The vast majority of the media are white males or white females, who have white brothers, uncles, etc. If Obama made all of the misstatements and mistakes Clinton and McCain have, he’d not only lose, but his political career would be over. The media is attacking Obama about something he never said himself. Look at what the minsters (Rev. Hagee, Rev. Falwell, and others) whose endorsement John McCain asked for have said. Rev. Hagee called Catholicism “A whore religion”, and said “The Pope helped Hilter to kill Jews during WWII”. They ask why Obama didn’t leave his church after these remarks were made. I ask Catholics why they didn’t leave their church after Priest after Priest molested innocent girls and boys for decades? Why they didn’t leave the chuch after it became common knowledge that Archbishops covered up the abuse and moved these molesters from church to church.

Which one is worst, Rev. Wright making stupid extremist remarks or Priest molesting children. “Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me”, is a saying that all of us were taught as children. So the moral of the story is we are hurt by Rev. Wright, but not by child molesters. How much money did the Catholic church have to spend to pay these children. Rev Wrights words were dead wrong, but no children were physically or sexual hurt by him.

Why is there this double standard. Some of the very same ministers would endorsed McCain have said equally as offensive words, but the white media give him a pass. I’m not making this up, this story asks a question and I’m answering it truthfully. If am not right, then someone please show me that the majority of the media personalities are black and that blacks control the media in this country. So that part of my point is just pointing out the obvious.

You my friend or grossly misinformed. Medicare is the reason Health care is so expensive. Insurance has nothing to do with it. The Govt refuses to create networks like the insurance companies! So in order for hospitals to get the money they need they overcharge the govt. And we pay the same price they charge the govt. unless you are part of a network. Next time you are at the Doctor ask him about this!

Medicare pays out a set amount per service for facilities they typically pay out on the DRG, per diem. Hospitals can charge insurers / Medicare whatever the hell they want, it doesn’t affect their reimbursement.

In any case, without Medicare, most of the Seniors in this country would not be able to buy private insurance. Would you want to assume the risk of the healthcare associated with a 70 year old?

Anytime trolls try to change the subject, it means even they know, in their pointy little pinheads, they just can’t argue the merits of their party’s latest fiascoes, missteps, screw ups and outright lies.

Hence, why they so desperately try to change the subject.

You can Google all the Insurance profits you want but your wrong. socialized medicine is not the answer to our healthcare cost!! You’re just so convinced that everything corporate is all bad that you can’t even began to understand the real problem!

Eliminating profitablity from the healthcare industry is exactly the needed solution. It worked for other vital services: policing, mail delivery, firefighting, etc.

An excellent point. We hear all these alarming stories about people who need knee replacements having to wait three months to get one. If I needed a knee replacement, I would rather get one in three months than not be able to get one at all because my for-profit insurance provider refuses to pay for it — or because I don’t have insurance and could never afford to pay for it.

I heard about a guy who went into financial distress because because his ability to scam others for money backfired. The federal government offered him a ton in welfare. His name was…(trying to recall)…Stearns? I forget his first name.

All right, I’ll respond to your blather. First, “government” isn’t about to take over health care in this country, nor is anybody asking for that to happen. There is, however, a groundswell of support for our government to take over PAYING for health care — but the actual care would be provided by those providing it now.

Second, the correct spelling is “leeches”.

Third, nobody is claiming that insurance is a handout. Insurance is a money-making venture for the party selling it — whether it’s life, auto, fire, or health insurance. We want to do away with health insurance altogether and focus on health CARE, which should be a basic right.

Fourth, health care for “nothing” is unrealistic. Health care for “reasonable” is doable if we get the for-profit greedheads and the cherry-pickers out of the mix.

Expecting health care to be provided as a basic need is no more outlandish than expecting education, police protection, fire protection, roads and highways, or other services provided by the government. When you lose your health insurance because you are no longer profitable to your insurer, when your employer drops your health care benefits because they can no longer afford them, when you can’t find insurance because you have a pre-existing condition, you may see the light. People who say “it can’t happen to me” often find out it can.

Now, do you have anything to say about the subject of THIS thread?

Access to health treatment should not come in the form of some scrappy ‘policy’.

And listen, bum, don’t mouth to any of us about “handouts”. Red staters are the king of those.

You mutants are the laziest employees on the face of the earth. You mutants always seek to line your pockets for way more than you’re worth. Your pay is unequal to your measly work.

This is about humanity for the 21st Century.
