Peace be with all of them , their families, and their loved ones. Further deaths will not make theirs more noble.

I did a prayer the night before Afganistan and Iraq were attacked with our bombardment. I knew in my heart the children over there had to be terrified while the parents were trying to comfort them. I knew the women and men were scared too while pretending not to be for their children sake. I knew young men were expressing anger while repressing their own fears of what was to happen the following day. I hardly slept that night. The next day I could not watch t.v I was sick for I knew too well the end result of our actions.

Most of you here supported the war, most of you here didn't think for themselves. Most here did not feel powerless like I did but just imagined in your puny simpleton minds that it was going to be like you were told. "shock and awe" Why did 9-11 happened? These eight yrs later some of you still have no clue. Why does the world hate us? yes, sadly some of you still have no clue. Many of the soldiers that went to Iraq were as naive and brainwashed gun ho swallowing the Kool-aid, listening to the stupid music bum-bum into their ears to bomb-bomb the Iraqui civilians.

I was angry with the soldiers for a while there, did not understand that yellow ribbon magnet "support our troops" hoopla a few yrs back was all about, more Kool-aid stuff I guess. Now as they come back wounded and soul-hurt I see them opening their eyes, aware, and some even standing tall telling it like it is. I realized they have gone to hell and back already, they have grown and become better men and women due to that experience. I might now make a white ribbon in their honor for they know what peace is supposed to look like, they have seen the eyes of those they've hurt. I feel for the 4000 that died because who knows they could have come back to join those that have awaken to life and realized we are all one human race, Imagine!...still a hard lesson and at a heavy price. Maybe one day they'll realized they are better people for it and stop killing themselves. Too many deaths already.

Cheney is quoted as saying "the biggest burden of the war is on Bush, after all the soldiers volunteered." Yes, I can see that bush and laura are all torn up after killing our young people. And just why is it the biggest supporters of bush and the war are nice and comfy in their lives, instead of volunteering in what they believe ?
Are you also aware that 20,000 brain injuries have not been properly counted ? Soldiers on the ground know more of what is happening than the American press.

One thing that's clear, Kilo likes the neo-con agenda, and yet you'll never hear him criticizing his own country for not fully embracing the war on terror, or you'll never hear him suggesting they pay a larger share of the costs.

He likes his geo-political make-overs to be cost-free - to him.

You know what is sadly funny about this president and the current republican party? The democrats have effectively rolled on almost everything the president has wanted (wants and needs are two completly different things you know) but the dems could have give Bush everything he asked for and more, and the sad funny thing is that if we had been attacked again, he, and you and the rest of the republican party would have pinned all blame on the democrats.

The GOP can point fingers but they can't "point the way" (out of this disaster).

Kilo your implication in #150 may have been misread by me. Are you referring to deaths post invasion? If you are then you are not following the party line. The party line is that the death counts are exagerated and that figures of 100,000 are wrong. But you are saying hundreds of thousands. If that is the case then things are far worse than even I imagined.

I was of the thought that you were talking about the mass graves uncovered since the invasion that were rumored to be the work of Sadaam, but which in fact were the work of the Iran/Iraq war which we encouraged and supplied both sides. I only assumed this because of the afore mentioned party line on number of deaths in Iraq, because we all know how loathe republicans are to dissenting to what the king has to say. Am I saying there were no mass grave with politcal prisoners in them from the Sadaam era? Hell no, but the largest mass graves discovered were all from the Iran/Iraq war. Heck we even tried to claim a site where repatriated bodies from the war were being held was a scene of politcal prisoners being killed. I seriously wonder what we woudl find in countries such as Saudi Arabia should we ever choose to exercise our god given right to regime change in that country.

