After a speech in Los Angeles this week, former Bush aide Karl Rove was asked if he knew how to get Barack Obama or Hillary Clinton elected president. Rove, who is currently employed by Fox News, replied: “Yes, and I ain’t telling ya. I only work for Republicans — and Joe Lieberman.” In 2006, Rove also offered President Bush’s assistance to help Lieberman get re-elected to the Senate.

Revised: I only work for Republicans.
February 29th, 2008 at 11:34 amHuh. I thought ol’ KKKarl said that he worked for “the American people”….
I guess that means we Democrats aren’t Americans, eh…?
February 29th, 2008 at 11:36 amI’m more than happy to say that kark doesn’t work for me.
February 29th, 2008 at 11:37 am#1 - You’ve got that one right!
Sen. Lieberman is a closeted Republican! Not (quite) the same as Sen. Craig, but Joe does enjoy screwing his constituents by refusing to honor any of his election promises.
Lying = mandatory Repblic’s Party value!
February 29th, 2008 at 11:38 amproof positive that Rove is a complete amoral party hack.
February 29th, 2008 at 11:39 am‘I only work for Republicans — and Joe Lieberman.’
Now he’s just repeating himself.
February 29th, 2008 at 11:39 amRove reminds me of Dick Morris–brilliant, but oh so sleazy. Too bad both work for the Dark Side.

February 29th, 2008 at 11:45 amOf course he can’t tell how to get them elected. That would be self incrimination. He won’t tell how Florida and Ohio (and Louisiana) were rigged.
February 29th, 2008 at 11:46 amDick Morris is disturbing to even watch let alone listen to.
Toe sucker had lost all credibility a long time ago.
February 29th, 2008 at 11:47 amAnyone know what old Joe’s approval ratings are in his home state?
And who might be running against him next time?
February 29th, 2008 at 11:48 amAnd now he works for Fox News.
No doubt working 12hr days ramping up that Reich-wing/GOP smear machine.
February 29th, 2008 at 11:48 amIf by “work for” you mean “gin up a couple of crooked wins and destroy the party in the process”, then that’s surely what ol’ pigbottom does. Let’s hope that Jello Joe is the only D he ever gets within a mile of.
February 29th, 2008 at 11:49 amSo, only for Republicans then.
February 29th, 2008 at 11:52 amPersonally, I’d like to see KKKarl at work… making license plates…
February 29th, 2008 at 11:52 amYou can only hope that this helps sink Traitor Joe on the next election.
February 29th, 2008 at 11:52 amOf course he can’t tell how to get them elected.
I imagine “THE math” will be somehow involved.
February 29th, 2008 at 11:55 amKarl really should be reminded of his reassurances to Bush that the Republicans would maintain the majority after the 2006 elections. Whoops! As for Lieberman, the man has no principles or loyalties…other than to Israel of course.
February 29th, 2008 at 11:57 amMeanwhile, education dollars are supporting this tadpole to the tune of $30-$40K per speech, but ‘no records’ may exist of content.
Same Shit, Different Day in Bizzaro Bushworld.
February 29th, 2008 at 11:59 amWhy does KKKarl hate Americans?
Anyone know what old Joe’s approval ratings are in his home state?
And who might be running against him next time?

I don’t know about his approval ratings (no doubt pretty high among Republicans in CT) but we are stuck with him until 2012!
February 29th, 2008 at 12:00 pm“I only work for Republicans — and Joe Lieberman.â€
What’s the difference?
February 29th, 2008 at 12:20 pmYes, Since Lieberman was up for reelection in 2006, and Senate terms are 6 years (supposedly to keep them from having to think Politics as they’re the ‘deliberative body’), then short of a recall, Lieberman is in until 2012.
Any CT residents up for trying to float that recall?

Here’s the latest I could find. His approval ratings are totally being driven by Republicans, not Democrats.
I think it’s a little too early to know who is going to run against him since he was just re-elected.
February 29th, 2008 at 12:21 pmConservatives join moderate base to help McCain in Connecticut
Associated Press

HARTFORD, Conn. - Voters who described themselves as moderate and independent-leaning helped Barack Obama and John McCain secure victories Tuesday in Connecticut, one of 24 Super Tuesday primaries or caucuses nationwide.
That’s something they have in common with Lieberman, the former Democratic standard-bearer. His name hasn’t appeared on a ballot since his independent senate race win last year over Democrat Ned Lamont and Republican Alan Schlesinger, but members of both parties have strong opinions about him.
About three of every four Republicans said they had favorable opinions of Lieberman.
But among Democrats in the exit poll, the split from some of his party’s stalwart members was obvious. Once his party’s vice-presidential nominee, Lieberman received favorable opinions from only one-third of Democrats in Tuesday’s exit polls…..
Note: there are roughly 800K independents, 600K Dems and 400K Rep registered in CT. Primary races are strickly for registered only - no independents can vote
February 29th, 2008 at 12:29 pmJoe Lieberman will not run for reelection in 2012.
February 29th, 2008 at 12:29 pmLieberman is truly a coward for not declaring himself a Republican.
February 29th, 2008 at 12:31 pmIf Democrats win the Virginia Senate Seat and maintain in Louisiana, then Harry Reed should just kick Joe out of the caucus. If he loves all these Republicans so much he should caucus with them. I suspect that if the Republicans were still in the majority he would have.
February 29th, 2008 at 12:46 pmBush ratings are very low, thanks Karl!
February 29th, 2008 at 1:11 pmKarl’s changed from “The Math” to “The Meth”
February 29th, 2008 at 1:13 pmTime to Break the Bad.
Rove’s math worked like a charm in 2006.

February 29th, 2008 at 1:48 pmHey Karl, stating that you help only republicans and Lieberman is redundant and it repeats itself too.
February 29th, 2008 at 2:21 pmWho would want “SlimeJob” Rove to advise them?!?!?
“Nooooooobody ex-pekkkkts the SSsssspanish Inquisition…. Our chief weapon is surprise…surprise and fear…fear and surprise…. Our two weapons are fear and surprise…and ruthless efficiency…. Our *three* weapons are fear, surprise, and ruthless efficiency…and an almost fanatical devotion to … Dubya….”
Cheers,
February 29th, 2008 at 3:13 pmWe all knew that. LIEberman got reelected by the CT Republicans. They did not bother to support their own candidate. They threw their money behind Weasel Joe.
