During MSNBC’s Hardball today on the campus of Villanova University, a questioner asked John McCain why Hillary Clinton recently took a shot of whiskey. Asking a slanted question worthy of Fox News, the student said, “Do you think she’s finally resorted to hitting the sauce just because of some unfavorable polling?” Watch it:
Politico’s Jonathan Martin reports that the questioner was Peter Doocy, the son of Fox & Friends anchor Steve Doocy. Martin writes, “Peter Doocy…is a junior here and a spitting image of his father.” Spitting image in more ways than one it seems.

Why do the GOP, Fox News members and their sons have such a high representation of gays? Turnabout is fair play. But, this kid looks a bit goofy, if you know what I mean.
April 15th, 2008 at 8:39 pm“Hitting the sauce” in the minds of these Neocon fools is tantamount to an unprecedented endorcement. After all, look what a little “sauce” accomplished for King George the Dumb.
April 15th, 2008 at 8:45 pm[I] now fully understand the creative process involved in making up the news everyday.
~Peter Doocy, Fox & Friends.
“Making up” stuff?
Yep, that sounds like FoxNews alright…
April 15th, 2008 at 8:48 pmthe yuppie-spawn at Villanova did a great job of lobbing softballs to grandpa McCain on tweety’s “Softball campus tour”.
“Wingnut Welfare internships for all “my young friends”, the McMaverick replied”
April 15th, 2008 at 8:49 pmMr. Dodcy should have did his homework before asking his son to ask the stupid question. Years ago when Hillary worked on a committee with Teflon John. He told her she could handle the drink like a man can. Both drank the glass of whiskey and she said you pass the test. Mr. Dodcy’s son should be asking when McCain illegally attacks Iran will he open the draft? Attacking Hillary wont win the race, but notice no attacks on the black candidate or an out cry of racism. American woman don’t care about what’s said about a female candidate. When professional woman start losing their jobs to men they will find out how Hillary feels. The Woman’s Rights Movement had a good run for 188 years as it ends in 2008.
April 15th, 2008 at 8:52 pmGreat going, Fluffball. I can’t watch Matthews…did he fawn all over McCain, per usual? You’d think he’d be embarrassed all that man love going on inside of him (being the good gooper her his…just can’t admit it).
April 15th, 2008 at 8:53 pmThere is no way I’m clicking “to play” to see that smirking doofus. Guy will probably be running for president some day.
April 15th, 2008 at 8:53 pmThe turd does not fall far from the propagandist’s ass.
April 15th, 2008 at 8:54 pm“Hitting the sauce.” Can we ask that same question about the idiot President in office?
April 15th, 2008 at 8:56 pmHey TP, when are you going to do a post about all Hillary’s lies and bullshit about Obama? Or how she’s destroying the Democrat party from within with her vile actions? Hmmmm…..?
If I thought she had a conscience, hitting the sauce would be understandable — but she’s just doing her George W. Bush imitation. Go Annie Oakley!
April 15th, 2008 at 8:56 pmIf McCain does win, this goofball offspring of dufoid genetics will certainly get drafted, and know the joy of hand to hand combat against a live enemy, of his leader’s making.
April 15th, 2008 at 8:56 pmOh, and BTW, how long is it until McCain’s alzheimer’s becomes a crippling affliction?
April 15th, 2008 at 8:57 pmDoocy fruit doesn’t fall far from the Doocy tree.
April 15th, 2008 at 8:58 pmThis should be no news to McCain, since he enjoys whiskey similarly.
Wasn’t there a story a couple of years ago about him and Clinton belting down a few together late one night?
Rumor is, Brian Kilmeade’s son was also in attendance, and got so offended over Steve Doocys son’s question, he stormed out.

April 15th, 2008 at 8:58 pmthe questioner was Peter Doocy, the son of Fox & Friends anchor Steve Doocy.

It absolutely looks like Hillary is trying to position herself for a sure win in 2012 — by supporting McCain over Obama. The only thing she will succeed in doing is making herself a pariah in the Dem party for the rest of her life. Somebody needs to yank a knot in that girl’s tail.

Unless Obama (or fate steps in) totally screws up he wins. The math says it is not possible for her to win. So the HRC “believers” are drinking some form of koolade to not know that. Her only chance is if he quits then she becomes the nominee.

Yet another paradox, they want to win the occupation and rebuilding in Iraq but dont want to pay for it.
They want a strong military but dont want to pay for it.
They built a bigger government but dont want to pay for it.

