In the first ad buy for his re-election campaign, Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) — who is currently in Iraq with his close ally Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) — makes a “wholehearted embrace” (sub. req’d) of President Bush, using “footage of Bush praising Graham for basing his ‘votes on conservative principles.’” Watch it:
Graham campaign spokesman Scott Farmer tells National Journal that “Senator Graham will continue to stand with the president.” Just as with waterboarding, Graham appears happy to walk in lockstep with Bush and McCain.
Well at least he’s honest about it.
March 18th, 2008 at 10:30 amEmbrace away, TwinkleToes Graham! You can’t polish a turd though.
March 18th, 2008 at 10:31 amConsidering it’s South Carolina, Graham is just doing the politically expedient and smart thing to do. The divide in this country is as wide as it’s been in 150 years.
March 18th, 2008 at 10:33 amPass the tanker of KoolAide and warm up them bomber engines boys…we’re goin in!!!

March 18th, 2008 at 10:34 amOr maybe Lindsey-Wagner Graham is lobbying for the Veep spot with McCracy?
March 18th, 2008 at 10:35 amWhat these fools fail to realize is that the more they support this failed administration (failed in every respect of the word or description of the job), the less their chances of ever seeing the White House in 08 become.
March 18th, 2008 at 10:36 amHey

What does a warmonger smell like, anyway? Dung? Depleted Shitainium? Cheney?

March 18th, 2008 at 10:40 amZimzone, I think it’s a combination of self rightiousness and Aqua Velva
March 18th, 2008 at 10:43 amWhat worries me is that a lot of Native Americans will support McCain and HIS supporters because McCain has been one of the few people in Congress who has been an unabashed supporter of Native issues. And there’s no doubt that he’s done good for Native people in his tenure.
But, as I try to tell my fellow Natives who are pro-McCain… it doesn’t matter if they give you fancy new clothes if you’re on the Titanic… you’re still getting wet with everyone else.
March 18th, 2008 at 10:44 amWhat’s Graham’s appeal to his constituents, in an future, overwhelming democratically-controlled Senate? He won’t be in a position to steer contracts, set agendas, or reward the po’ folks back home. It’s like electing a backseat driver.
March 18th, 2008 at 10:46 amWhat principles are those? Bailing out bad business practices?
Bigger budgets? Bigger deficits? Inflation? War? Nation building?
March 18th, 2008 at 10:49 am“BFF”?

March 18th, 2008 at 11:08 am…like pieces of shit, swirling around in a toilet, just before the flush…
March 18th, 2008 at 11:08 amWell, considering that every word out of this War Criminals mouth has been a lie from day one, I would not take what he says to be worth a grain of salt. In fact that would mean that everything in that commercial would be a lie from the Worst President in History.

……funny how the idiot made a new name because he misspelled “Thecairngman”, LOL
Until Graham comes out of the closet, embracing his homosexuality, he will remain devoid of integrity. But maybe that’s how them redneck SC fellers like their men…
March 18th, 2008 at 11:58 amLindsey, Bush and all republican aren’t even grateful for the taxes that are in place so they can transfer the wealth to the well to do.
Most importantly, taxes made it possible for Bush to bail out his criminal buddies on wall street.
Do they ever give thanks to taxes?
You see, if the rich paid more taxes they would be supporting their ilk. The people shouldn’t get anything like say Health care for the tax dollars. The taxes need to be on the economic weak to pay for the cronies in the economic elite.
Got to put in place regulations to stop this………..
March 18th, 2008 at 12:12 pmVote him out and transfer him and his family to Mosul.
March 18th, 2008 at 2:03 pmSouth Carolina is a rather conservative state with a whole lotta Bush supporters there. Remember, this is the state that kept Strom Thurmond in the Senate past his sell-by date.
Graham is doing what he has to do to get re-elected. What’s going to be dangerous to McCain is if Graham’s campaign leaks beyond the state borders. Then a Bush-loving buddy might be the worst thing for McCain.
On the other hand, here in North Carolina we’re moving from red to purple. We’re the home of Fort Bragg and Camp Lejeune — two places with a lot of families who are proud of their loved ones in uniform, but sick and tired of having them away from home for deployment after deployment.
