I’m sure all of you remember “Harry & Louise”. Well, everything that the Health Companies said the government run health care system would do, they have done. Plus the cost for health care has tripled or more. In the meantime reimbursements to doctors and hospitals are down. What does that tell you? Profits for the health care industry have risen dramatically.

It’s time for a single-payer hp nc6200 battery,hp nc6400 battery health care system. The Health Care industry has ripped us off long enough. It’s time to end their gravy train.

http://www.pbs.org/ wgbh/ pages/ frontline/ bushswar/
Tonight and tomorrow night on PBS. Can’t wait - need to set the recorder for this one. I think, though, I probably need to put something in front of the TV to protect it from things that might get thrown at it. I have tried posting this 2 times already and it keeps getting held for moderation. I cut out some of the text from the press release and will try again!

Bilbo Hussein Baggins Says:
March 24th, 2008 at 9:36 am
The New York Times reported that the Fed “was balking at the new offer price,” making it “possible” that the new deal could “collapse entirely.”

Ok, I’m confused. Why would the feds want JPMorgan Chase to offer Bear Stearns $2 a share rather than $10 a share? That would have been a great help to all the Bear Sterns employees who were stuck with worthless Bear Stearns stock.

Or the feds don't want to be responsible for that much money if things go belly up? If the feds promised JPMorgan Chase they'd cover any losses, then JPMC figures why not up the ante, if Sterns and Bear flops it't the tax payers who suffer, not them.

The World According to Monsanto - A documentary that Americans won't ever see

The gigantic biotech corporation Monsanto is threatening to destroy the agricultural biodiversity which has served mankind for thousands of years. The endless list of genetically modified seeds sold and controlled by Monsanto are putting at enormous risk age-old agricultural patterns under the presumptuous slogan of aiming at solving the huge problem of hunger in the world.

On March 11 a new documentary was aired on French television (ARTE – French-German cultural tv channel) by French journalist and film maker Marie-Monique Robin, entitled 'The World According to Monsanto' (Le Monde selon Monsanto[1]). Starting from the Internet over a period of three years Robin has collected material for her documentary, going on to numerous interviews with people of very different backgrounds. She traveled widely, from Latin America, to Asia, through Europe and the United States, to personally interview farmers and people in influential positions.

This is my spring break and I get to sleep in all week! I am on the left coast so it just looks like it is later than it is. Anyway, it is not just fuel that is affecting our food costs. Our good friends have offered us a piece of their garden if we can help with it. I really think that the food situation is going to be devastating for the global population and economy.

Glenn Greenwald at Salon dot com has a list (and links) of John McCains ties to religious extremists. It's quite lengthy.

It's up to you Obama supporters to get on the phone and call your favorite talk shows and make McCain's ties to these nutbags an issue. Or else continue to watch Obama poll numbers drop.

It's Item #1:

check this out:

Will Wall St. donations sway candidates?
Some Democrats fear undue influence by financial industry

By Janet Hook and Dan Morain
March 23, 2008

WASHINGTON - Hillary Rodham Clinton and Barack Obama, who have run for president as economic populists, are benefiting handsomely from Wall Street donations, easily surpassing Republican John McCain in campaign contributions from the troubled financial services sector.

It is part of a broader fundraising shift toward Democrats, compared to past campaigns when Republicans were the favorites of Wall Street. But some Democrats worry that the influx of money will make their candidates less willing to call for reforms to increase regulation of financial markets, which have been in turmoil following a wave of foreclosures on subprime mortgages.

These concerned Democrats argue that their candidates, and McCain, should be willing to push hard for financial institutions to accept more government regulation - in exchange for likely future bailouts, such as the recent deal the Federal Reserve orchestrated for JPMorgan Chase & Co. to take over Bear Stearns.

"I want to hear Clinton, Obama and McCain talk about a quid pro quo," says Jared Bernstein, an economist with the Democratic-leaning Economic Policy Institute. "If we don't hear it, especially from Democrats, it makes sense to ask why not and ask if they are inappropriately cozy with the financial services industry."

#37, dnfp
There were "victory" gardens during WWII.
After 5 years, and no victory in sight, people are forced economically to start their own "survival" gardens.
That's not a bad thing -- the Ag dept, the FDA, and all govt. agencies can't keep poisons from our food any way - so grown your own. It's cheaper and healthier.
