Pelosi: McCain should reject Hagee endorsement.

In a conference call today, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), a Catholic herself, condemned Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) for accepting the endorsement of Pastor John Hagee, who has called the Catholic Church “The Great Whore,” an “apostate church,” the “anti-Christ,” and a “false cult system.’” The Huffington Post reports:

“That behavior is outside the circle of civilized debate in our democracy,” Pelosi said during a Thursday conference call. “I certainly think John McCain should reject his endorsement and I’m sure it won’t be long before he does.”

If Pelosi hasn’t followed Acts 2:38, she needs to be quiet and try to save her soul, based on this scripture, before she leaves this earth/Jesus returns. Pastor Hagee is right about righteousness. Until she saves her soul and begins to follow God’s principles, she is considered a satanist as well as hell-bound.
    Comment by Daryll — March 6, 2008 @ 9:46 pm

  59. Jeremy in Denver Says:

    Comment by Daryll — March 6, 2008 @ 10:34 pm

Aw, poor Daryll. It wants to only pay attention to the commandments (and not all of them!), adultery, homosexuality, divorce, and drinking strong drinks, and ignore the part about not 'casting the first stone' unless you are 'without sin', 'Doing unto others as you would have them do unto you', 'doing to the least of man as you would to Jesus himself', and remembering that the rich have as much a chance of getting into heaven as a camel has of going through the eye of a needle.

It's too rooted in the 'vengeful god' of the ancient peoples of the middle east. Why? Well, because it can belittle others while saying that it's on its way to God.

It has no idea that it's not really a Christian. It's a sad caricature of a hard-line Jew with fundamentalist tendencies, and it's one of the same type of people who had Jesus crucified almost two millinea ago.

    How amusing.

    How sad for it.

    And how ironic.

It's just another of the 'Do as I say and not as I do' crowd, the same group of people who shag little boys the afternoon after their sermons about the evils of sex in the morning.

And the most amusing thing is...that it expects us to take it seriously.

    BWAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

He hung out with 12 other guys and he wasn't even Irish, you figure it out. And, don't you believe he turned water into wine, what kind of strong drink do you think they were talking about dipshit. Hey, Zooey, it also says that the hypocrite shouldn't judge others lest he be judged and that the wealthy are the least likely to get into Heaven and that only those 'free of sin' are free to judge others, which considering that we _all_ are with sin in the eyes of God...that means no one. Heck, not even Jesus, who, notice, didn't throw a stone. ;)

Those are not God's principles you idiot. Men wrote the bible, and they wrote your particular version only a few hundred years ago. And you use the old testament that was never meant to be taken as literal, Jews didn't use it that way as a book of fact, rules and laws. So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.

Your bible says that only those who are without sin should stand in judgment. I tell you what, if Jesus comes to me and tells me I'm living in sin, I'll listen to HIM. This piss-soaked troll? Not so much. After all, I think the little voice that is whispering in its ear belongs to another being entirely. A being who was cast from heaven for the very same sin it shows here every time it spreads its shit on our community.

    PRIDE.

I leave you with Romans 12:19.

Oh Daryll, have I told you lately where you can shove your bible?

  97. Jeremy in Denver Says:

Joanne, he won't. After all, he was on here not even two weeks ago saying that the poor are in their situation and it's their fault they're there. He's not a true Christian, he's an Xtian, you know, the type who loves the cross because it killed Jesus, so that now they can use Jesus's works and pervert them to their own goals?

They don't worship the man, they worship the power his church has built in the centuries after his death. The power that church has created has allowed for many attrocities to be commited in the very enlightened man's name...the latest of which is taking place in Iraq and the US as we speak.

    Does Daryll care? Cheney no.

  100. ralph the wonder llama Says:

We all have to keep in mind that Daryll is a little... um, selective about the parts of the Bible that he follows and those he feels can be safely ignored.

For instance, Daryll's all over the parts of the Bible, like Acts of the Apostles, that suit his temperament.

But some parts of, say, Matthew, for instance -- say, the Sermon on the Mount -- y'know "judge not, lest ye be judged", Daryll's a little more flexible on those parts.

He figures that, since he knows God's Plan, he can safely judge the fitness of others for heaven or hell and God won't mind. In fact, God will be glad for the help. It must get exhausting for God having to judge everyone constantly. With Daryll around to help, God can relax and maybe ease back on the Globa Climate Change a bit instead of judging all of the easy cases. Like liberals for instance.

Of course, Daryll very recently told us that God's Plan was for Gov. Huckabee to assume the duites of president in 2009... "President-elect Huckabee", wasn't it, Daryll? But now it turns out God has a different plan for the Governor.

So maybe Daryll oughta be careful that he's not judging others based on a plan that God has already changed without telling him.

    I'm jus' sayin'...

