This White House, and everyone associated with it, deserve no better than to be spit on by every single citizen of the US.

They’re pushing so hard for it because they know they’re screwed. If the bill expires and the old FISA was restored, are we more at risk? I don’t think so. But I wouldn’t put it past this Administration to create an “I told you so” incident to ratchet up fear and make the Dems look bad for 08′. It’s about all they have left in their sleazy playbook. They’re that heinous, that fascistic.

Were that Congress truly would be “the people’s House” where OUR interests are represented and not just those of the rich and powerful.

Ah, to us, the informed, it is. When that next attack comes, how well will Bobby Jo in Godforsakenland understand? It’s those people who the GOP always go to when they scream DADDY’S HERE TO PROTECT YOU for those people in Nowhereville, US are the ones who know so little, watch FOX for all their wisdom, and can’t or don’t read. They accept everything at face value and with our MSM so out of touch and out for corporate greed (and power?) only, it takes alot of desire to really learn what’s going on. If we don’t do something to educate our masses, we are going to be in a world of hurt with it getting worse daily.

So it would be George W. Bush who would be “responsible” if this country is attacked and not congress (or the dems as they’re painting it). He’s the one who vetoed the bill without telecom immunity.

Besides, he won’t even tell congress what these telecoms did so how can congress even begin to give them immunity? Immunity – for what? This is a high crime and he needs to be punished for it. During the time he was violating our rights he was on television giving speeches about how he is not “spying on americans without a warrant”. Not only did he break the law by spying illegally; he lied about it repeatedly while he was breaking the law. And what was Nixon impeached for??? Where has the morality and conviction of this country gone since then? How many lies has Bush told us now?? Who’s counting? It makes one’s head spin.

So his talking head morons had better be careful what they’re spinning. The people need to hold these propagandists (like McConnell) accountable for their lies as well and prosecute them along with the Bush cabal.

It’s Bush and his cadre of fools whom we have to fear in this country. It’s Bush and his cadre of fools who have hijacked our constitution and rights. It’s Bush and his cadre of fools who will be solely and totally responsible for any lapse in protection he claims the rejection of telecom immunity may present.

BUSH AND BUSH ALONE IS TOTALLY RESPONSIBLE AND THE BUCK STOPS AT HIS DESK – AS IT ALWAYS HAS AND ALWAYS WILL. BUSH DOESN’T GET A GET OUT JAIL FREE PASS ON THIS ONE.

It’s not the left wing bloggers which this white house has to fear; it’s the right to free speech which is the only right which Bushitco hasn’t usurped from the people. And it’s not that he hasn’t tried to shut down the internet because he has. He knows it’s the last bastion of free speech left and has become a thorn in his side.

Why do you think so many GOPigs are leaving congress in droves? If I’m being strictly altruistic, I’d love to think that it’s because they’ve become disgusted with their party and politics in Washington; if I’m being cynical (and perhaps more accurate) then I’d have to say that they’re “running scared” because they can no longer get away with their chicanery and shenanigans any longer.

The internet has made it damn near impossible for these thugs to do business as usual without being “outed” immediately.

The War on Terror is a farce. Nothing they do – well, perhaps reading the daily presidental briefings and intel reports might help, but that is past this admin’s abilities – is going to stop it. It might delay it, but not stop it.

They don’t hate us for our “freedoms” which we no longer have, they hate us because we interfere with their lives in ways that are not good for them, which in turn makes them not good for us. We give Saddam weapons and then say don’t use them. We give Pakistan nukes and then chide them. WE, our government, is a great cause of suffering around the world. And WE, THE PEOPLE are now reaping the “rewards” of those in power.

Basically, we’re f()cked.

As for the Middle East liking Romney, I think the people who have “voted” on Al Jazeera were from Israel, for those are the only people in the ME that I can think of what would want to double Gitmo and have continuing war.

Just MHO.

Bush uses these “show-down” moments to drag out the fear wagon. Before this election cycle is over you can rest assured Bush Co. will ratchet the fear level to new heights.

Exactly. The “War on Terror” is a load of crap. It’s unwinnable, by design.

There will always be radicalized groups willing and able to use violence to advance their political aims, be they radical Maoists in Nepal or radical Islamists in Algeria or brainwashed child soldiers in Uganda. These aren’t trumped-up pseudoterrorists – they’re real. And they’re often inadvertently created by our government when we prop up dictators.

There are some pretty brutal governments out there, too – just look at Kenya, Sudan, Uzbekistan, China, Egypt, and plenty of others. They spread terror among the people within their borders, and we’re not invading them anytime soon. Sometimes they even get a nod and a wink from our government.

The only way to fight both kinds of terror is through diplomacy and soft power. Military intervention only breeds it. We need a new crop of leaders in power who recognize this.
