Drudge hijacks headlines to peddle global warming denial.»

Continuing his constant, unrelenting assault on the science of global warming, Matt Drudge posts these misleading headlines on the Drudge Report today:

drudge

Do the stories behind these headlines tell the tale that global warming alarmists have “hijacked” the political debate surrounding global warming, despite a “lack of natural disasters” and no rising temperatures “since 1998″?

Quite the opposite, actually. The Wonk Room explains.

Drudge’s site is pure BS, I never go there anymore, not worth a second of my time to read his Reichwing Propaganda.

The Drudge Report has less truth in it than World Weekly News. Heh.

  4. hanshiro Says:

Clicking betwixt the various reich-wing sites and the TP blog, breathlessly reporting the latest “outrage” oozing from the paid idiocy that is Drudge, Fox, etc. is a useless exercise. As with “Intelligent Design,” the ridiculousness is both acute and shameless.

Sites such as Mediamatters do a real service in documenting the myriad fabrications in the Pravda-vehicles of Limbaugh, Drudge & Fox, but individuals and progressive sites crowing about the most recent Fox talking head slapdown, (pundits whose professional desperation brings them to an acknowledged and extremely biased “nutwork,”) asinine right-wing “headline,” and the paid raving of third-rate bullies seems like a waste of writing talent. Imagine Bill Moyers or Seymour Hersh devoting any precious journalism space to the likes of Beck or Drudge, save as a passing pejorative.

Few people continually sniff at the deluded zeal of the Intelligent Design crowd simply because it’s already accepted that these poor ignorant fanatics are detached from anything remotely resembling reality. It takes a special kind of psychotic denial to posit that the dinosaurs were loaded onto the Ark…

Looking at the last 8 years and the constant smiley-faced denial of the bastard republicans, there emerges a similar desperation in the rejection of all factual information in favor of only that phrasing and verbal manipulation that supports their delusive incompetence, (and, of course, renders themselves blameless and their enemies craven and liable..)

By now, republicans and their mouthpieces/defenders are nothing more than paid weasels who contain not a shred of integrity. The only people who remain to patronize Drudge, watch and support Fox or listen to Limbaugh are a mass of a determinedly ignorant segment of the population who will reject any indication, however blatant and undeniable, that their woefully uninformed and racist heroes are playing them for the passive suckers that they prefer to remain.

In other words, saying O’Reilly did something stupid, dishonest or racist, or Drudge was proven spectacularly wrong, again & again, will elicit nothing from the slack-jawed Fox-stituents, and from the grown-ups will bring forth the resigned and parental, “Well, duh. Why are you wasting your time on that junk?”

    Why, indeed?

(This is a retooling of another post I wrote. Seemed also appropriate here.)

I dunno, if you actually go to the articles instead of just reading the headlines the picture is what it is. I am just wondering if the three outlets he linked to are considered to be in the tank for the Oil companies. I think of the BBC as fairly left leaning…perhaps I am mistaken.

IF there is any global warming, it is not man-made. It is arrogant to think that it is
    —-

I can accept as science does that to be 100 percent confident of anything is arrogant. I am just curious why you do not find it arrogant to make your first statement. See the conundrum you have placed yourself in? That aside I am also interested in your qualifications to make such a declaritive statement. I am assuming you have some pretty snappy credentials. Would you mind sharing them with us?
    thanks-

  17. zionistdog Says:

    What are Al Gore’s credentials?

  18. zionistdog Says:

No only is he a POLITICIAN conjuring fears in the public, now the science that “PROVES” global warming is indicating no such thing!

  19. zionistdog Says:

I would think the GLOBAL WARMING ALARMISTS would be HAPPY that 3000 probes placed in the ocean by NASA show that the temperatures are actually cooling. Good news for the planet…right? Bad news for Al Gore…

Coming soon to theatres: “A Convenient Truth” - Carbon Credits are non-returnable and non-refundable.

  21. zionistdog Says:

How dare Matt Drudge link to stories by LEFT WING media outlets questioning the validity of “Global Warming”? Isn’t that heresy in the church of Al Gore.

  22. zionistdog Says:

BBC is probably going to get shut down for this blasphemy. Especially if Liberals controls the airwaves…this kind of dissention will NOT be tolerated in our free and open-minded society.

  23. dbadass Says:

Okay fellows as is usually the case, I need you to put forth a coherent explaination why you have organizations and nations across the globe involved in this issue, select committees on the topc in the US Congress, Military strategists planning contingencies, insurance agencies basing policies on the issue, and multinational planning for how to deal with an issue that a bunch of internet nobodies say is a nonexistent probelm. Does that really make any sense? How can these nobodies be so more informed? Please explain.
    thanks

Do tell. This post seems to show a lack of comprehension as to how science works. Didn’t the Supremes have a thing or two to say about climate and the administrations response to it? Since I don’t think they could be called a liberal bunch I tend to wonder what they were thinking.

  35. zionistdog Says:

You take 100 years of ‘data’ and extrapolate that over the entire life of the planet, about 8,000,000,000 years, and decide that without a doubt, the planet will burst into flames in the next 20 years.

‘Data’ is in ” because the sources of the ‘data’ are questionable to begin with!!! My meteorologist gets the forecast wrong for the afternoon, and we’re supposed to trust a 20 forecast based on 100 years of ‘data’?

  36. zionistdog Says:

And, by the way, your last bit of ‘data’ shows a cooling…shall we now prepare for an ice age? Do carbon credit prevent Ice Age as well as Spontaneous Combustion?

