AEI: ElBaradei makes U.S. attack on Iran ‘more likely.’

In the Wall Street Journal today, AEI hawks Danielle Pletka and Michael Rubin launch a full-frontal assault on IAEA Director General Mohamed ElBaradei, claiming that his approach to non-proliferation “demeans the purpose of his agency and undercuts its non-proliferation mission.” They also claim that ElBaradei “makes military action all the more likely” against Iran. ElBaradei is a Nobel Peace Prize recipient who was right about Iraq’s WMDs, while the Bush administration and AEI were wrong.

AEI = American Earmarks for Israel

One of Obama’s first orders of business is to look at (R) Stink Tanks.

AEI is a great example. Shored up by big oil & big pharma, their mission is to propagate & disseminate disinformation, lies & distorted facts. Warmongering is their middle name.

Just google them & take a look at their staff; scary shit.

  3. raynman says:

They hate him because he was right.

That’s the worst offense in the eyes of the Bush Administration.

Not just that he was right, but that he was in direct opposition to the Bush Administration’s purposeful LIES and Propaganda.

Luckily he hasn’t been renditioned for his “crime” of Truth, yet.

    Memo to all AEI employees:

The Orkin Man will enter all AEI buildings on January 21st, 2007. All employees may stay put; treatment conditions will be safe.

    We promise.

    Correction:

The Orkin Man will enter January 21st, 2009

    Our mistake.

    Definition of win:

Subjugate populace until oil is extracted.

    Estimated duration 10 – 1000 years.

Republicans in the family? I’ve experienced the same. My paps had the TV constantly tuned to Faux news and said GW Bush was a “GREAT president!”

My sympathies to you for your family political turmoil..

We already won the war. Its the occupation we are losing……

  15. Dharma says:

#7. Most of them already have dual citizenship with Israel as it is. It looks to me like they plan to f*uck up our country and then move there. Kristol and Lieberman each carry dual citizenship.

  16. McWars says:

Her defense of poverty would probably be along the same lines: “Like poverty, hate poverty, believe in it or not, America is now impoverished, and we must continue cutting taxes for the rich.”

  17. Bush Cover Ups says:

For gods sake stop believing newspapers and read ElBaradei the the IAEA website here

    http://www.iaea.org/NewsCenter/Focus/IaeaIran/index.shtml

Bush only has evidence on some crap laptop aledgedely nicked from Iran saying they dug a 400 ft tunnel

the spin and lies in the papers is total crap

  18. VerbalKint says:

AEI is just a bunch of paid liars and Nazi war mongers.

  19. Marie says:

They despise the man because he was proven correct and made them look like the fools they are.
However, this may be another step in setting the stage for the attack on Iran before Bushie leaves.

Saw “Rendition” yesterday. The deleted scenes (DVD) fill in the blanks. Innocent man picked up and tortured by mistake.

  21. Uncle Ho says:

The AEI is a fascist terrorist organization and should be wiped off the face of the earth.

  22. Marie says:

Obama may investigate stink tanks like AEI, but putting them out of business would be un-American. They can be exposed however, and people will not believe their propaganda.

  23. mary says:

    AEI is a tax-exempt organization.

    From their web site:

‘AEI’s operations are financed by donations from corporations, foundations, and individuals and by investment earnings from an internal endowment.’

In comes the tax-exempt money and out comes the propaganda poop.

  24. mary says:

AEI & Freedom’s Watch Seek $200 Million to Sell War on Iran

The New York Times reports that Freedom’s Watch is working with the American Enterprise Institute to lobby for war with Iran. “‘If Hitler’s warnings were heeded when he wrote Mein Kampf he could have been stopped,’ said Bradley Blakeman, 49, the president of Freedom’s Watch and a former deputy assistant to Mr. Bush. … The idea for Freedom’s Watch was hatched in March at the winter meeting of the Republican Jewish Coalition in Manalapan, Fla., where Vice President Dick Cheney was the keynote speaker. … One benefactor, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, said the group was hoping to raise as much as $200 million by November 2008. Raising big money ‘will be easy,’ the benefactor said, adding that several of the founders each wrote a check for $1 million. … Since the group is organized as a tax-exempt organization, it does not have to reveal its donors

So we have a sitting US Senator who has TWO citizenships? The USA and Israel? How can that be? I thought Holy Joe was an Amerikkkan. Where does his allegiance fall?