While I've been away for a few hours I regretfully find out that I've missed Wondertroll Daryll. Well, let me say this; Daryll, you are simply delusional. Just like Hagee, McCain, Bush, Cheney, etc. You don't know how to relate one to one with another human being because all you do is quote the bible or spew insults. Your bible is just a mish mash of musings of ignorant old men (of that time) that didn't have a clue how the world worked and didn't have a clue how to find out. They lived their lives scared shitless of their own shadows every day and night. They had nothing better to do than to write down (those that could read and write) some feeble explanation of whatever it was that just frightened them. Volcanos inspired the image of hell and white, whispy clouds inspired the image of heaven. Now go sell your daughters into slavery, stone your children and for God's sake don't look at your neighbor's wife! In short take your bible and shove it straight up your A$$!

What a joke of a human being. Using Jesus like that.

When Rapture comes, Daryll will definitely NOT be amongst those followers. God would smote that kind of human being.

Wouldn't mind seeing that to be honest. A whole lot of goopers would get TOLD YA SO'S.

Makes Billy Hill's schtick look like a grade school "Salute to Vegetables" pageant.

    -- Ralph Hussein Wonder Llama

  138. Jeremy in Denver Says:

In all realism, Jesus's teachings were very forward looking. Sin is depriving your fellow man of the right to live peacefully.

Stealing? Wrong because you have deprived someone of peace.

    Murder? Need I explain this?

Adultery? Again, depriving someone (your spouse in this case) of the right to live peacefully, with extra bonus Sin points if you have children. (Note, Polygamy _was_ mentioned in the bible, and it's not made out as bad as Daryll'd like us to believe...but it's not for everyone, hence the rule against cheating on your spouse)

Homosexuality? Not so much. Jesus didn't mention it once, if my memory holds up, and it was mentioned very few times even in the Torah.

Jesus was all about making people treat each other with respect and treat each other the way they'd want to be treated.

Daryll doesn't get that no matter how many motes you find in another person's eye, when you go on a liberal blog and spout off about how the poor deserve their plight (let alone subscribe to a secular political party that emphasizes it!), you've got an industrial grade beam in your eye -- as in an I-beam like what they use to hold up a skyscraper with.

When you say 'sacrifice' is required, while oil companies get fat and war profiteers make money hand over fist in Iraq, your credibility is in the crapper.

Yes, Daryll's going to find out the truth when he dies. He may get a cold room....as I remember, Ebinzeer Scruge got the only air conditioned room in all of Hell, to fit with his ice covered heart.

  139. Ms_Joanne Says:

Ralph, no kidding! He's a parody of himself and of every christian.

But it does crack me up to see the level of hypocrisy those who do anything but follow Christ's teaching love to espouse.

  140. Jeremy in Denver Says:

All good (not so much...) things must end. I leave with this Zen piece of philosophy.

"The Universe is so vast and we are so small. There is truly only one thing we can control; whether we do good or evil."

So far, Daryll's actions suggest evil, not good.

  141. Zooey Says:

Well said, Jeremy Hussein in Denver. :)

  142. Mr. Evil Says:

I'm an atheist and I'm more Christian than probably 90% of the people who call themselves Christian. Most people call themselves Christian today because they believe it makes them a more complete republican. The term Christian infers Christ-like. Meaning you should live your life in a Christ inspired fashion. Such as helping people in need (not just after a tornado or hurricane). Feeding the poor. Helping the ill receive adequate medical care. Have you done any of these things lately Daryll? They're HUMAN BEINGS dammit and they deserve a chance to be able to maintain some semblance of dignity and promise. Don't call yourself a Christian again, ever, until you learn to live like one.

  143. Jeremy in Denver Says:

    Oh yeah, kinda forgot that.

    Signed,

    Jeremy Hussein in Denver.

I too believe that Daryll is on the wrong path, if he's serious. His words here tell me that his reading of the Bible, especially the New Testament, is completelt at odds with what I got out of reading it.

His emphasis on Sin rather than on Love tells me that, like most conservatives who think they follow Jesus, they're much more comfortable with the rules and condemnation of Yahweh in the Trah than they are with the deep spiritual meesage of Jesus.

To me, this is wrong-headed and wastes the beauty of Jesus' message.

But they're welcome to believe it, and they may turn out to be right.

What they're not welcome to do, and I think Jesus made this clear, is judge others by their oen standards and claim that they are God's. That's arrogant and, to my mind, sinful.

  146. Zooey Says:

You got it, Ralph. It's been a long time since Sunday school, but I remember what I learned. Darryl worships his Pastor Gino, not Jesus or God.

  148. Mr. Evil Says:

And now, back to the thread. John McCain is about to put himself between a rock and a hard place. He's accepted Hagee's endorsement which means Hagee's followers and any other fundy extremist will vote for McCain. Now that McCain's camp is beginning to realize that Hagee can and will become an 800 pound gorilla on McCain's back they want to jetison his endorsement. But, if they do they'll alienate all those sleepwalking followers of Hagee and lose thousands and thousands of votes. Maybe more. If they don't refute Hagee (as the total nutjob he is) then they'll alienate millions of voters that have a slightly better grip on reality. More proof that McCain is more reactionary than deliberate.

  149. Ms_Joanne Says:

    1. God lied to Daryll.
    2. Daryll lied to us.

I think that Daryll would agree it's best to ignore, to shun if you will, False Prophets. There is really no longer a reason for Daryll to waste bandwidth with his discredited, though sometimes amusing, ravings.
