So, the right gets up in arms because Obama would "bomb Pakistan", but what about when Bush does it:

"Pakistan's military has criticised US-led forces in Afghanistan for firing artillery shells across the border, killing two women and two children."

You wouldn't recognize Socialism if it bited your arse.

And, what is bad with one world government? It can't be worse than the one of GW for the USA.

Meanwhile, assume your bend over position and be prepared to receive more Bush "great presidency action".

A never ending criminal war costing billions of dollars a month is a great way to flush the american economy down the toilet. Let the rich have it their way! Screw the middle class! Depression is just around the corner.

Sen. John McCain (R-AZ), traveling to Europe next week, said he wouldn’t discuss differences with President Bush while abroad. “There are obvious differences,” he said. “I certainly won’t articulate them overseas.”

Uhm, Johnnie Boy, we have internet out there too. We know you already.

McCain is staying on the sidelines.” He has refused to sign a letter by fellow Senate Armed Service Committee members “demanding a full audit of how the Iraqi government was spending its oil revenue.”

And instead of crucifying his ass, Obama and Clinton snipe at each other.

I'm calling on both campaigns to re-direct their attacks on this jackass, instead of each other.

A Pew poll found that 53 percent of Americans think the U.S. will ultimately achieve its goals in Iraq.

Well, that doesn't make a damn bit of sense, based on the other survey results, now does it?

I've supported Dennis because he was against the war before there was a war and because he is one of the few who would even mention the "I" word. And he isn't always voting with the repubs, although some of his votes have surprised me. ie schip My original post was to speculate why he among only 3 dems would take this position and not even make an explanation as to why.

If 53% of Americans believe the US will "ultimately achieve its goals" in Iraq, maybe they could tell the rest of us exactly what the "goals" are, now. Over the past five years our purported goals have changed so often, I can't keep up.

Outside our national political scene for the moment but very ominious:

"A senior government official confirmed Tuesday the beginning of the first step in a process that could land Venezuela in joining North Korea, Cuba, Sudan, Syria and Iran as countries accused by the US State Department as supporters of terrorism."
snip
"The legal review came after Colombia claimed it has captured documents suggesting that Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez was in the process of providing $300 million to the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia, or FARC."

In my opinion, it would be a very big mistake to take such a provocative move. Do we want to pick a fight with most of South America?

Besides, according to Greg Palast, the "300" number found in an email in the seized computer probably referred to the 300 hostages that Chavez was in the process of negotiating release for - NOT $300 Million! Yet the MSM gobbled up the official U.S. inference.

Hillary Clinton apologizes to African Americans for husband's comments

File this under "Better late than never." The AP reports that Hillary Clinton apologized Wednesday night for Bill Clinton's comments during the South Carolina Democratic primary showdown with Barack Obama.

At a forum sponsored by an association of African American community newspapers, Clinton was asked about her husband's comments after Obama walked away with the South Carolina win in January. At the time, Bill Clinton pointed out that Rev. Jesse Jackson had won South Carolina in 1984 and 1988 -- campaigns that went nowhere. The comments were perceived as dismissing Obama's win, and many African Americans took umbrage.

"I want to put that in context," Hillary Clinton said Wednesday night. "You know I am sorry if anyone was offended. It was certainly not meant in any way to be offensive." She went on to say...
