Sens. Chris Dodd (D-CT) and Patty Murray (D-WA) called on Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Alphonso Jackson to resign today. Dodd cited Jackson’s “repeated failure” to answer questions about a variety of HUD scandals:
I do not believe Secretary Jackson is capable of effectively carrying out his responsibilities and the responsibilities of the Department of Housing and Urban Development. Now, more than ever, we need a HUD secretary who can devote his full energy to solving our nation’s housing crisis.
Dodd and Murray join Sen. Frank Lautenberg (D-NJ) and Reps. Henry Waxman (D-CA) and Barney Frank (D-MA), who have all called on Jackson to resign in the past. For more on Jackson, go HERE.

You’re asking someone in the Shrub administration to take responsibility for something?
Good luck. And when they do, say “Hi” to the Easter bunny for me.
March 21st, 2008 at 2:39 pmOooooooh, more sharply worded missives. Jackson is surely quaking in his Farrigamos.
March 21st, 2008 at 2:39 pmThis is long, looooooong overdue.
In an administration overcrowded with incompetent “loyal Bushies”, Alphonso Jackson has stood out as the least competent, most political of the bunch. Starting with the “apocryphal” story he told of yanking an applicant’s contract when he found out the contractor wasn’t a Bush supporter.

Ah yes. Do business with “the Bushies” and get harassed by the liberals.

Which is a little like saying “do business with the Mafia and get harassed by law enforcement.” Oh, the indignity!
March 21st, 2008 at 2:47 pmYes, it is about time that the man be asked to leave. He has always been a tool for the Bush administration.
March 21st, 2008 at 2:48 pmHowever, I don’t look for anything to come of this because there is no reason why incompetent people should choose to leave now when the administration will end in a few months.
Having never taken responsibility for anything in the past, there is no reason to think they will do so now — unless there is a lobbyist job available to him.

Are you seriously comparing the Bush family, the current President and the former president Bush to the Mafia? Jeez. That’s low.
Low, indeed. And true.

Frank conitnues his scoring slump.
March 21st, 2008 at 3:00 pmWell, it’s not like the Mafia Bushco is gonna pay any attention at all to this.
When has this Criminal Administration followed the law on anything?
All they do is ignore congresses input, call it State Secrets, Executive Privilege, and it’s not like they have anyone at all in positions that they are qualified for.
