The energy crisis of the 70’s was caused by the Middle East cutting supplies to the West. Plus the western powers failed in attempts to cultivate alternative power sources. Our reliance on the Middle East is because where there is other oil, i.e. the upper northern Artic regions of the world…it is either too deep at present to get at the source (why the Russians claimed the sea bed area with a fleeting flag) and requires billions in investment and development over the next 20 years to get it or where there is more easy to get sources, i.e. Alaskan wildlife refuge areas, there is too little oil to quell the demand. So in all reality, the Bush administration would invest in getting at a little bit of oil and playing footsie’s with Arab leaders rather than bitting down and expanding the industrial infrastructure. Then there is alternative energies and investing in that…but Bush talks out of both sides of his mouth on that.

And why is it that Rev. Wright is getting so much flak from you Republicans, but the Pastor Jerry Hagee can denounce my Catholic faith and make outlandish statements against gays & lesbians that, quite frankly, make him seem like a Nazi. Then you have Pat Robertson claiming to be a man of God, but saying we should assassinate Hugo Chavez on a nationally syndicated tv show. How can a leader of religion call for the death of anyone…especially a world leader? And when it comes to the Jewish faith, do you support what the nation of Israel does in relation to the Palestinians? The Six Day War to take back the Wailing Wall…going into Palestinian areas and occupying them without legal recourse, but in the name of religion? Don’t try to spin racism one way and think it can’t apply to every other fixture. My own Catholic faith was held to account after the Holocaust for allowing Jews and many others to be killed and rightfully so. You’re spreading your hate because you just don’t get what Barack Obama was trying to get across because you don’t like him and won’t find a reason to agree with him.

As for the 17 violated sanctions by Saddam’s regime…how many human rights violations has China, N.Korea, Burma committed over the years while we stand by and establish economic relations with China because of it’s 2 billion-plus populace? Why do we let N.Korea potentially let it build a nuclear arsenal while we stand vulnerable on the 38th Parallel? And what will happen if Pakistan falls into true chaos because the real threat in Afghanistan was let go because of your “17 violated sanctions”?! Pakistan does have nukes at the standby. If they fall, the results will be felt well beyond our borders because we didn’t know who the real enemy was because our president and his administration had to topple another nation for matters of rightousness and not reason!

I guess you’re not old enough to remember waiting on line for gas in the seventies because of the failed Carter administration.

As far as my Rabbi is concerned, I only brought him and her up because of the racism. The fact that Obama has the nerve to ask Americans to consult with their Rabbi’s and Priest on the incendiary speeches that they have probably made in the past. Nonsense!! You totally ignored the fact that Bush did not put 400+ page report on Iraq. You fail to acknowledge the fact that it’s not about WMD’s but about the 17 failed sanctions that are part of the report and part of the reason we went into Iraq. You left-wingers just focus on the issues that the report got wrong. The 400+ pages is not made up of large type that says, “We know they have WMDS. And you know for a fact that during the 17 sanctions that Hussein failed to meet didn’t give him a chance to move weapons around? If you believe that then your part of the problem and why someone like you will get us all killed. Peace, Love, DOPE! Is that your credo?

Then when we “win” so handily, the real battle would begin against the “insurgents, Al-Quida in Iraq, extremists”. But Bush doesn’t commit enough troops to quell the insurgency that has nothing to do with terrorism…since, it is primarily made up of the old Republican Guard…and we start losing troops en-masse because of gaffes like not having enough body armor or armored vehicles for the troops. So while the troops are dying, your NeoCon led a-hole president is saying how Iraq will end up like South Korea and Japan after we entered as occupiers. Wrong again!!! Five years later…after we decimated the infrastructure with our “Shock and Awe” campaign…Iraq needs a helluva lot more than just us to rebuild and billions in needed funds that aren’t there, that they need supplied by outside sources like companies and foreign investment. But if you’re a top military official, living in the Green Zone must be like Club Med compared to all the suffering outside the gates.

So just ask your “rabbi” this…would god want untold numbers of people to suffer because an inept leadership here in the United States has committed trillions to a failed policy, that has wrecked our economy…or do we have to “stay the course” because it goes against the overriding public opinion, that of veterans who have fought there and also those of troops who’s voices are mostly silenced because this administration suppresses their access to information over there and gives them “loyalty tests” to have a turkey dinner with their Commander in Chief?

So to those of you who don’t want to pay $5 a gallon of gas; talk to your congressmen about drilling off the Florida shores or drill in Anwar. Are you concerned about the Alaskan wildlife refuge? I am. However, I am more concerned about America’s economy and putting food on my table then the refuge. With that said, the drilling of oil in Anwar would not affect the refuge. Leftists would have you believe this just so we can have more government and be dependant on others. The Alaskan people can drill for oil. They are not amateurs. We know how to drill without damaging the environment. If you are one so concerned about the environment then why don’t you care about the people of Canada and Mexico and their environment when you drive your cars (Prius or Range Rover)? You can burn gas in your car while you think their environments deteriorate? If you disagree with that one then you must think they can drill for oil in a way that does not hurt the environment.

Money for schools vs. the Iraq war: If you believe in the statements of the Left that the money spent on the war would be better spent on schooling and the like then you have bought into socialism, Marxism, Stalinism. What about before the war? How come those trillions of dollars didn’t go to the schools and other programs you would want them to go to? In that respect both parties are guilty. We can’t keep taxing people to support the rest of the country. We all have to work hard if we want things for ourselves and for our children.

Because it doesn’t take much to get big ratings on cable, but when you move up into primetime, people don’t accept garbage (unless it’s reality tv…and politics doesn’t count in that entertainment arena). Just face it…morons who like to be massaged about their conservative views and/or like yellow journalism and like seeing entertainment disasters or the latest sex scandals line-up for FOX News’ crap.
