Food has become a luxury for many of us. Gas has been taken off the list except for only necessary driving to the job or hauling groceries. In the construction business here in Florida people are calling and asking for work. Wives are looking for cleaning jobs. Men are looking to recycle metals.

The fall of the dollar is creating this mess and you can thank the not so “federal” reserve money men for pumping so much fiat money out that it has pretty much become worthless.

We are in very dire straits in many many areas right now and it is going to get a lot worse. 690 billion (that’s with a B) of mortgages are going to reset between hp omnibook 6000 battery,hp omnibook 6100 battery now and hte end of the month. The glut of foreclosures is just starting.

I've been waiting for SOMEONE, ANYONE to ask McCain to spell out exactly what those "fundamentals" are, because the dollar is collapsing, employment is shrinking, entire industries are being shipped overseas, home ownership, personal savings, and middle-income wealth are all shrinking, and the National Debt has exploded to the point where nearly a third of every tax dollar goes justto pay interest on the debt.

What are the "strong fundamentals" they keep talking about? CAN SOMEBODY PLEASE ASK HIM?

tonight on 60 minutes, i didn’t catch the whole thing, but at one point i swore i heard him talking about how awful torture was… about how the US tried and convicted japanese soldiers…

i waited for the follow up: “but, sir, you voted to allow torture…”
it didn’t happen…

but i could’ve missed it…

Now now, we all know Grandpa sometimes gets a little 'confused' don't embarass him with confusing questions.
Just let him keep talking, eventually he'll get tired and take a nap.

O my God, McCain has finally reached dementia.

Why are these so very tough times:
a. 9/11
b. mortgage crisis
c. Iraq war
d. immigration
e. Bush/Cheney policy
f. foreign oil dependence

Hmm, while McCain says b and f, and probably thinks d and a too but doesn't express it, it is clearly c and e that are the cause of the high gas price and the recession. 4 more years!

I think McCain's efforts to appeal to the right wing religious extremists, while not alienating independents and moderate conservatives, has created a three faces of John Sidney McCain, III problem. He apparently has a multi-personality disorder that causes him to change into a candidate with diametrically opposed beliefs in the middle of his campaign speeches and interviews. I kinda feel sorry for a man so lost in his own conflicts, he has no awareness of which John Sidney McCain, III personality is doing the talking. Unless of course, he's just repeating what the changing voices in in his head tell him to say for purposes of political expediency.

Jackball- Who do you think bails out lenders ? A government agency was put in place in 1990 in Texas to do nothing but try to sell foreclosed property and they sure didn't get the whole cost. Who insures your savings that the bank invested badly ?

As I mentioned there are some eye opening books with facts and figures out there to enlighten you.

The Fed isn’t spending the money on bailing out banks or hedge funds or “helping rich people”. It is making fully-collateralised loans that will be repaid the next day (or week).

Comment by jackball

Not to mention, by the way, the astronomical tax breaks given to Bank of America in exchange for buying up Countrywide Mortgage Co., far and away the biggest culprit in the sub-prime fiasco.
But then money never paid to the government can't count as money, can it?

#89 - Good comment. I wish the debates would ask some of those same questions instead of the airy feel good themes. Lets hear the plan to right the wrongs instead of we need change. But of course McCain doesn't think anything is wrong so no changes needed there. What an idiot !

This OLD man is too old to become President. Do Republicans really want to see an old man end up with althemiers sitting in the oval office? Apparently they are willing to elect the oldest man ever to run and in the process rish our country's welfar because they couldn't get any younger man to win the nomination. They counter by saying he should pick a younger running mate. There's only one problem with that, and that is we don't elect VPs to become the head guy because the old man can't function anymore.

I wish someone would ask him what he thinks are the fundamentals of the economy. We have a massive trade deficit, an even more massive national debt, the dollar isn't worth anything, job loss is growing, energy prices are skyrocketing, health care is increasingly unaffordable, education continues to lag, a war that he supports that is costing billions every month, increased government spending, poor international relations, an American public that has had to listen to it's government spread lies and fear for the last 8 years, crooks on Wall Street, crooks in Washington, crooks in the White House, on and on and on.

Again, what are these fundamentals that McCain is talking about.

Talk to tax preparers and hear how slow this year is, many people are holding off having the tax prepared even with the promise of $300 which will then show up next year for income. People are really concerned. I would like a real figure of layoffs for the total year, because I certainly don't trust bush's gang to tell the truth.
I wonder how people with children are paying for the milk at $3.99 - $5.00 a gallon.

McSame & Hagee are joined at the hip, but Hate Radio questions Obama's pastor?
Hagee can call Catholics the 'Great Whores', but Obama being Christian must mean he's Muslim?
McClinton questions Obama's 'security clearance' while admiring a guy's with PTSD?

McSame / McClinton: Insanity personified

Instead of a stimulus package a Bill was submitted for longer unemployment benefits and increasing the income limit for Food Stamps. But this Bill was shot down. Now tell me how a check for $300-$600 is better than longer benefits and Food Stamps. Which has a longer lasting benefit?