#166 the AUMF said nothing about removing the regime of Sadaam because we did not like them. It gave the president authorization to go in and remove the WMD etc... Which we did even though we knew in advance that WMD were not there. How else do you explain our actions on invasion? We made no effort to bomb or secure the WMD we said we knew they had and knew where they were. Does it bother you that the adminsitration said with dead certainty that they knew where WMD were located, yet lost track of them? When we did find supposed WMD sites we made a press showing of the affair with troops not even in MOPP 4 opening supposed drums of WMD, we knew nothing would be found, other wise the troops p[utting on the whow would have been dressed in MOPP4 and no press woudl have been allowed within miles of the place. As to the vote for the AUMF, for the first time in American History a president used an upcomming election cycle and the attendant politics involved to get a vote for war ram rodded through congress, eve as that president knew the information his adminsitration was supplying congress was incomplete, biased, incorrect and poorly presented. Does this make it right for DEMs to have supported the vote? Not at all, but the bigger crime/issue is the tactics used to push the vote through.

I seriously wonder what we woudl find in countries such as Saudi Arabia should we ever choose to exercise our god given right to regime change in that country.

#166 the AUMF said nothing about removing the regime of Sadaam because we did not like them. It gave the president authorization to go in and remove the WMD etc… Which we did even though we knew in advance that WMD were not there.

This is precisely what you get when Mel Gibson is questioned on the holocaust.

Ok, when you quote Mel Gibson as an authority on anything then we are done. I am flagging the rest of your posts.

BTW, if you read that and thought I was referring to Mel Gibson as a positive thing, the moderators must really love your input.

Kilo, I must say that you have failed to communicate to me one single train of thought that I could follow. If that is my fault then I apologize. I have read your posts and I do not understand what you are trying to say. This is a blog. We cannot see your face. You should try to commuicate your thoughts in a way that we(I)can understand. I honestly have no idea where you stand on anything and you have posted 20 or more times in this thread.....sorry...just sayin.

There are lots of people counting the dead because of bush's war. This link says we are not counting nearly all of them.

U.S. investigative researchers have discovered an official U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs official, but not well publicized count, of 73,846 U.S. soldiers who have perished as an apparent result of Depleted Uranium based bio-chemical warfare exposure.

Kilo @#134 are you going to pretend that the killing is not still going on? Are you going to pretend that the Surge is working because 1) we are now arming and paying the Sunni's who were previously the source of the vast majority of our casualties? becasue 2) Al Sadar has had his troops stand down for over a year? because 3) the sectarian cleansing has nearly been completed? Are you going to pretend that McCain could not go back to the "safe market" he visited with a company of US infantry last year/ Or that Bombs were going off killing people as the VP spoke in Iraq? Are you going to pretend that AQ in Iraq has nominal ties to BinLaden and has not been the source of all the carnage and chaos the white house would have you believe (If you believe the White House you call the comanders in the field liars, so which is it?) Are you seriously going to pretend that invading Iraq really was a good idea? Seeing as Sadaam and IBL were enemies and he was pretty much the main stumbling block to Iran becoming the major mid east power.

@3159 are you seriously going to believe that you have no clue as to the origin of many of those mass graves you talk about? Here's a hint, get in your way back machine and go back to the early 1980's to a time where we the united states encouraged iraq to attack Iran. As a result of that war hundreds of thousands died and were buried in mass graves. Funny thing, in 2003 when we invaded iraq and opened those mass graves the admins sold them as political prisoners being executed by the hundreds of thousands, yet the press exposed those graves as being form the war and the admin backed off their claims. Was sadaam an angel? Hell no, but he was not worth the efforts, lives, treasure and loss of national prestige that this adminsitration has invested.

How about this, Bush has very very very tight bonds with the Saudi's, the Kuwatti's and other oil barons. How about asking them to convert to democracy? Why not start with our suppsed friends and then have democracy flower througout the mid east as planned? I'll tell you why not, because the democracy issue is a sham and not really on their agenda. If it were then we would be pursuing that angle. This adminsitration only believes in democracy when it suits them and when they agree with the results. That's why we don't care for the Palestinian results or the results in Venzuela (thouh if CHavez refuses to leave when his term expires, I will lose faith 100% in him, but i give him the chance since his people voted him in.)

Are you seriuosly going to pretend that you have no clue as to what I am talking about?
