White House staff looking to depart ‘sooner rather than later.’

U.S. News reports, “[M]any senior and midlevel White House and administration officials are looking to land private-sector jobs sooner rather than later. And some officials report having a hard time recruiting replacements for those who are leaving. ‘I guess it’s just not attractive enough or they don’t see the value in it for your résumé,’ says a senior administration official who works for a top cabinet department.”

Yes, please. Sooner rather than later–and take that boss of yours with you.

  3. L. Hussein Annie says:

Yeah, having your bosses tried for war crimes just doesn’t look so hot on your resume….

‘I guess it’s just not attractive enough or they don’t see the value in it for your résumé,’

Oh, they see the value of it, a value no wants to have…..
They might as well put a red handprint on the cover sheet.

Interviewer: “Tell me about your strengths.”

White House Staffer: “Well, as an integral member of the Bush administration, surely you are aware of our record with respect to strategic planning and thinking, ability to change direction when reality dictates, and honesty.”

Interviewer: “Hmmm. Now tell me about your weaknesses.”

WHS: “Democrats. Oh, and logic and reason.”

These “private sector jobs”… are they, perchance, in countries that DON’T have extradition treaties w/ the US?

Methinks they have little confidence in their chances of holding over to the next administration. . .

What’s interesting this time around is that the economy is in the toilet.

I’m assuming ‘do nothing’ jobs, (stink tanks, Fux Gnus, Weekly SubStandard) will be harder to find, especially for those with no name recognition up front.

Having “Worked for Bush Administration” on your resume is like having “Worked for Mafia” on it, not a positive to be pointed out, by any means.

I guess this administration official just cannot fathom basically writing “complete incompetent” on one’s resume’/job application is somehow detrimental…………..

Hey, I thought Chief of Staff Josh Bolton said that anyone working in the White House after Labor Day 2007 was in for the duration.

  28. Jericho says:

they don’t see the value in it for their résumé

it = ‘working’ for the Bush-madministration.

    I couldn’t agree more.

  29. moondancer says:

Job interviews for this lot will sound more like cross exams at Nuremburg. ” I had no knowledge of that… I was following an order from up above, I dont recall what one above it was. I knew nothing about the money/firing/torture/rendition/wiretap/blood.”

Thats what I always liked about the GOP. They rale how bad Gov’t is and how they hate Gov’t. Get into Gov’t and express their hate for Americans though Gov’t. Show us how they can make it not work properly.

So their worried of their reseme and finding a private sector job.

BUT I THOUGHT AMERICA (BUSH ADM) WAS IN A WAR WITH AL QAIDA AND THE BALANCE OF THE WORLD WAS AT STAKE.

THESE LYING SELFISH PHONY GREEDY CRIMINAL.

The media should address everone that leaves as a “CUT AND RUNNER”……………………

  31. Robt says:

They “cut and run” to the private sector. But the Adm’s war is not won.

I’m sure our military personel will be elated to hear this.

Especially the troops on stop loss……………..

Now, this is much better. Cut down on the bold and learn when you should and shouldn’t use ALL CAPS and your posts go from being certifiable kook material that Bill O’Reilly uses to ‘prove’ that progressives are nothing but rabidly spewing hate-mongers to being hard-hitting posts of fact and opinion.

Whether this was the result of a TP moderator asking you to tone it down or a realization that you’re not helping us, I hope this is a turning over of a new leaf. This post was not flagged.
