To get back to a serious tone: Dana’s assertions are ludicrous.

If nothing else, Pope Benedict sure ain’t no idiot and he can be assertive. The only way that they will avoid certain subjects is if the Pope decides that Chimpy is so far out of touch that there is no point in talking to him. (Theological term: invicible ignorance).

And good ol’ Daryll, like all hideous parodies of men, has scurried into a dark room when we hold a mirror in front of him. What a pathetic waste of resources. And to think it manages to achieve such loathsomeness through perverting such a wonderful message.

I suppose it takes a lot of spells and incantations to recover from such a spiritual shellacking. Plus a certain amount of begging to whatever grisly image of Christ Daryll keeps in his heart.

So-called “Christians” have to go into all sorts of contortions in order to justify war, especially a war of aggression. The entire New Testament has to be ignored, as Daryll always does on a thread like this. “There’s a lot of wars in the Bible.” Yes, Daryll, there are a lot of wars in the Old Testament. Of course, whenever anyone else references the Old Testament and suggests Daryll should lay off the pork and seafood, he assures us that those books are just for cherry-picking and the New Testament is the Law. And then proceeds to cheerfully ignore everything Jesus ever said about “turning the other cheek”, caring for the poor, chastising the rich and the pious . . . I don’t believe I’ve ever read a single word from Daryll that had any connection at all to Jesus’s words.

Wow, Darryl. You’ve managed to bear false witness against Pastor Jennings, the Pope, George Bush, 66% of the Continental U.S. and every Christian preacher who opposes ALL war. Not to mention all the people you will never meet, study or understand, yet still manage to presuppose what they believe. Then you admit your perverted lusts as well?

I don’t even believe in an immortal soul and I wouldn’t build up that many sins in one thread. Some things I prefer to not have on my conscience. Today won’t make a good chapter when you get to read your passage in The Book of Life.

BTW, Daryll. Did you ever notice that “conscience”, a universally admired virtue, can’t be spelled without “science”. Personally, I prefer to base my conscience on science. Basing it on hate, like you, would make me crazy.
