Today In Los Angeles – Gas prices are $3.83

I don’t need any experts to tell me we are headed for $4 per gallon gas.

We knew we needed to get off of oil in the “70’s.

We have other ways to power vehicles and could be pumping up our economy with those technologies.

We could be leading the world in renewable energy sources right now if we were trying, just like we have led in every other technology in our history.

Oil companies have used their money and power to keep us on oil and our past presidents have played along.

We don’t have to give up personal vehicles, we have to learn how to properly power them sustainably, just like we learned how to travel in space.

Bill Clinton’s stupidity helped put W in the White House.

W is playing everything for his buddies at the country club, not the American people.

The Bush administration has all government officials scared for their jobs and lives… ie… Valerie Plame and Federal Prosecutors, and National Parks Employees, just to name a few, “If you don’t agree with W then we will hurt you.”

If there is justice on this earth, W will pay for his illegal activities…

We are still strong enough to dig ourselves out of this hole.

If I can, I would pee all over his library and from the air too !

I still cannot believe this country is so dumb to have re-elected him. America, you have brought this upon yourself.

I feel so sorry for my kids and the rest of the world. According to Peter Schiff (Author of Crash Proof), this is just the beginning of a world crisis.

Bush has finally come to realize this? It only took him 7 years?

The cluelessness on the gas price issue was priceless. It reminded me of his dad when he first confronted a price scanner in a supermarket. Cluelessness must run in the family, especially while they are occupying the Whitehouse.

I hate to burst your bubble of anger, but you ought to be reminded that that US prices weren’t realistic in 1999 and they aren’t now. As in: way too low.

I live in Amsterdam and if I would have a car, the average price I’d be paying for a gallon of unleaded petrol would be $8,55.

It’s a bit unfair, I know, since it has taken Europe decades of heavy taxation to change society’s mechanics (attitude) towards more transport (public) and fuel efficiency, AND our dense cities were not created solely around the automobile, but hey, just to give notice.

actually, you can be, if you take the oil executives out back and execute them for war profiteering. gas prices would become reasonable very quickly.

If he was so focused on gas prices, he lied when he denied hearing about the predictions of $4/gal.

I just love his pressers; despite my unsettled stomach when he is on TV — there are so many opportunities to laugh at him; just think of what the late night hosts will do with the fresh ammunition.

If we aren’t able to get the satisfaction of impeachment, criminal charges, indictment, trials and imprisonment for him – it’s not so much to ask that he be given opportunities to make an a$$ of himself, and see him leave office to the catcalls, sneers, jeers of a public happy to be rid of him. He will be the butt of jokes for years, as the undeniably worst president in history.

Unfortunately, the hell he has brought to tens of thousands of families of soldiers is no laughing matter- but one for which he surely deserves prosecution.

Of course, who was it that didn’t know how much a gallon of milk cost ?

The current high prices are not due to our lack of capacity – our current reserves and our production is high. No, problems are due to artificial “speculation” in the market and not basic supply/demand issues. Our ability to produce matches or exceeds that of the Saudis and we do have a strategic reserve for a reason. No my friend, the issue here is and has been for 8 years “Windfall Profits”. You can’t whine about losing money and needing tax breaks when you are raking in the money hand over fist. Each quarter, Exxon, Shell, etc post “record profits”…..this is not due to gas taxes or the need to make more refineries.

Another issue is that the oil companies are too cheap to upgrade their refineries and maintain their pipelines.

Take your talking points elsewhere!

We need more refineries.
