In recent days, Sen. John McCain has sought to distance himself rhetorically from President Bush’s foreign policy. But on right-wing radio talker Mike Gallagher’s show this past Friday, McCain struck a different tone, proudly declaring that “no one has supported President Bush on Iraq more than I have.” “Let me emphasize that there are many national security issues that I have strongly supported the president and steadfastly so,” added McCain.
Listen here:
Later in the interview, McCain reiterated that he has “agreed with the president on many issues,” though he said “there are some issues” they have not agreed on.

But he couldn’t rmemeber any recent examples.
April 2nd, 2008 at 5:33 pmMcCain was up Bush’s ass before he was residue from Bush’s ass.
April 2nd, 2008 at 5:40 pmflip flop , flip flop , flip flop…He must have went to school with John Kerry. And the Republicans think there going to win? There party is a joke, this candidate is a joke, and the current direction of this country is a joke. I never realized how much I love November.
April 2nd, 2008 at 5:40 pmI hope Obama’s people are recording all these statements for the general election ads, so they can play all versions of McCain’s various positions on each issue. “It’s up to the president” vs “I called for Rummy’s resignation”. “I’m opposed to torture” VS his vote against outlawing waterboarding, and support of Bush’s veto of the bill. And on, and on…
April 2nd, 2008 at 5:42 pmIf he were not still dangerous I’d feel sorry for him. He can’t even remember who he’s pandering to anymore.

Election year. 3 candidates. 1 newsworthy struggle between candidates. Where to progressive voters turn to for all their news on the 1 candidate they’ve already decided not to vote for and none relating to the Democrat candidates ?

April 2nd, 2008 at 5:43 pmI’m sure Barack will have McShrub’s past statements like this
ready and waiting in the wings at the first debate. My guess is that McShrub will fumble, flummox, and flounder when asked for specifics.
Then again, the corporate media will immediately declare the debate a “tie” while allowing that McShrub “perhaps misspoke on a few minor points.”
April 2nd, 2008 at 5:44 pmMcCain closed by saying that he would be proud to have Bush’s support and to have Bush campaign with him. That is just as telling as supporting his policies.
It has been something which I have wondered: whether McCain would be his own worse detractor on policy issues; simply let him speak his mind truthfully and frankly.
April 2nd, 2008 at 5:45 pmI hope he keeps this message up! Associating yourself with herr dubyah and his failed war will sink a candidate faster than an iceberg did to the Titanic.

Please, go back to your ESL class. One thing is clear about your post though: Think McCain. You’re right, he’d better learn how to do that before he takes the stage with Obama or he’ll embarrass himself.
April 2nd, 2008 at 5:48 pmCould McCain possibly flip-flop any more if he campaigned under a “flip-flop” banner? Every day we read about him changing his comments depending on his audience. Every day we read about how totally stupid he is about Iraq & Iran. How this man is getting any support is beyond anyone with any sort of brain. Which, I guess, is why Fox & Repubs are suddenly so enamored of him. Remember when Fox hated him? Now he’s their poster boy! Hypocrisy, thy name is Republican.

April 2nd, 2008 at 5:53 pmMcCain Said ” I’m proud to have the Presidents support and I would be proud if he campaigned with me”
Is this so they can have more bonding moments??. I think McCain needs a hug. “Everywhere he goes AFL CIO is saying to him it will be a continuation of Bush 3.” Gee I wonder why..
He had to chuckle on that point, it sounded like he was embarrassed. He should be.
Everyone is telling you, you can’t think on your own. Did you ever think they might have point… NAH!!! I forgot senilitity is setting in.
April 2nd, 2008 at 5:54 pmAttention!!! Fish Still On Deck!!!
April 2nd, 2008 at 5:56 pmSorry for the OT…
I had a little fun over at TPWatch today. I feel guilty giving them the hits… But this is priceless. Lieberman lies about residual US troops history, TP posts it, calls it what it is. TPWatch says TP smeared Joey L… Except they spelled his name wrong…so horribly wrong…in the Headline. I corrected them in the comments (on other things as well of course). They changed the spelling, without comment.
I say changed and not corrected because they spelled it wrong… Again…
So I corrected them, again. Sometimes feeding the trolls is like a badly addictive drug when they’re this comical.
Go check out the hilarity in the Lieberman thread there if you want to give them hits. I probably gave them too many already.
April 2nd, 2008 at 5:56 pmand sorry for the decidedly not turned off bold there…
April 2nd, 2008 at 5:57 pmLT, so little time, so many morons.
April 2nd, 2008 at 5:57 pmSo there you are, all of you, wanting 4 more years of George. You got your man. Oh, by the way more Generals are calling for a draft, so all you bush supporters either sign up or let your kids sign up. That is since you support war.

