Lincoln was extremely [un]popular. Your citing of the 1864 election is hillarious.

But I’d point out that — in the South — a large part of the population “weren’t allowed to vote”, period. So how you can claim Lincoln was unpopular based on your unsupported bald assertion as to Southern sentiment is beyond me.

Bush has lost every war he’s started – even the wrong one (no WMD in Iraq) he started thinking it was some sort of slam dunk Mission Accomplished. And let’s not split hairs on that – somebody else is going to have to win them so he LOST them.

Three presidents who were ridiculed during their time in office, and whose missteps led to disasters of historical proportions for the nation.

Three Presidents who were hated during their time in office, but two were and one will be adored and admired later.

And Bush has been compared to Lincoln lately, now we can all see why.

The difference is, of course, that Bush will be seen the same way 100 years from now, because those statements about him are true, and based on daily occurrences. Bush will never be looked upon as a hero, or a saviour of democracy; nothing but a loser, a spoiled fratboy, a deserter, a coward, and an imbecile, taking his rightful place beside Hitler, Pol Pot, John Wayne Gacy, and other despicable monsters.
