Makes you wonder why Hillary decided to attack Obama using an argument that, should she win, McCain will turn right back on her.
Both candidates should let the voters decide between the two of then and unite in their exposure of the McSame rather than continue to hammer away at each other.
Short of the biggest election fraud ever devised and committed I don’t see McSame having even the slightest of winning. I’d vote for anyone or anything before I’d stoop so low as to vote for him.
This is playing to the GOP base, pure and simple. But what’s staggering to me is how popular George W. Bush still is with Republicans. He has a 71% approval rating from Republicans. After the last seven years? And Romney’s supporters were the most pro-Bush: giving Bush an 82% approval.
McCain is trying to consolidate an ads like this help him.

Further proof that many Republicans don’t think for themselves — they just mindlessly absorb the lies they are told.
But no matter. Less than 40% of the voters in this country are registered Republicans. Every single one of them could vote for the GOP candidate (who is presumed to be McCain at this point), and it won’t be enough. To win, McCain will have to capture the hearts and minds of independent voters and as many moderate Democrats as he can. Which won’t happen if he aligns himself with a failed president.

The numbers I’ve seen lately are much closer to 50%.
But the key thing to keep in mind is that there are significantly fewer people who will identify themselves as Republicans these days. In Dumbya’s heyday, the party identification split was pretty even, around 42% for each party, if I recall correctly. Today the Democrats are around 46% and the Republicans are closer to 35. Dems haven’t picked up many, but the REpubes have lost a ton.
As McCain will keep the Bush/Cheney policy and stay the current course the US debt should be in for years 20 Trillion dollars. Now as Dubai loans more money to Citi Bank it will be nice to see the new Middle East owners of the United States of America. One thing the Middle East Leaders learned from America, greed is how this country works. Everyone has a price and as we’re seen in the past 7 years many have taken that direction. Like your car you don’t own it until you pay off the bank loan. Well as the Middle East Leaders keep giving loans they gain more ownership.
Even an Obama speech can’t help with this problem. I was wonder Obama is getting votes for his great speech of Hope and Change with no plan in sight. Would Dr. King gotten votes if he ran for President as his speech gave Hope/Change but he also put action behind it. Well I guess Americans just want the words while they continue to lose jobs and homes. John Kerry is working hard to get Obama in office so Kerry can finally be President. We’ll have a President put in front, while the real President Kerry runs the country. Good plan by Kerry as he missed out in 2004.
Dems haven’t picked up many, but the REpubes have lost a ton.
So that alone would goose Botch’s numbers upward.

Right… a “bigger %” because it’s based on a smaller sample. And of course, that % got bigger, because if you’re still GOOPer after this fiasco of a president, you GOTTA be die-hard Koolaid drinker.
Seeing as the Dems haven’t picked up THAT many disenchanted GOOPers, I’d say the group that picked up the most new members would be the “Independents”.
Personally, I HATE the whole “who is a troll” game that so many like to play. That accusation comes down to, I don’t like your opinion, so I’ll call you a name that supposedly invalidates your opinion.
It is dumb, but it seems important to many to classify posters instead of either tackling their argument or if they just hate ‘em to ignore them.

On topic: I see McCain as a feeble minded or weak personality character. He hasn’t political personality at all, and now panders to Bush trying to suck his voters, because he hasn’t enough traction per se.
And, curiously, being older than Bush, is a curious case of cloning. Time Warp Cloning? Are these trekkies messing around with time, yet again?

Well, I feel I give as good as I get, especially when outnumbered 20 to 1. Sometimes I change my opinions based on the debates I get into here, sometimes not. It is possible to learn and still not agree - no one has a lock on the truth.
I am here because I have no interest in going to Redstate or wherever and reading opinions I agree with - boring, pointless, I learn nothing. Progressives are my countrymen, I see the world very differently from them yet I grew up in the same country they did. I find that very interesting. I respect you guys because you are Americans and in a democracy respectful disgreement is vital, as is interest in public affairs.
What can I say? There are wicked smart people here and I find the place addictive. Every month or two I go through this “Keltoi is a troll bit” and I hate it - I don’t want to talk about me, I want to talk about politics.
I can’t tell any difference between McCain and Bush on the war or economy. I can’t see any way he can legitimately win the General election unless the machines give it to him or there is an “incident” with Iran.
I saw a poll of polls that said Obama beats McCain by almost 5% and McCain beats Hillary by almost 1%. It was said that Republicans yesterday were voting for Hillary to get an easier candidate for McCain.
