Rupert Murdoch made his billions doing cheesy, smutty tabloids in Australia and Britain.

MSNBC is controlled by General Electric and simply by definition could not have a liberal bias.

I admire Lee Camp for being more interested in the truth than furthering his career.

Ever notice how much anti-religious shows are on FOX? The Simpsons,South Park etc? These folks arent conservative at all. Conservatism today is exploitation [Capitalism] FOX is not about being a Christian, its about turning Christians into supporting whats basically a Robber Baron mentality. Jesus wasnt against welfare and for war. Jesus wasnt about fear and hate.

Well, actually, The Simpsons is pretty even-handed in its views on religion. Ned Flanders (and his boys) may take some ribbing for his (over)piousness, but there's never been an episode in which Flanders' faith was particularly denigrated. Even the "Angel Skeleton" episode was less about religion and more about how people's faith could be so easily exploited (it turned out the skeleton of the angel that Lisa found was just a marketing ploy). Also, when Bart was afraid he'd lost his soul for good (he'd "sold" a piece of paper with the words "Bart's soul" to Milhouse), it was a genuine fear; after he learned that someone else had bought it, he went home and prayed.
As for "South Park", if I'm not mistaken, Fox has nothing to do with that show. Comedy Central is a Viacom property (local Fox affiliates may air syndicated episodes of "South Park" but that doesn't make the show a Fox program).
I would also point out that the Fox Network is a separate entity from Fox News which renders your rant against the entertainment arm of the Murdoch Empire (Fox TV) from its news division more than a bit absurd. (I would like to know what other Fox shows you consider specifically "anti-religious" when compared to ABC, CBS, NBC and the CW).

Thanks for the update barfly. Ms. Simpson sounded pretty convincing t me. And of course Rove would not stand up and denounce her himself even though he was asked for an interview. And if they call him to testify before congress he won't go there either. Something needs to be done with these people.

The Seigelman story is now attacked by the Alabama state republicans:

<i>60 Minutes Report On Siegelman Causes Stir
by Associated Press

Last Updated: Feb 24 2008 - 9:29 pm
WASHINGTON (AP) - A former Republican campaign volunteer in
Alabama told CBS's "60 Minutes" of what she viewed as a secret
five-year campaign to ruin former Democratic Gov. Don Siegelman, a
claim airing tonight that was denounced as a fabrication by the
state GOP.
Party officials say Jill Simpson, a Rainsville lawyer who has
now left the Republican Party, was no more than a low-level
volunteer for individual campaigns, if anything, and would not have
had access to the kind of information she alleged on Sunday's "60
Minutes" episode.
In the program, Simpson made claims that she had not previously
raised publicly, either in an affidavit that drew wide attention
last summer or later in sworn congressional testimony.
She said then-White House political strategist Karl Rove asked
her in 2001 to find evidence that Siegelman was cheating on his
wife.
Simpson said it wasn't the first time that Rove -- who was
active in Alabama politics before going to the White House -- had
asked her to find damaging information about opposing campaigns.
Rove declined to be interviewed by "60 Minutes" and by The
Associated Press. But his attorney, Robert Luskin, denied Simpson's
allegations, saying "'60 Minutes' owes Mr. Rove an apology for
circulating this false and foolish story."
Simpson had not mentioned Rove directly speaking to her
previously. In her earlier sworn statements, she said she heard
party operatives running Republican Bob Riley's campaign for
governor discuss political influence behind Siegelman's prosecution
on corruption charges.
She describes conversations in 2002 and 2005 in which she claims
Riley campaign officials suggested that Rove was pushing the
Justice Department to pursue charges against the former governor to
keep him off the ballot.
Siegelman, who narrowly lost to Riley in 2002, was convicted on
federal bribery and obstruction charges in June 2006. He is serving
a sentence of more than seven years.
Alabama Republican Party officials said Simpson was fabricating
her stories. State GOP chairman Mike Hubbard, in a written
statement, says the party staffers "can find not one instance" of
Simpson volunteering or working on behalf of the Alabama Republican
Party.
Also, he says, no one within the Republican Party leadership in
Alabama has ever so much as heard of Simpson until she made her
first wave of accusations.
Simpson's attorney, Priscilla Duncan, disputed that account and
said Simpson could provide details of fundraisers and other
activities she helped arrange. Duncan denies that Simpson is
changing her story as she raises new allegations.
Simpson says she is a lifelong Republican, volunteering for
state and national campaigns dating back to Ronald Reagan and
George H.W. Bush. Duncan says Simpson has decided to leave the
party because "she's just so disgusted with their reaction."</i>

Here's an update, by Larissa Alexandrovna on the Seigelman story via Raw Story (sorry in advance for the long post):

<i>Soviet America
Now, let me tell you what has been going on. As 60 Minutes was putting its show together, the White House put pressure on CBS -- the parent company -- to kill the show. Over the last few days, as word got out that the 60 Minutes show would air tonight, Karl Rove's associates began planting defamatory stories about journalists working on this story (see example here) and attacking the whistle-blower who came forward, Dana Jill Simpson. If you recall, Ms. Simpson testified, under oath, to Congress about Karl Rove's involvement in politicizing the DOJ. What you may not know, however, is that her house mysteriously caught fire and she was run off the road in the weeks leading up to her testimony.

What you may also not know is that Governor Siegelman's house was broken into twice during his trial as was his attorney's office.

Yesterday, the attacks on Simpson and journalists increased with a series of emails from the Alabama GOP. See Here.

Tonight was something truly unseen in US history. During the 60 Minutes broadcast and ONLY during the Don Siegelman portion -- the screen went black for Huntsville residents and Mobile residents. There are other reports of other locations, but I have not yet confirmed those. In Florida, a series of strange ads were running about the FISA bill and how Democrats are not tough on terrorism, apparently during the 60 Minutes hour and also right before 60 Minutes, but not after (still trying to confirm when the ads stopped running).

In other words, in the United States of America, a man is imprisoned for being a Democrat. When reporters attempt to get this story out, they are threatened and smeared. When all else fails, the public is not allowed to see the news. This is not acceptable and I -- as a US citizen -- demand that Congress investigate this series of blackouts immediately. Any company involved in this must have their FCC license pulled too. Karl Rove may be gone from office, but he clearly is not gone from power. So long as his buddy, George W. Bush, continues to occupy the White House -- what used to be a symbol of how a nation could both be governed and be free -- we will continue toward abuse after imperial, no Soviet, abuse against us. That too is unacceptable.

Contact Congress now, non-stop, and demand a full investigation into what caused this selective blackout. You can find your member's contact information here. If no investigation happens ... If no one in Congress responds, then you will know finally and fully the ugly truth: we are no longer a democracy . And if we are no longer a democracy, then presidential election can fix the problem, because something that no longer exists cannot be fixed. Sadly, at that point, the only path left to us is the one I most abhor.

Update:
We are now being told that it was a technical issue with CBS in New York:

We apologize that you missed the first segment of 60 Minutes tonight featuring "The Prosecution of Don Siegelman."

It was a techincal(sic) problem with CBS out of New York. We are working with them right now to see if we can re-broadcast the segment.

Please be patient with us during this time. We are doing our best to correct the problem.

Excuse me? Are they trying to tell us that a glitch in New York ONLY happened in Alabama -- which is the topic of the 60 Minutes broadcast -- and ONLY during the Don Siegelman segment? Are you kidding me? We have selective prosecution and now we have selective news delivery? </i>
