John McCain’s lobbyist friends.

John McCain’s lobbyist friends.

Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) likes to make the misleading claim that he is “the only candidate that the special interests don’t give money to.” But as the Washington Post demonstrated today, McCain actually surrounds himself with lobbyists and special interests. Brave New Films has put together a video demonstrating McCain’s bevy of friends in the lobbying world. Watch it:

Yeah, the special interest don’t put money directly in his pants pocket. You have to be clear on these things.

John McCain is almost as much of a FRAUD as Bush. Here is a recent Wayne Madsen Report article that recaps some previous posts that detail some very potent background info on McCain and his Father, and two different cover-ups they were involved in in the 1960’s.

    Spread the word.

    Wayne Madsen Report

January 30, 2008 — With McCain as GOP frontrunner, time to return to Yankee Station and 1967

With Senator John McCain now heading to wrest the GOP presidential nomination, it is time to revisit his past and one of the darkest days in the history of the US Navy: 1967 and the USS Forrestal. WMR’s previous reports on McCain’s direct involvement in casing the worst non-combat-related disaster in the history of the Navy has since been verified by a senior Naval officer who was assigned to the Naval War College.

“January 16, 2006 — Why is John McCain so supportive of Bush and Cheney after being so viciously attacked by them in the 2000 campaign? The answer to this question may partially rest in Navy records detailing the events that took place on the USS Forrestal in ‘Yankee Station’ in the Gulf of Tonkin at the end of July 1967. The neo-cons, who have had five years to examine every file within the Department of Defense, have likely accessed documents that could prove embarrassing to McCain, who was on board the USS Forrestal on July 29, 1967, and whose A-4 Skyhawk was struck by an air-to-ground Zuni missile that had misfired from an F-4 Phantom.

According to an eyewitness to the Navy’s worst fire disaster that killed 134 sailors and injured 62, McCain and the Forrestal’s skipper, Capt. John K. Beling, were warned about the danger of using M-65 1000-lb. bombs manufactured in 1935, which were deemed too dangerous to use during World War II and, later, on B-52 bombers. The fire from the Zuni misfire resulted in the heavy 1000 pounders being knocked loose from the pylons of McCain’s A-4, which were only designed to hold 500-pound bombs.

During the fighting of the fire and while VF-74 and VF-11 were still counting their dead, McCain was helicoptered off the Forrestal to the USS Oriskany, which suffered a major fire on October 27, 1966, that killed 44 sailors. In that event, thousand pound bombs were jettisoned away from the fire but the lessons of the Oriskany went unheeded by the Forrestal’s officers, including McCain, who served with the VA-163 Saints on board the Oriskany when the fire on that vessel occurred. On October 26, 1967, McCain was shot down over North Vietnam during a bombing sortie from the Oriskany.

The unstable bombs had a 60-second cook-off threshold in a fire situation and this warning was known to both Beling and McCain prior to the disaster. On January 14, 1969, the USS Enterprise, steaming 75 miles southwest of Pearl Harbor, suffered a major fire. In that episode, similar unstable 1000-pound bombs detonated, killing 27 sailors and injuring more than 100. At the time of the Enterprise disaster, the Commander-in- Chief of US Pacific Forces was Adm. John S. McCain, Jr.,Sen. McCain’s father.

At the time of the Forrestal disaster, Admiral McCain was Commander-in-Chief of US Naval Forces Europe (CINCUSNAVEUR) and was busy covering up the details of the deadly and pre-meditated Israeli attack on the NSA spy ship, the USS Liberty, on June 8, 1967. The fact that both McCains were involved in two incidents just weeks apart that resulted in a total death count of 168 on the Forrestal and the Liberty, with an additional injury count of 234 on both ships (with a number of them later dying from their wounds) with an accompanying classified paper trail inside the Pentagon, may be all that was needed to hold a Sword of Damocles over the head of the ‘family honor’-oriented (McCain’s persona is supported by his book about his father and grandfather, both Navy admirals, titled ‘Faith of My Fathers’) and the ’straight talking’ McCain.

The Bush administration and neo-cons may have uncovered reams of documents that throw cold water on that public perception.”

    [...]

WMR also cited the potential that McCain’s Navy records were used against him by the neocons in control of the Pentagon, ‘The neo-cons, who have had five years to examine every file within the Department of Defense, have likely accessed documents that could prove embarrassing to McCain, who was on board the USS Forrestal on July 29, 1967, and whose A-4 Skyhawk was struck by an air-to-ground Zuni missile that had misfired from an F-4 Phantom.’

    [...]

‘Wet starting’ was apparently a common practice among young ‘hot-dog’ pilots. McCain was quickly transferred to the USS Oriskany (the only Forrestal crewman to be immediately transferred). After the disaster, McCain was shot down over North Vietnam on October 26, 1967.

