Wright is the pastor of Obama’s church. While I can’t speak for Sen. Obama, I believe that the overwhelming number of people choose a church for social reasons and/or convenience. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard, “My pastor is a dink but I love the members of the congregation” or “I don’t care for the preacher much but the church is just down the block”. Holding someone responsible for the rhetoric of a “Holy man” strikes me as asinine. Especially when said person has denounced the rhetoric in question.
