Conservatives block ethics reform bill.

Yesterday evening, House Democrats were forced to pull an ethics reform proposal after widespread opposition by Republicans, as well as a few Democrats. Several lawmakers insisted that the current system “is working” and there is no need for an independent, bipartisan Office of Congressional Ethics. In an effort to scuttle the office, senior House Republican aides have drawn up a hit list of Democratic lawmakers to target with investigations.

This makes no sense, they want to target people for ethical investigations because they are against ethical investigations.

  6. ziggs13 says:

This shows just how corrupt everything is. If people have nothing to hide then why not vote for it? It’s the same as the telecomm immunity, why would you need immunity unless you did something illegal? Create the committee anyways and start your investigation with the list of those who voted against it.

  7. Uncle Ho says:

Repubs were against ethics before they were against ethics reform.

  8. Buckie Boy says:

I say, “Have at it then.” if there are Dems that need to be investigated, then do it. Then investigate the Repukes that need to be investigated, or is that list of Repukes just too long?

To the idiot trolls, We Progressives want honest government, be it Dem or Repuke, unlike you trolls who think “it is OK if you’re a republican.”

Well, I do have to say, you have a point.

The Democrats should start to emulate the tactics of the Repub’s and draw up a list of right-whiners to target!

  18. bilbobaggins says:

Absolutely. Any person in Congress who is suspected of ethical violations should be investigated no matter if they are Democrat or Republiscum. The reason why the Republiscums killed the measure, though, was because the list of Republiscums to be investigated was probably three times the length of the list of Democrats.

It takes a woman to clean house, just wait till Pelosi is Madame Speaker!

Wow, another troll who is correct. Nancy Pelosi removed Jefferson from his committee assignments when he came under investigation. Funny thing, I don’t remember her Republiscum counterpart doing the same with Renzi.

I know, they could hurt themselves. But it’s funny to watch them wheel around and smack into walls when they’re confused.

Napier tries to smirk his answer out, but fails miserably. Of course, what is good for the goose is good for the gander. He doesn’t realize that we aren’t outraged that the Republicans dared to dig up dirt on the Democrats. We’re outraged that they got these principles to block Ethics Reform, because they didn’t want to be exposed. Sure, let’s let the Dems who have their hands in the cookie jar get burned too. I betcha that there’ll be three Republicans for every Democrat net in this trap.

    Hehe.

So, does Napier have anything to say about the block of Ethics Reform by the ‘lilly white Republicans’? No? I didn’t think so. Flagged for off topic troll-baiting.

See, that’s something goopers don’t get…they think liberals just want corrupt goopers gone, when we want ALL corrupt officials gone. But they can’t think outside of their own world views.

What a fantastic insight into the sick fu(k mind of a gooper.

For the list to be useful list in Republitard-ville, it would have to be a list of those Goopers WISHING to support this ethics bill. This is their currency, if it can help government govern itself, they are against it, so therefore, they would rally to beat anyone of themselves looking to make this bill a reality.
Thinking Republitard is ward hork. ;-)
