Dodd: Jackson’s resignation was ‘the right thing to do.’»

Over in the Wonk Room, Senate Banking Committee chairman Chris Dodd (D-CT) guest-blogs and says that Housing and Urban Development Secretary Alphonso Jackson’s resignation was the “right thing to do.” He also calls on President Bush to appoint a new Secretary “who can devote his full energy to solving our nation’s housing crisis” — without the distraction of ethics investigations:

In this time of economic crisis and instability in the housing market, it is more important than ever that we have a HUD Secretary who is fully committed to addressing the challenges facing our economy. Given that Secretary Jackson is currently the subject of ongoing investigations into alleged misconduct at HUD, it became clear to me over the past few weeks and months that these investigations have been a distraction at a time when the HUD Secretary must devote his undivided attention to helping American homeowners.

This is where reality breaks from politics. A deeply corrupt criminal quits. A prominent democratic senator calls for this president to appoint someone that will do something. It is absurd to consider this call from Senator Dodd. He sounds like he has drunk the koolaid himself. This same president appointed the fellow that just quit. You have seen what his AG has done? He told you to screw off. What about his other appointees?

No, nothing. These senators do nothing but take tremendous amounts of time doing nothing. And this senator asks a criminal to be kind to the people and appoint someone good “this time”? We are not as stupid as to believe that any of you care to stop this treason?

didn’t think so. That would just be too radical. 100 times the amount of felony crimes compared to Nixon. Nixon was forced to resign to not go to prison.

    absurdity squared.

Like Rick and Ilsa always had Paris in Casablanca, the American people will always have this image of George W. Bush and Alphonso Jackson.

    Well said!

    “absurdity squared” A perfect description!

Yes, its good that one rat has been gotten rid of. Sadly it is rare that the rats get anywhere near the surface to do anything about them. They have over run Washington. A mass extermination is the only answer. And that won’t happen until Jan. 20 2009.

January 20, 2009″ The end of an error.

ANY time ANY Republican resigns it’s the right thing to do.

There you go, WoodGuy. Exactly the type of well thought out logic we’ve come to expect from the Radical Left.

Do the trolls think they fool anyone when they change screen names?

Do they think it improves their arguments?

Do they think it improves the way they smell?

Gee whiz, there have been so many resignations in this administration, I thought it was trendy and an “in” thing. Shrug Administration chronology: 10 get appointed during Congressional recess; 2) break the law; 3) resign; 40 go to work for a Republic think(sic)tank. Must study up on those Republic talking points. I’m sure you could help with that.

Ugh! Twotypos @12. The guy’s devastatingly vicious and unprovoked attack momentarily threw me off balance.

12 woodguy All you have to do is switch off your brain and listen to druggie limpballs or faux nooz.Be a DITTO-HEAD or an O’reilly fan.

    LMFAO,Bruce. Poor dog!

Sometimes I tune into O’Loofa, but only when the wife isn’t home–she freaks out. Limpballs, however, even I can’t stand; but I could be persuaded to relate a funny story about being forced to listen to his blather at work once.

as others point out and as we have seen time and time again - ANYbody bush appoints will be bad… the fact that any of his appointments have been allowed to pass - especially judges - makes congress complicit in the damage the abomination that is bush has done to our country; but also the fact that they haven’t removed him via a richly deserved impeachment makes it much more so. Justice is dead in America. RIP
