I do think the rest of the world would have a hell of a time figuring out what to make of Obama. We are seen as totally racist and backward – that we would elect a bi-racial, half-African with a Muslim name would really throw them for a loop, I think. Which would be a potent weapon in the Obarsenal.

BS, the world is not that stupid. They can see very well who Obama is and why the people in this country seem to really like him. Most of the people in the world still like and respect the people in our country, they only hold our current government in total disdain. They will not be at all surprised when Obama is elected our President. I think they will be relieved.

have a friend who just got back from his second tour flying choppers in Iraq. He isnâ€™t afraid of Obama, he supports him 100%. He doesnâ€™t want to do a third tour in Iraq.

Sooner than you, most likely. Republibots still supporting a losing strategy, an illegal, immoral, inhuman occupation with no end in sight (McCain: 100 years more!), and without the sense that the flying Spagetti Monster gave fruitflies. Obama is about 30,000 times more qualified than Bush for any aspect of the job of President, and the fear-mongering and lies of the Right will just assure his election, and, ironically, the return of freedom to America.

As to the “Arab street” angle of an Obama presidency, I think he will utterly confound said “street”. I worry a bit that they might view him as an apostate, but they may actually relate to him more. As racist as America is, we are not nearly as racist as many 3rd World cultures. The Arab street has shown again and again they do not understand America or American politics.
