Petraeus ‘disappointed’ about Harry’s outing by Drudge.

Despite a consensual international media blackout, Matt Drudge revealed in February that Prince Harry had been “in Afghanistan for more than two months.” Gen. David Petraeus said recently he is “disappointed” that Harry can no longer serve because of Drudge’s actions:

The third in line to the throne returned early because his deployment was made public on the Internet.

I am a bit disappointed for him that he was not able to complete it all the way through and to come home with his unit,” said Petraeus.

“I know that he will be there to greet them when they do come home and reunite with their families and I know that that will be a special moment for him and for them as well,” he added

Come on, TP, you’re better than this.

Given the quoted statement, Petraeus didn’t say he was “disappointed” about “Herry’s outing by Drudge”. He said he was disappointed for Harry that he wasn’t able to complete his mission.

Petraeus said nothing about Drudge. Why would a right-wing tool criticize another right-wing tool? They may be in different fields, but they’re both in the same tool box.

I don’t know why anyone looks at the Drudge Report to begin with

His website looks like sh*t to begin with, and it’s devoid of any meaningful content.

awwwwwwwwwwww……poor harry….he wasn’t able to fulfill shooting indescriminately at Afghanis and dropping bombs from his proxy bunker for American hegemony and Bush’s narco industry

let’s all sit down, pout and cry for the poor British monarchy and their stupid childish agendas and their need to have a press conference every one their latest whims

  7. Buckie Boy says:

Why does Drudge Report hate Harry?

And why are the Reichwingers calling for blood of the Drudge, oh, forgot, IOKIARDI….as usual.

  8. Buckie Boy says:

That should have been “not calling for blood”

  9. J says:

Through this, Drudge has proven to be of less merit than even the British tabloids. Way to go, bud! Way to put people’s lives at risk just to get that “scoop”.

He got more press and likely more clicks because of this incident. I’m sure that he has not learned his “lesson”.

  10. Nevar says:

What is Gen. Bullshit Betrayus’ concern with a British soldier in Afghanistan?

  11. Shayne says:

Hey General, aren’t you supposed to be worrying about the United States military. We’re not under the control of England any more, remember. We have our own monarchs now.

  14. sectionop92 says:

Hmmmm….Petraeus sure took his sweet time to comment on this. Well, shouldn’t surprise me, that’s the m.o. when it comes to Afghanistan…under-fund and don’t speak much of it. I think one of the General’s handlers went inside the vault, inside the command bunker and told him he needed to get his monthly quota up to snuff on the happenings “elsewhere” and with those “allies” who haven’t ditched the losing cause.

    Yer right Shayne.

England had a King george who lost the colonies… and we have a King George who’s losing the place too.

Yeah, but my sources tell me that Harry was NOT wearing an American flag lapel pin, so he was fair game.

Spot on! With the single exception of bashing Betrayus and Sludge this thread is useless. But you are right. It is worse than useless, it is silly.

  22. Erroll says:

One wonders if Petraeus is also disappointed that the Bush twins and Cheney’s daughters have not volunteered to put their lives on the line in Iraq or Afghanistan. The lush life of the aristocratic class is seldom bothered by having their family members fight for the wars which they so heartily endorse. At the very least, the children of the neoconservatives should be forced to read at a minimum one poem every day by one of the war poets who wrote during the Great War so that they could have some idea what the ravages of war brings to those who are forced unjustifiably into those horrible and wretched circumstances.

Thanks, Rodham Gin, I gave you the attaboy (or girl, whatever the case may be) for being sentient this evening, if somewhat coarse.

Gulf War Illness Strongly Linked to Chemical Exposure
Washington Post – 2 hours ago
By Amanda Gardner MONDAY, March 10 (HealthDay News) — A new scientific review finds a strong association between exposure to certain chemicals and the Gulf War illness suffered by many veterans.

Pesticides, Nerve-Gas Pills Tied to Gulf War Illness (Update1) Bloomberg

    it’s not just the water…

  28. Marie says:

How old is this story? Petraeus has a comment on it today?
I guess it is better to speak of this rather than the contaminated water, the prevalent hearing loss in the troops, or the fact that 8 soldiers were killed in the ever-so-much-more safe Iraq.

Same thing most veterans have suspected…. and the government has tried to hide….. like they did Agent Orange.

  32. christopher wiwi says:

5 brave soldiers died today and the general acknowledges an article
on prince Harry, what a joke. My question is does the general know about the 5 brave soldiers . Stop this INSANE occupation!!!!!

  33. williamf says:

You know, the Brits at least sent their leaders to a place the commoners had to go and…to risk something. Players like Bush, a draft-dodger himself, would never think of doing such a thing. It’s for the volunteers right. Betrayus is another kiss ass general who will live a fine life in retirement having spent his career sucking up he’ll be well taken care of by taxpayer money…when the time comes. No worries for him. He’s got all of the stars he can get so I guess he’ll get the joint chiefs before his war criminal president goes back to cuttin’ brush. But in the words of an Admiral who spoke truth to power, Admiral Mullen is it, over at centcom, “betrayus is an ass kisser and a chickenshit.” What can I say that would top that.

  34. Laszlo Panaflex says:

I believe the pertinent line comes from the movie Platoon: “We need every swingin’ dick in the field.”

Thanks, Drudge, for giving recruiters one more pair of boots to fill — the terrorists give you a flashing siren!

  35. Marie says:

If we repeat the following a hundred times a day will the repugs finally admit the truth?
An exhaustive review of more than 600,000 Iraqi documents that were captured after the 2003 U.S. invasion has found no evidence that Saddam Hussein’s regime had any operational links with Osama bin Laden’s al Qaida terrorist network

Curse that liberal Drudge for endangering the troops. Just like a liberal to not care about our troops.

    What? conservative you say ?

  38. jaramilr says:

Here’s my wacky conspiracy theory: This was pre-planned in order to keep Harry out of harms way while giving him credit for serving in a war. If he is ever in a position of power, and his military experience is questioned he can say “Oh poor me, I tried to go to war and I would have done it too if it hadn’t been for those meddling pundits.” This is way better than the pathetic excuses that Bush and Cheney came up with.
