Boortz on his inability to use a floor buffer: ‘I would make a lousy Mexican.’
On his radio show today, right-wing radio host Neal Boortz — who has a long record of disparaging immigrants and minority groups — claimed, “I would make a lousy Mexican.” Asked why by his engineer, Boortz responded, “Well, because I wanted to scrub the hangar floor the other day, so I went and rented one of these big buffers,” later adding: “I turned on that buffer, and it damn near killed me! It was dragging me across the hangar floor, throwing me around like I — it was like a dog shaking a cat or something like that. You know, that’s skilled labor.” Media Matters has the audio here.

Even worse than his thinking it a compliment is that it’s an insult, ie, he thinks that given a fair wage, a US citizen STILL wouldn’t be able to do it… just because he can’t.
This all goes to prove that he was one among many who have been kicked upstairs into positions of leadership because those of us who do “real” work had to get these goofs out of the way so we could get something done.

It is counter productive and self-serving. It damages our society and we should collectively eradicate it from our civil discussions.
This hatred of others spills over into other areas like class issues. These people have enough hate to go around and we should stop letting them poison our daily lives.
I believe in freedom of speech but somone is paying him to be on the air saying these things…..those financiers need to be informed that this is not what we as consumers want to see and if you finance it or support it with your advertising then we will not buy your products………

I’m Hispanic, but I think the comment was funny. Sometimes people say stuff that’s not meant the way it sounded. In fact I just read some funny stuff made by TV commentators, like this one:

It is sad to hear how Boortz has become dependent of workers to perform the slightest tasks for him. No wonder he like the exploiting of immigrants and the “Fair Tax” that would provide him with more selfishness and less societal connection.
But Boortz on the radio is that of his experience buffing the floor he described. So where’s the talent that puts him on the radio? Is it in his friendly connection with the well to do that will spend to spew their gated community thoughts of the rabble?
