People in Seattle do not consider any part of California to be part of the PNW — that distinction belongs to Washington, Oregon, and Idaho. And some purists exclude Idaho because it doesn’t border the Pacific Ocean (but they DO include British Columbia).

People in San Francisco and the surrounding area — not to mention all of northern California — don’t consider themselves part of the PNW.

People in Los Angeles and points south DO consider San Francisco to be part of the PNW — actually, they consider everything north sony vgp-bpl2c battery, sony vgp-bps2 battery of Bakersfield to be PNW.

Now, as far as the “sinfulness” goes of these areas? People are sinful all over. Even going by Daryll’s definition of “sin” which appears to include only sexual “sins”.

Last week, Dobbs caught himself just before he uttered a racial slur when referring to Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice.

I know that a lot of people who recognized that the words "cotton-pickin" were on his lips saw this as a racial slur, and yes, it is a phrase with racially charged origins, but let's be fair. It is a phrase that has been a part of certain American vernaculars for so long that many people using with out intending it to have any racial connotation whatsoever. Yes, it's archaic and in our own progressive time even a bit backwards, but it's an old saying equivalent to "gosh-darned". Besides, when he used it, he was referring to a group of politicians reflecting Condolezza Rice's sentiments, not specifically about her.

I truly despise how so much of our media has been turned into a "he-said-she-said" affair, where progress is stalled by its particpation in the political mudslinging extravaganza, and I expect you, ThinkProgress to rise above it. I hope you will.

Daryll - April 4th, 2008 at 11:00 am
SF is located in the northern portion of California and is not far from Oregon.

This is true, if you are looking at a map. It's even closer if you are using a world globe.

Out here in the real world, San Francisco is rather far from Oregon. You've never been here have you?

Alot of people in SF, Palto Alto, etc., consider themselves part of the northwest.

I don't know what constitutes "A lot of people" in your deluded tiny little pointy head, but most people in the Bay Area consider themselves exactly that Bay Area, or Northern California. NorthWest? Not a chance.

Now we know you are 1)not Black, 2) not Christian, 3) not very bright, and 4) not good at geography.

What is the purpose of Lou airing this segment, other than to highlight how sensitive he is to criticism. What’s up with that, weirdo. Since he is an alleged professional newscaster, this sounds a tad bit whacky to me. Sorry Lou, I agree with Ted, your nuts.

Love the Buffett, especially when visiting St. Thomas (One Particular Harbor)

A Pirate Looks at Forty pretty much sums up my life (well, except the part about having enough money to buy Miami).

One of my favorites, I used to play every time I practiced, was "Peanut Butter Conspiracy" =)

Yes I am a pirate
200 years too late
The cannons don't thunder
There's nothing to plunder
I'm an over 40 victim of fate
Arriving too late, arriving too late.

Daryll, we are the people our parents warned us about.

I have been to war, and shed blood. I am divorced. My hobby I play rock and roll in some fairly wild bars ( and some country =). I date women and sleep with them, and I have no plans to marry again.

I also investigate "hauntings" ( yeah, like TAPS, but I don't do a show ) and religious "miracle" claims as another hobby, scientifically. All of the other people I team with are professionals, police, firemen, scientists and techno geeks, like me. We usually debunk 80% of all "hauntings" we check out ( hard to explain objects seemingly moving on their own volition, as opposed to finding squirrels in the attic =). About 99% of all religious "miracle" claims are debunked as frauds.

We Are The People Our Parents Warned Us About
By: Jimmy Buffett
1983

I was supposed to have been a Jesuit priest or a Naval Academy grad
That was the way that my parents perceived me
Those were the plans that they had
But I couldn't fit the part too dumb or too smart
Ain't it funny how we all turned out
I guess we are the people our parents warned us about

You know I coulda worked the rigs when the money was big
Or hopped a freighter south to Trinidad
And when they tried to draft me I earned a college degree
Buyin' time 'til things were not so bad
But then I got a guitar found a job in a bar
Playin' acid rock 'til I was numb
Tell me where are the flashbacks they all warned us would come

Chorus:
We are the people, they couldn't figure out
We are the people our parents warned us about

Having lived in Seattle, the San Francisco Bay Area, AND southern California, I can tell you that:

1) People in Seattle do not consider any part of California to be part of the PNW -- that distinction belongs to Washington, Oregon, and Idaho. And some purists exclude Idaho because it doesn't border the Pacific Ocean (but they DO include British Columbia).

2) People in San Francisco and the surrounding area -- not to mention all of northern California -- don't consider themselves part of the PNW.

3) People in Los Angeles and points south DO consider San Francisco to be part of the PNW -- actually, they consider everything north of Bakersfield to be PNW.

Now, as far as the "sinfulness" goes of these areas? People are sinful all over. Even going by Daryll's definition of "sin" which appears to include only sexual "sins".

Oh -- and a note to Lou: Despite what you've heard, there are more heterosexuals in San Francisco than there are gays.

Oh — and a note to Lou: Despite what you’ve heard, there are more heterosexuals in San Francisco than there are gays.

Daryll Says:
April 4th, 2008 at 11:00 am

SF is located in the northern portion of California and is not far from Oregon. Alot of people in SF, Palto Alto, etc., consider themselves part of the northwest.

You are such a liar! SF is "close" to Oregon if you consider 8 hours driving time "close." I grew up in the Bay Area, and there was no way anyone considered themselves from the Pacific Northwest.

God hates liars. You better try to make this right, Daryll.

Daryll Says:
People in the North-western portion of the United States are independent thinkers and are not superstitious. We must continue to party with them.

Thanks for the compliment, you superstitious fool.
