You can bet that Tom Hicks (who was the Ranger who slated to be Giuliani’s Texas top funds pooler) now OWNS a significant piece of the McCain action. He owned a chunk of Governor Bush “stock” in Texas and has kept his holdings high (and the yields were good).

I am not a big fan of how America chooses its president… nor its Congress critters.

Due to the idiotic system, by design the politicians in this country spend about 70% of their time on election and re-election matters, trying to please their big money donors (i.e. lobbyists, aka the scum).

But of course, this is the bestest democracy in the world and all other countries should start using the same model.

Let’s start with Iraq and move on to Iran next…..

Mason’s letter raises two issues as the basis for his position. One is that the six-member commission lacks a quorum, with four vacancies because of a Senate deadlock over President Bush’s nominees for the seats. Mason said the FEC would need to vote on McCain’s request to leave the system, which is not possible without a quorum. Until that can happen, the candidate will have to remain within the system, he said.
