Fox News infested by bed bugs.

bed-bug-pic.jpgFox News’s senior vice president for operations and engineering, Warren Vandeveer, admitted to the New York Times yesterday that Fox’s Midtown Manhattan newsroom was recently infested with bed bugs. “An exterminator determined that the incursion was limited to a ‘very small area in the newsroom,’” but added that the home of the employee who brought the pests into work had “the worst infestation he had seen in 25 years in the business.” Vandeveer says the bugs have now been “totally eradicated.” (HT: HuffPo)

Digg It!

Update A source at Fox News told ThinkProgress that the employee with the bed bugs infestation is no longer with the network.
Update TV Newser first reported on Fox's bed bug problem back in November.

Vandeveer says the bugs have now been “totally eradicated.”

But just to be sure, they’ll continue nit-picking Hillary and Obama.

  14. DaveE says:

If you lie down with dogs and get fleas, who/what do you have to lie down with to get bed bugs?

  15. Nevar says:

“…who/what do you have to lie down with to get bed bugs?”

    anyone and everyone

  16. Shayne says:

If only those were the most destructive creatures at Fox.

  17. sectionop92 says:

Shouldn’t a$$es like the Paster Hagee be saying this is a sign of the second coming…or that FOX News is the TRUE anti-christ?! If he’s a man of god, he’s gotta call’em by the interpretations or he’s just another loudmouth.

    Wait a minute….!!!!!

  18. tom says:

Wait, those were not bed bugs, they were the newscasters.

Friendly correction. FoxSnooze doesn’t have any newscasters. It only has washed-up mediocre weather-casters who have been promoted to their level of incompetence.

A plague on the House of FOX!
Why does God hate neocon water carriers?
Why was Karl Rove not properly deloused before entering FOX Headquarters?
How did the exterminater kill all the bugs without harming all the cockroaches that work there?
These stories and more about Barak Obama’s middle name at the top of the hour…

Vandeveer says the bugs have now been “totally eradicated.”

Let me guess, they invited Anne Coulture over, she dropped her panties, whistled an eerie tune and they all climbed back into their nest. Crisis averted!

  22. Zimzone says:

    But, were the bedbugs homosexual?

As noted above, Pastor Hagee is right; vermin, varmints, & other

    pests frequent that newsroom. SSDD.

  32. galmud says:

Is this why they had to fire Gibson?

US oil giant loses Venezuela case

A London judge has suspended a court order that froze $12bn of Venezuelan assets awarded to US oil giant ExxonMobil in a dispute over oil interests.

Judge Paul Walker said ExxonMobil had “no good arguable case” that Petroleos de Venezuela (PDVSA), Venezuela’s state oil company, had acted unjustifiably in taking control of two of its operations.

You’re more than welcome. Just as easily could have read:

…the last time John Bolton was on as a guest in our studios several interns commented on his continually scratching his mustache during commercial breaks. We reviewed our security tapes and discovered footage of Mr. Bolton in the greenroom releasing his minions into the couch cushions and compelling them to do his bidding. The bedbugs then proceeded to morph into Young Republican interns. This tape has since gone missing, however FOX is happy to report that they have seen no “bedbugs” since the incedent was first uncovered. Nothing to see here, move along…

  43. Fritz says:

Fox News infested by bed bugs. Sometimes there IS poetic justice.

  44. Zimzone says:

Who Who Who let the bugs out?

  45. moondancer says:

In related item, an infestation of vipers, asps, and hyenas were found by the exterminator as well. When he attempted to exterminate them he was informed they were the on air staff.

  46. twocents says:

Speaking of nit-picking Hillary…..I just found out that she was President of the Young Republicans at Wellesley College and volunteered as a Goldwater Girl!!!!

Now who in their right mind came of age in the sixties and joined the Young Republicans and loved Barry Goldwater!?!

Will any of you who have access to blogs in the future primary states, starting with Pennsylvania, blog this important information, please?

The democratic party, as well as the entire country, need a progressive candidate with good judgement, and I don’t think that’s Hillary!

  49. PatrioticLiberalChristian says:

At FOX, I would rather see the bed bugs stay and the human infestation eradicated.

twocents, come on! Many current progressives/Democrats started college as Republicans, myself included, because that’s the political environment they grew up in. They then “progressed” politically. There is nothing more potent than a “reformed” anything.

  50. CpnJustice says:

They fired the person because they had a bed bug infestation!!!! WOW! That seems more than excessive and is that legal?

  51. ralph the wonder llama says:

  61. twocents says:

Sorry, I am absolutely not a troll. I’m not even sure why you would think that I am!

I am two years younger than Hillary and happened to work for McGovern back then. I’m sorry if I find it disturbing that she was a member of the Young Republicans! This is the Nixon, Viet Nam, Beatles, Chicago Convention, protests, etc., era for crying out loud.

    Young Republicans!!!!
    Barry Goldwater!!!!
    Come on!!!!

  62. L. Hussein Annie says:

FWIW, twocents – the Republicans back in Goldwater’s day were most certainly NOT today’s scary right-of-Attila-the-Hun evangelical theofascists.

If Barry Goldwater was around today, the current Repukes would be deriding him as “a liberal.”

Besides, *I* used to be a Republican. Yes, it’s true. I voted for Nixon. The only excuse I can offer is that I was only 18 at the time, and I’m *much* wiser now. Older, too.

Where were you in the sixties? We had Jerry Falwell, Oral Roberts, Pat Robertson, and countless other evangelical whack jobs! Granted Nixon/Agnew look like milquetoast compared to the even more corrupt Bush/Cheney! But those were very polarizing and divisive times as well. I was sick to death to have my friends come back in body bags. Many a dinner was disrupted because of arguments with my right-wing republican father. It was an emotional time, and to find out that Hillary the head-nodder was “one of them” Young Republicans just drives me further into the Obama camp, thank you very much!

  72. Nevar says:

As for Obama, you mean the racist, homophobic man that bought a house for 300k less than it was worth from a contributor? Yeah, there’s nothing – republican – about that! At least Clinton lost money in whitewater, Obama just found 300k in the street!

I’m sick and tired of Hillbillies bringing up this nonsense. The only thing they find is a made-up story of a useless barren piece of dirt to complaint about. Comparing that to White Water and all Ms.former young republican has done is like saying an employee took a roll of scotch tape from the office and this is as important and of such critical value as the ceo embezzeling millions of dollars from inverstors and 401ks frpm the company. Give it a rest, open your eyes and learn the full story. Go post in billary imaginary artificial site.
