Only the warmongering Neo-cons would be clapping that Adm. Fallon resigned. I hope beyond hope he comes forth and tells all soon so as a country we can storm the White House and take back America from BUSHCO and his bootlicking lackeys and fear mongers.

Bush signing statement undermining the very laws he is to uphold...

Dec. 23, 2004: Forbids US troops in Colombia from participating in any combat against rebels, except in cases of self-defense. Caps the number of US troops allowed in Colombia at 800.
Bush's signing statement: Only the president, as commander in chief, can place restrictions on the use of US armed forces, so the executive branch will construe the law ''as advisory in nature."

Read it again and replace Columbia with Iran. Do you think Bush will wait for or ask for Congressional approval to order a preempted attack on Iran? What hasn't the Bush administration lied about? Why wait to find out?

what the hell is this guy boot talking about?? - "Fallon’s very public assurances that America has no plans to use force against Iran embolden the mullahs. […]" - emboldens them to do what??? - i'm with willamf at #209.
and then he says
"By irresponsibly taking the option of force off the table, Fallon makes it more likely, not less, that there will ultimately be an armed confrontation with Iran." - what does this mean??? - that by not threatening a military strike will actually result in an inevitable military strike???.....dr seuss makes more sense than this guy.

The Admiral is the smartest of the bunch. He knew failing policy and strategy when he saw it and he's going golfing. Why continue to work for a Delusional president. Rightees always worry about something being emboldened...how do they know something will be emboldened? What kind of horseshit is that. Oh, don't do that blah blah will be emboldened. Even if they were, whoever they is, the fascists show little faith in our troops being able to deal with an emboldened enemy, or a mullah for that matter. The most hilarious thing about it is that there is not one republ out there that even approaches Admiral Fallon's experience and knowledge. A man of immense abilities could see the writing on the wall and wanted no part of it. When the scum quit snickering maybe they'll realize a straight talking leader was lost and in this administration straight talk is a rare commodity.

Hey Tracy!
Didja finish Clarke's book yet?
'cause here's an example of another professional who spoke out against the Bush Admin. insane policies... does that make Fallon 'blatantly partisan' as well?

Regardless of its validity of being "political suicide" , why would that be an almost immediate statement from her ?

Especially after just being swept into her position as Speaker......

I don't get it.

"Iran also supports the government, military, police and many businesses. So the questions really is why does Iran both support and destabilize the country?"

Pelosi hasn't come right out and said why, to my knowledge. My interpretation is that it she perceives it as political suicide, even though the Administration's approval ratings have plumetted, she may think that the actual act of impeachment could rally his base and others behind him, which is somewhat likely.

Her choice was to simply sit back and let the smaller things add up against Bush until the election 2008 when the Democrats slide right into the Whitehouse (which if Obama wins the nomination, will surely be the case). The question, then is, does she plan to continue impeding justice at that time?

I don't like it. It doesn't sit well. I think the right thing should be done at all times, despite any political costs, but I can at least understand that reasoning.

It saddens me that this is actually occurring in MY COUNTRY.

Comment by MCMetal — March 12, 2008 @ 4:40 pm

I hear you. I personally think (hope) that Pelosi has only taken impeachment off of the table for cynical/political reasons. If, however, we get a Democrat elected as president and we maintain (or build on) our majority in Congress and there’s still nothing, then I’m with you. Then we riot.

Comment by J — March 12, 2008 @ 5:10 pm

Does anyone have an answer for that , BTW ?

What and why would Pelosi , immediately from what I can vaguely remember (too much partying) , remove impeachment ?

Why would anyone make tha type of claim at any time , much less right off the bat ?

That strikes me as very odd , to put it mildly........

That strikes me as very odd , to put it mildly……..

It still does. Congress has chosen not to fullfill their obligations. How many Senators have you called today? Ever?

I call them daily ; Lautenberg’s and Menedez’ staff joke with me all the time about my constant badgering of them .

They also thanked me for my constant concern ; I now regret deleting Lautenberg’s personal response back to me via e-mail and a written letter regarding telecom immunity (which he voted against , I’m proud to say).

I just wanted to add that sadly , it doesn't always work out the way we might want ; but that doesn't mean we should stop trying........

Makes him even more wrong and even more troll-like , considering I never made the statement Kelt Boy repeatedly claimed I did , and I did state that before I went off and called him all the names that are perfectably applicable in describing him……….

I have re-read all my posts. The post of yours I invited you to clarify - which you refuse to do - was the only time I implied you wanted to remove Bush by bringing up Turkey and Pakistan. It was only an implication, I haven’t said it repeatedly.

Your point is weak at best, and for someone who incessantly resorts to vicious personal insults I have a hard time buying your indignity.

My existence here , is not for you to "buy" , jerkoff ........

I don't care about your opinion of my intent or my post(s) ; you have proven your inabilities and dishonesty.

Do as you wish ; I simply don't give a damn enough to consider you seriously .

You're an unfunny clown............

BTW

You have stated I have refused to clarify what I wrote ; I have clarified it , and you have finally admitted you made an assumption based upon nothing.

Congrats on finally grasping a bit of reality related to your inabilities.........