As WMR previously reported, at the time of the Forrestal disaster, McCain’s father, Admiral John McCain, Jr., was Commander-in-Chief of US Naval Forces Europe (CINCUSNAVEUR) and was busy covering up the details of the deadly and pre-meditated June 8, 1967, Israeli attack on the NSA spy ship, the USS Liberty. The fact that both McCains were involved in two incidents just weeks apart that resulted in a total death count of 168 on the Forrestal and the Liberty, with an additional injury count of 234 on both ships (with a number of them later dying from their wounds) with an accompanying classified paper trail inside the Pentagon, may be all that was needed to hold a Sword of Damocles over the head of the ‘family honor’-oriented McCain by the neocons.

Recently I gave a cell phone that was no longer used to charity [abused homeless women] so they could call 911 without having to activate a phone. And they said to make sure to delete all the cell phobe pics because some guys, apparently, were sticking their tallywhacker inside Hot Dog buns and photographing them.

    Yeh, true. =P

My only question, is how will Timmy and Tweety spin this next Sunday? Their favorite candidate is falling apart before their eyes, and no amount of political sandbagging is going to turn the tide. At what point do they cut their losses, and acknowledge reality?

We’re watching the sunset of Johnny Boy’s political career and it’s a shame that this former American hero is going out as a fraud.

I would have voted for this guy in 2000, now I’m realizing I was duped.

  20. thirdparty says:

Where’s the evidence that McCain’s campaign advisers have influenced him to side on their issues? OK, I see we have this Paxson case, but even here it just seems that he urged action, rather than urge the FCC to side with Paxson. But I’d be interested in how it’s a problem that McCain’s campaign is managed by lobbyists, since there is no indication of impropriety. Keep in mind that Barack Obama also has hired lobbyists for his campaign:

Three political aides on Sen. Barack Obama’s (D-Ill.) payroll were registered lobbyists for dozens of corporations, including Wal-Mart, British Petroleum and Lockheed Martin, while they received payments from his campaign, according to public documents.

The presence of political operatives with long client lists on Obama’s campaign contrasts with his long-held stand of campaigning against the influence of special interests. Obama has even refused to accept contributions from lobbyists or political action committees (PACs).

It’s amusing to me that the left wants to assail McCain’ on ethics, when in fact he has arguably the best record on ethics in politics. Between campaign finance and pork barrel spending, what he’s done has been admirable.

So what to make of the NY Times story? For one, it helps McCain with conservatives. Also, I think that whenever the conversation is about ethics, it helps McCain.

  21. Castelcomerkid says:

Current spelling for the word hypocrite = ‘John McCain.’ I can’t wait until Barach Obama wins the Democratic nomination and nails this bastard’s ass to the wall with the names of the hypocrites that support this scum written large on it. That will leave only the idiots with dead brains to vote for this new version of Washington turd.

it’s going to help Mccain into a prison cell. he is one of the dirtiest of all conservative politicians, and that’s really dirty. McStain has been a hypocrite, liar and thief his entire career, including his hotel vacation in VietNam, a complete sham.

He dishonored himself during Viet Nam, so start with, and dishonored himself again as one of the Keating 5, and dishonored himself again by giving Bush blowjobs after the character assassiantion against him in 2000, and dishonored himself again by lying about his payoffs and favors for the dozens of lobbyists that purchase his whores for him. He’s filthy, as dirty as they come. Y*ou can defend him down in the muck, you seem comfortable in the gutter.

I think it’s funny how you edited my statement that you quoted, which began with: “Care to back any of that up?” Instead, you don’t provide any proof on your Keating attacks or your Swift Boating of his Vietnam record (oh, never mind, can you really call it a Swift Boating when you don’t even pretend to make up evidence?). You talk about lying about “payoffs” and “favors.” Care to identify the lie? All that’s come out is a question on whether he ever met with Paxson about the letters; he never denied writing the letter. But as we’ve seen, Paxson has been contradicted by a former executive of his.

I think you’re the dishonorable one. Well, not like honor matters when you can be an armchair character assassin.

  28. Abbybwood says:

It is interesting to note that that guy who has been all over YouTube accusing Barack Obama of a homosexual liason and of using crack cocaine in his limo back in 1999 is about to take a lie detector test and if he passes he will make $100k.

Here’s the link to the information:

    http://www.worldnetdaily.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=56626

If he passes the lie detector test Obama will be finished. McCain will go under with the lobbyist fiasco. A big trial in California has just been put on the docket naming Hillary and Bill Clinton as defendants. She’ll be done. Let’s see, who’s left?

    Ralph Nader.

it makes my skin crawl. Now we can believe absolutely nothing about him. He’s finished – washed up – cooked!
I’ve been spending time on the S & L scandal he was involved in and it’s amazing how little this man has changed. He has a need to meddle in and try to corrupt whatever asus a4g battery, asus a4s battery agency he can in order to make special deals for his cronies (the ones who contribute to him).
I find it also very telling about this man’s character the way he flipflopped and now condones waterboarding and torture.
