breathe)
    bwahahahahaha

  11. robertoroberto says:

Why don’t the Speakers Bureau just flush their money down the toilet? The flushing sound will quite accurately replicate the noise emitted from Rudolph Guilliani.

If i worked at the Speakers Bureau i’d make sure that Guilliani gets paid by the word and i would make for damn sure that the words ‘nine’ and ‘eleven’ don’t count.

Giuliani candidly discusses insights from his public and private sector experiences, including divorces, affairs, under the table cash, alienating his children, lying to NY’ers, kickbacks from Motorola for bad equipment to FDNY, avoiding Bldg 7 on 9/11, and various & sundry other associated misdeeds.

  13. 5th Estate says:

    What egregious drivel!

  14. shoeless says:

    I like Rudy.

    Comment by Exley

    I like the Tin Man.

  15. Tawdry says:

This is Rudy’s last best chance at a money gig. His Princess Bride needs new clothes.

  16. tom says:

Er, I think they meant to say “transvestite lessons in leadership”.

Hey! I’ve used that line in here half a dozen times and no one ever gets it. Thief!

    Sorry. How’s this?

    I like toast.

  19. Exley says:

    Shoeless…

    George Costanza.

  20. shoeless says:

    I mean, I like Rudy.

    Comment by Exley

I’m guessing you aren’t a New York City firefighter.

  21. Tenebrae says:

Right… Rudy focused people’s attention on terrorism and the economy. Like people weren’t thinking about those things BEFORE he ran for president… What a joke!

  22. stewarjt says:

Giuliani galvanized the electorate…behind other candidates! He went wimpering home with his tail between his legs and his face and ass red!

  23. The Dogfather says:

Exley: how can a Mets fan like you idolize George Costanza who used to work for the Yankees???

And BTW, thanks for the Santana thing — thereby guaranteeing that my Nats have to wait another 5 years or so to do anything in the NL East…

  24. The Dogfather says:

Giuliani has always epitomized “laziness under pressure,” and nowhere was that more apparent than in his recent bid for the presidency.

    There — I fixed it…

  25. Exley says:

    The Dogfather,

Oh, I don’t idolize George Costanza. I was just trying to identify Shoeless’ “I like toast” quote.

Actually, in the early episodes of “Seinfeld,” George is a Mets fan, along with Jerry.

As for the Nats, they are a fun team to watch. Acta is a good manager. And now you have Milledge and Lo Duca. And a beautiful new ballpark! You will have a good time with the Nats this year. You live in DC?

  26. judyinnm says:

Now that would be torture – having to listen to Giulliani…. And Paying extra for the privilege.

We’re in a world of hurt, for heroes.

  27. skimadsa says:

“Rudy Giuliani, one of the most respected leaders in the world”, which “world” are they referring?

  28. shoeless says:

  29. skimadsa says:

I would suggest that a majority of the “real” world doesn’t know who he is!

  30. The Dogfather says:

Live in NoVA, Ex, but work in DC — was a Nats fan when they were the Senators, before they got stolen from us to become the Rangers in the 70’s. Great to have baseball back in DC, and great to have a new ballpark a couple of miles from my office…

  31. Exley says:

    Dogfather,

I will be at Nationals Park in early April when the Mets play the Nats….Maybe I’ll see ya there.

  32. jpopphan says:

    Heh, “galvanized the electorate” indeed.

    Yeah….. galvanized them against him!!

  33. Lefty Patriot says:

He was the greatest mayor in NYC’s history. But he hardly “galvanized the electorate” in his presidential run.

    Comment by Exley — February 13, 2008 @ 9:56 am

Worst mayor in modern history, anywhere. he screwed that city u9p, took its character, unleashed uniformed murderers (called “cops”), made the city undefendable (9/11). he was a piece of shit, and still stinks.

  34. Buckie Boy says:

What’s he going to show them, how to get an apartment for his mistress and his buddy’s mistress on the public dime?

Or maybe how to cross dress with flair?

    Bathroom stall tap techniques?

    Buck Fush

  35. Johnbo says:

Note to the Washington Speakers Bureau – why not use the recent cover of The American Conservative where they featured Rudy done up in a fascist brown-shirt outfit and striking a Mussilini-like pose. That should pack the room with the corporate types. That’s the kind of “leadership” they can relate to. And, insightful leader that he is, he’s pointing the way to America’s future.

  36. SP Biloxi says:

Rudy gets pathetic everyday. Yesterday, Rudy is going back to work for his law firm. And now he is pimping (Shuster’s new word that he said to Hillary’s daughter) on the lecture circuit. Stuff is rough in the Shag Fund.

  37. nycinokc says:

Ghoulzilla the princess bride needs to pay for more first class seats for her Louie bag, for more drugs to be able to handle looking at Ghouliani and deal with being a haz been.

FDNY and Rescue workers across NYC cant stand them and only people who dont read think he was the best mayor and love him.
