Has it occured to you that our government is full of people that have studied history yet they still repeat the same mistakes?

Kind of like how we appeased Saddam as long as it was convenient for us? Or how about all the other “dictators” we have appeased over the years. I guess it’s OK to appease a dictator if we are getting something in return, but not OK to appease a dictator if we are not getting something in return.