  37. tombaker Says:

43 - it’s all been heard, from better than you, ten thousand times before. your bunched panties don’t mean squat, here or anywhere else, and your woeful misapprehension of scientific matters is nothing more than testament to the failings in science education in our schools.

just the same, though - you sit right here and type yourself stupid repeating everything you’ve ever heard about it. we’ll all be sure to study it carefully. have a killer friday night.

  38. zionistdog Says:

The Earth is ‘alive’. It changes. It heats, cools, grows, shrinks, and even repairs itself. You can’t judge by how it was over the last 100 years to decide we’re destroying it!!!! The entire planet has been tropical AND ice covered, BEFORE SUV’s. There are currenly mountains were there were once plains, and plains were there were once mountains! Islands appear and disappear with fluctuating sea levels, and this has been happening for 4,000,000,000 years!

Ice core data exists for a far greater window. The addition of the burst into flames comment reinforces the lack of objective thought you continue to display. Again may I ask for your credentials. Your meteorologist is not a climate specialist. Your meteorologist is a “weatherperson”. May I again ask for your credentials in this area of study? I am not a climate scientists but I do hold multiple degrees in science discipline so I have a grasp of the process which is science.

  40. zionistdog Says:

46: The fact that you’ve heard this “thousands of times” and can’t get it through your dense head simply illustrates your blind following of the Religion of global warming.

Your science also assumes a STATIC global temperature. Yet you still believe the world has undergone ice ages.

    Your science contradicts itself.

    —-

Whose science? Please explain your suggestion that anyone suggests that temperature doesn’t change.

  42. tombaker Says:

It’s cold in my refrigerator, therefore global warming is a hoax.

Behold, the power of Righty Science!!

  43. zionistdog Says:

“May I again ask for your credentials in this area of study? I am not a climate scientists but I do hold multiple degrees in science discipline so I have a grasp of the process which is science.”

Oh really, care to fax over your diplomas and transcripts?

“Ice core data exists for a far greater window.”

So, there has simply been a continual build up of ice since the beginning of time until the invention of the combustion engine…Is that your position???

  44. tombaker Says:

The Earth is really old (unless you’re at Church), and that means we don’t know anything about it - therefore Global Warming is a hoax.

    Another Milestone in Righty Science!!!

  45. tombaker Says:

I can kind of use the word “static” semi-correctly, therefore Global Warming is a hoax!!!!

Somebody call the Nobel Committee - Righty Science is a shoe-in!!!

You are too kind. Certainly education is valuable in any field but I think the real issue here has less to do with degrees (unless we mean in terms of that whole kinetic theory of matter business) and more to do with the sincerity of others to share ideas in a respectful unbiased manner. These gentleman appear unsuited for that dialogue. Again enjoy your evening and weekend that GIS workshop tomorrow is gonna be a long one considering the time I will return this eve. Look forward to catching you another time around these parts.

Sorry but I don’t follow you. My point is this: you made a very declaritive statement in #18. I on the other hand have made no such statements declarying any specific position. It appears that you are making an assumption with your “your side” type statements. As to 82, I believe I specifically pointed out that this is not my specific field of study thus it follows that I claim not to be the sure of all knowing knowledge. You claim an open mind yet post such as #18. Please explain the juxaposition of this

  65. dbadass Says:

I still wonder why my question at 31 which is a variation on the one I post everytime this topic comes up is never addressed by anyone.

Actually, this UK documentary does explain how man-made SUV kinda gasses are responsible for changes in the environment.

Watch it, you might learn something. I know, it’s rather long for some people, but 45 minutes of your life might enlighten you a bit. Grab a beer…it’s a good flick.

this isn’t “where to go” for in-depth scientific information, and no one said it was.

this blog is just a blog, not an institute for remedial scence education.

maybe start with a subscription to National Geographic, and see where that leads you after a couple of years.

you made your comments, they were read, and that is that - there is no more to it. no one “wins” or “loses” or “earns a degree”. no public policy intitiatives “make it or break it” here.

  68. RUCerious Says:

Of course the earth’s temperature and atmosphere change over time. The issue is that it IS heating up. And our particular place on the planet, with regard to food production, population increase and pollution from industrialized nations and industrializing nations is, in the opinion (not fact) of the peer reviewed scientific community, is in jeopardy. I’d like my daughter to grow up in a viable world, so sacrificing a few things and greening up doesn’t seem to be such a difficult thing.

  69. Ms_Joanne Says:

RUC, it’s difficult for people who think as some of these posters do that it’s all bogus and why should I do something that that anti-christ Al Gore said I should do. I mean, really, AL GORE!

That’s all it comes down to. Intelligence is repugnant to those people. Science is crap. And c’mon…AL GORE! HELLO!

Put it this way, if Rush or BillO or [fill in your favorite right wing nutcase here] was for it, it would be god’s word.

  70. John Kerry Says:

Can’t you wacked out libs READ or understand!!

WHat does this mean to you libs?

“Global temperatures will drop slightly this year as a result of the cooling effect of the La Nina current in the Pacific, UN meteorologists have said.

The World Meteorological Organization’s secretary-general, Michel Jarraud, told the BBC it was likely that La Nina would continue into the summer.

This would mean global temperatures have not risen since 1998, prompting some to question climate change theory. “

And I could go on and on but if you want to read a LOT more about the man made global warming scam go here and ENJOY!!