  27. tombaker says:

AEI can have a spot at the defendants’ table during the RICO prosecution of the RNC. There’s plenty o’room, and plenty o’evidence. I wouldn’t want any of the co-conspirators to go wanting for attention.

  28. katy says:

    huh… i thought that would be easy…
well, i can’t be bothered by it anymore today… but if anyone comes up
with a good zinger, let me know…
meantime, since it is a slow thread, here is HIS list:

22 REQUIREMENTS TO BE A GOOD DEMOCRAT
    1. You have to be against capital punishment, but support abortion on
    demand.
    2. You have to believe that businesses create depressions and
    governments create prosperity.
    3. You have to believe that guns in the hands of law-abiding Americans
are more of a threat than Nuclear weapons technology in the hands of
    Iranians and North Korean communists.
    4. You have to believe that there was no art before Federal funding.
    5. You have to believe that global temperatures are less affected by
cyclical documented changes in the earth’s climate and more affected by
    soccer moms driving SUV’s.
    6. You have to believe that gender roles are artificial but being
    homosexual is natural.
    7. You have to believe that the AIDS virus is spread by a lack of
    federal funding.
    8. You have to believe that the same teacher who can’t teach fourth
graders how to read is somehow qualified to teach those same kids about
sex–in the face of all the cases of teacher sex abuse of children in
    the news.
    9. You have to believe that hunters don’t care about nature, but loony
activists who have never been outside of New York, Boston, San
    Francisco, or Portland do.
    10. You have to believe that self-esteem is more important than actually
    doing something to earn esteem.
    11. You have to believe that Mel Gibson spent $25 million of his own
money to make “The Passion of the Christ” for financial gain only.
    12. You have to believe the NRA is bad because it supports certain parts
of the Constitution, while the ACLU is good because it supports certain
    parts of the Constitution.
    13. You have to believe that taxes are too low, but ATM fees are too
    high.
    14. You have to believe that Margaret Sanger and Gloria Steinem are more
important to American history than Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Edison, and
    Alexander G. Bell.
    15. You have to believe that standardized tests are racist, but racial quotas
    and set-asides are not.
    16. You have to believe that the only reason socialism hasn’t worked
anywhere it’s been tried is because the right people haven’t been in
charge and not enough money was spent on its programs.
    17. You have to believe conservatives telling the truth belong in jail,
but a liar and a sex offender belonged in the White House.
    18. You have to believe that Hillary Clinton is normal and in a normal
    marriage.
    19. You have to believe that homosexual parades displaying transvestites
in drag should be constitutionally protected, and manger scenes at
    Christmas should be illegal.
    20. You have to believe that illegal Democrat Party funding by the
Chinese Government is somehow in the best interest of the United States.
    21. You have to believe that this message is a part of a vast, right-wing
    conspiracy.
    22. You have to believe that it’s OK to give Federal workers the day off
on Christmas Day but it’s not OK to say “Merry Christmas.”
    Are you ready to vote???

  29. squidbilly says:

Just more chicken(shit)hawks crap from AEI. Too bad there are those who are gullible enough to buy it still.

Their motto must be create fear and live in fear!

  30. tombaker says:

    That’s a weak list those Gop’ers have.

  31. MapleStreet says:

OK, so the IAEA got a person with experience, including international reviews to verify the presence or absence of nuclear activity.

How does this make war more likely ?

As I think the answer is that he won’t kowtow to the Neocon agenda, I have to also anticipate the bad news that Shrub has less than a year in office – so if he wants to launch the bomb he has to do it in the next 9 months (and does he feel the pressure building that he has to find an excuse NOW