About time, I’d say. If there is really a draft, they won’t have a choice (Republic congressmen’s kids excepted, of course).
April 2nd, 2008 at 6:01 pmMcCain later: I was for the president before I was against him. And then I was for him again.
April 2nd, 2008 at 6:02 pmName three.
April 2nd, 2008 at 6:05 pmMcCain hsen’t even been elected, yet, but he’s already breaking (campaign finance) laws. He “agreed with the president on many issues”. Just today, TP has articles of Bush’s lawbreaking concerning the border fence and overruling laws against military assault. It’s a given that McCain agrees the president has a right to break laws.
April 2nd, 2008 at 6:43 pmMr. McFlipflop, shrubs new poodle. For the record there was a time that I would have considered McCain, but he lost me when he abondoned his honor and started licking dufusmcbush’s backside.
April 2nd, 2008 at 6:47 pmYet another flip-flop by McSame– just a day or so ago, he vowed that his campaign had nothing to do with Bush & the Bush admin. policies, beliefs, etc. This man could not be more two-faced if he had 2 heads.
April 2nd, 2008 at 7:10 pmHey! Johnny! Got that jock strapped washed and ironed yet?
April 2nd, 2008 at 7:35 pmPass the popcorn please…
April 2nd, 2008 at 8:30 pmGood Lord — the fish on deck has gone beyond flopping. It’s now gyrating like a buzzsaw. Can McCain keep track of what he’s said on what day and to whom?
April 2nd, 2008 at 8:32 pmI can’t wait to see McPander Bear choke on Dick…
Cheney’s failed foreign policy.
April 2nd, 2008 at 10:15 pmI suggested nothing other than a summary of what this site posts. If you are happy with that you could always say so.
I don’t know why you would think I was suggesting ignoring the only candidate running in this presidential campaign. That would leave you with no coverage of what you’ve been waiting for for 4 years.
In fact, since it’s 2008, the McCain website probably has an RSS feed you could plug straight into if these updates aren’t enough. Anything to drown out the existance of those pesky fkn Democrat candidates.
April 3rd, 2008 at 6:23 amSuch wit and intellect on display. Your parents must be proud and/or siblings.
April 3rd, 2008 at 6:26 amYeah that’s generally how it works with the breaking of the campiagn laws. During the campaign rather than after it.
April 3rd, 2008 at 6:28 amSorry, was it me or you who comes here to whine daily about the executive branch you have ?

April 3rd, 2008 at 7:29 amWho do you want to answer the 3 am call? A person on the edge? Ready to go to war without all the info? Someone who makes a mistake and never says sorry? Or someone who made the right call from the start? Stop it Mac (and HillBillary). HillBillary, the 3 am ad is just fear mongering. Americans aren’t scared easily. Question is – who you going to call? Ghostbusters because you saw something in your neighborhood? http://angryafrican.net/ 2008/ 04/ 01/ its-3-am-who-you-gonna-call/
April 3rd, 2008 at 9:16 amHooYa. Another 100 years in Iraq!
I wonder if McCain is on all 4’s when he turns around and askes
“Thank you sir! May I have another?” as dubya is smacking him hard in the ass with a paddle?
April 3rd, 2008 at 10:53 am>Election year. 3 candidates.
2 candidate. Thanks for pushing the limpbaugh meme, but hillary can’t win the nomination. There will be no superdelegate coup, especially not against the democratic party’s first viable black candidate. Additionally I suspect this blog doesnt want to pick sides in the hillary/obama catfight (against i say catfight and not campaign because hilary has no realistic chance anymore) . They are doing what any smart left winger should do.. concentrate their rhetorical fire on mccain..
April 3rd, 2008 at 11:25 amReference to the existance of Hillary Clinton in the presidential campaign is “pushing a rush limbaugh meme” is it ?
April 4th, 2008 at 4:05 amThe alternative reality based community, hard at work.
It is indeed true that other person has supported President Bush and his war than Mccain at the expense of our man and women in uniform. Yet, it seems that he wants to ignore them when his help is needed to ensure that they have better educational benefits available.
More than 51 Senators have now endorsed the bill sponsored by Senator Jim Webb of VA. and co-sponsored by Chuck Hagel of Nebraska, which would almost double Veterans’ benefits. They are calling upon John Mccain to endorse it…he has refused to do so thus far.
Here’s a man who’s relying on Veterans’ votes to be elected
April 4th, 2008 at 1:19 pmas President; but, refused to help them out. What’s going on?
and this certainly tells us everything we need to know how he feels about this debacle of an occupation………………..
