Yesterday, blogger Alan Breslauer met Karl Rove before Rove was set to give a speech in Los Angeles. During the encounter, Breslauer unrolled a banner reading “Free Don Siegelman” which Rove reluctantly agreed to hold. Watch it:
Siegelman, a former Democratic governor of Alabama, was convicted in 2006 for conspiracy, bribery, and fraud. Siegelman’s prosecution was allegedly a politically motivated campaign orchestrated by Rove. 60 Minutes recently ran a story linking Rove to the case, but it was blacked out it parts of Alabama. A local CBS affiliate has since re-aired the segment.
I would have shown up with a sign- hang the war criminal.

February 26th, 2008 at 2:14 pmthis story starting to pick up momentum. GOOD!
Even the Dallas Morning News ran it, yesterday.
February 26th, 2008 at 2:15 pmToo funny. The story does need to remain in the forefront.

February 26th, 2008 at 2:20 pmThat is Priceless.
February 26th, 2008 at 2:24 pm“While Rove was busy with the banner, Bleshauer was also able to affix “kick me” and “i suck” post-its to Rove’s back.”
it would be so poetically just for Rove to spend the rest of his days pursued by pranksters mocking and embarrassing him.
Who’s down to contribute to the “Mock Karl Rove Publicly for the Rest of His Natural Life Foundation”?
February 26th, 2008 at 2:26 pmHa ! Good one !
Words can’t describe the likes of ‘ol T-Blossom.

Excellent idea tombaker . . . I’m in.
February 26th, 2008 at 2:32 pmOh, that is the best thing I’ve seen in a long, long time… sad that we’ve had to go through 8 years of crap just to get that laugh… forget FREE DON SEIGLEMAN how about RE-ELECT DON SEIGLEMAN!!
February 26th, 2008 at 2:32 pmTom- I got $5 on it… a week, for the rest of my natural life…
February 26th, 2008 at 2:33 pmhahahahahaha….something tells me that banner just put the nail in the coffin of Rove’s career and his ability to stay out of jail.
it will be PLASTERED everywhere!!!!
thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you
February 26th, 2008 at 2:35 pmYou can’t see it because it’s hidden by the sign but Alan Bleshauer is wearing an “I’m With Stupid” t-shirt.
February 26th, 2008 at 2:36 pmAlright….first off…F**K Rove…that pr*** can kiss my a**
However, you gotta give him some points for not scrambling his body guards to take down the blogger, unlike the infamous incident when senator macaca’s goons took down a reporter who asked him a question.
February 26th, 2008 at 2:36 pmShoulda been handin’ him subpoenas instead!
February 26th, 2008 at 2:38 pmMcCain is not a typical Republican, but in case he runs against Obama, that may help him draw Jewish voters.

February 26th, 2008 at 2:38 pmWhether or not the CBS’ 60 Minutes show was sabotaged in Alabama, it certainly raised suspicions whch will probably never be satisfactorily answered.
It highlights, however, the importance of putting people in charge of the FCC who have the consumer’s interest at heart, as well as our democracy. Presently the conservative appointees have run roughshod over the minority Democrats, who, I might add are valiantly carrying on within their limits.
It also should remind all of us that nominees to the Supreme Court are crucial to the preservtion of democracy and individual rights; therefore, the next president will very likely have to fill at least one, if not more, seats on the SCOTUS.
If we don’t want to see our rights compromised any more than they have been already, we need a progressive in the White House.
I am sure Clinton, a former corporate attorney, would be a fine president, but Obama has taught Constitutional law and used his skills to work for the average person.
We can only hope that the next president will defend the Constitution and pursue federal criminal charges against any and all of Bush&Co.

Don’t forget to contact John Conyers and tell him to bring charges of Inherent Contempt against Rove for ignoring a subpoena for well over a year.

February 26th, 2008 at 2:39 pmRove’s brain was scrambling when he held the banner. He’s thinking “Do I hold this to show that I’m not involved? But wait I am. Shit.”
You can see it in his eyes, he’s caught.
February 26th, 2008 at 2:41 pmHil;arious, if a bit off-topic (unless the topic is sham elections and dirty political tricks):
Diebold Accidentally Leaks Results Of 2008 Election Early
February 26th, 2008 at 2:42 pm***Correction to my post #17. Inherent Contempt is not a charge. It’s a little used, constitutional power the House has. They can send the Capitol Hill Police to arrest Rove, handcuff him, and drag him to the House where he goes on trial immediately.
February 26th, 2008 at 2:42 pmPersonally, I would have been happier to see Alan pie the azzhole right in his smug, ugly little face.
February 26th, 2008 at 2:49 pmWOW!!!!
February 26th, 2008 at 2:54 pmyou can run karl, but you can’t hide.
February 26th, 2008 at 2:54 pmThat was a damn funny video.
February 26th, 2008 at 2:58 pmSWEEEEEEEEEET
NOW:
& people think that while Siegelman was railroaded & elections were tampered…
…that NADER was responsible for what happened to Human Rights in North America?
the FRAUD?
the DEATH?
had nothing to do with …flat out corruption?
riiiiiight. If you’re *smart* you’ll take what you know about Rove & Siegelman …
& ask yourself if you are *really* having ALL YOUR ISSUES (WTO, SPP, Right to Privacy, Right to Peaceful Assembly… ) addressed by your candidates.
REMEMBER: the PRIMARIES are about *negotiating your candidate into a position* If the PEOPLE aren’t negotiating, don’t think that the *corporate structures* that grew over the last Administrations won’t be doing a lot of negotiating with the Democratic Candidates.
wake up.
Listen to the ISSUES Nader brings up & DRIVE the issues with your Candidates.
WHILE YOU CAN. you know, the way you should have with Kucinich & Edwards.
The NEGOTIATION stage of elections

February 26th, 2008 at 3:36 pmIt’s amazing how much Karl’s features resemble those of a pig.
February 26th, 2008 at 7:12 pmHe looks like some kind of human-pig hybrid…..and I thought Bush was just talking out his ass when he sounded the alarm about “human animal hybrids” in his 2002 State of the Union address……who knew?
Shoulda been handin’ him subpoenas instead!

The older you get, the more your character dictates your appearance. Good to see it confirmed in little Karl.
omg, a ray of brighter cloud at last :/
GENERAL QUESTION:
Is there a ‘definitive’ Iraq Occupation wiki-esque, compilation, time-line site???
Does anyone wanna bang one out in a week??
This is what i daydreamed i’d do if i won the lotto last week…: stand on a corner handing out $10 and Iraq Occupation timeline pamphlets. If someone came back and could answer a random, pre-generalized, question…they’d get $40.
It’s sad a situation….but so we are.
February 27th, 2008 at 1:09 amRE: “Mock Karl Rove Publicly for the Rest of His Natural Life Foundationâ€
…it could be like a new, public-sector, civil works!!
Seriously, who’s got game?
February 27th, 2008 at 1:17 amWOW!!! Loved it…. I have the greatest respect for Don Seigleman TODAY … one reason is because Alabama is my home state. I have watched every single bit of news coverage of this man named Karl … glad Obama dosen’t have that name. Sorry that Mr. Seigleman had to spend time in JAIL to help PROVE how people like Rove will RISK THEIR WHOLE REPUTATION to destroy an honest man for political fame. WAS ALL THAT POLITICAL GAIN WORTH IT, Karl? LET US KNOW … WHEREVER YOU ARE. We see people confess for less crimes all the time … I say, “FESS UP, ROVE.” When you do, we might call you a “patriotic American.” Or, someone might ask you to hold a different kind of sign.