I just re-read your comment, and of course you were joking. Jeebus, I’m just a bit overwhelmed with school stuff right now. Mea culpa…
April 15th, 2008 at 9:44 pmhe Wednesday-morning prayer group is one. Another is the congressional delegation (“CODEL,” in Hill jargon), on which members travel together and wind up spending lots of time in close proximity. The story of one such trip, to Estonia, recently brought to light by The New York Times, gives a flavor of what Clinton is like in these settings. At a casual dinner with Senate colleagues Graham, John McCain, and Susan Collins, all Republicans, the waiter followed local custom by bringing a bottle of vodka and shot glasses, whereupon Clinton reached over and began pouring; a drinking contest ensued. McCain’s staff seemed pained by the revelation, and declined my request for an interview, because the last thing a Republican presidential hopeful wants floating around in the media is word that he’s becoming booze pals with Hillary Clinton. And McCain denied the story to Jay Leno. But when I recently intercepted him walking through the Capitol, McCain lit up at the recollection. “It’s been fifty years since I’d been in a drinking game,” said McCain, who as a former naval aviator knows whereof he speaks. He added, admiringly, “She can really hold her liquor.”
April 15th, 2008 at 9:45 pmXisithrus, why do all of the Republicans get away with all of this tax cut stuff? They build up these huge deficits and seem to think that it’s okay for other countries to own us.
I read that 42% of my tax dollars goes to the military. I’ve also read that about 40% goes towards paying down the debt (which sounds weird right there because isn’t the debt just getting bigger and bigger?) so that sure doesn’t leave much for hospitals, schools, roads etc. etc…
It just doesn’t add up and yet way too many people seem to gobble it all up.
April 15th, 2008 at 9:45 pmThis is for every gooper out there. Just follow the nose….

April 15th, 2008 at 9:55 pmXisithrus, why do all of the Republicans get away with all of this tax cut stuff? They build up these huge deficits and seem to think that it’s okay for other countries to own us.
Because they think it will reduce government spending. Many people, left and right fall for this canard. Actually we became a debtor nation decades ago. When Nixon closed the gold window we owed other nations some 35,000 tons of gold.
April 15th, 2008 at 9:55 pmhttp://www.rawstory.com/ news/ 2006/ NYT_Senators_Clinton_McCain_held_vodkadrinking_0728.html
On a congressional delegation trip to Estonia in August of 2004, Senators Hillary Clinton (D-NY) and John McCain (R-AZ) held a “vodka-drinking contest,” according to an article slated for Saturday’s edition of The New York Times.
April 15th, 2008 at 9:57 pmXisithrus - it sounds like you know of which you speak. Apparently McCain’s plan is to freeze all discretionary spending….other than military and veterans’ spending of course (*cough-damn whiskey-cough*). Sounds like that should do it, right? Balance off all of those lovely tax cuts and all that?
April 15th, 2008 at 9:59 pmXisithrus - it sounds like you know of which you speak. Apparently McCain’s plan is to freeze all discretionary spending… -Mary
Its a bold move, but something that will likely not make the free market types happy. It would probably do his campaign more harm than good as its a conservative paradox [free market versus government spending]
April 15th, 2008 at 10:05 pmwatched some clips that dan abrams played this evening…
notice the look of the “crowd” behind each of mcLAME and matthews…
republican “kids” have a peculiar look about them, robotic, twirpy…
(like this guy)…
and, if you look closely, because she’s stuck in the back, one black person…
just looking at those clips…
as for hillary’s nipping, looked kinda forced… but she sure lit up when she
recognized “crown royal” as an option… not the highest priced whiskey on the
shelf, but “elitist” enough…
and, y’know, about that… quite frankly i WANT my president to be of an ELITE mold and substance… we really can’t suffer through any more “good ol’ boy” types…
or true snobs… like hillary rove cLIEberman…
April 15th, 2008 at 10:08 pm.
I call them flacks Katy. Plants they put into the crowd to laugh or clap. McCain said something completely unfunny yet they laughed and clapped anyway.
April 15th, 2008 at 10:16 pmkaty, that was one of the reasons I fled after a couple of seconds. I guess I just couldn’t understand why they’d want to look good to a man who’d continue to bankrupt this country with more military aggression and more money to companies like KBR for so-called ‘reconstruction’ in Iraq while the infrastructure in this country deteriorates.
btw, keep on trucking, or should I say posting, katy - you’re awesome.
April 15th, 2008 at 10:19 pmAnd Xisithrus, thanks for that conservative paradox comment! Are you suggesting that a ‘free market’ likes government spending? Are we talking roads/education/health care/FDA etc. govt spending? Or privatizing everything from intelligence gathering to IRS tax collecting govt spending?
On NPR tonight I heard that by privatizing IRS tax collecting they’re actually LOSING money nowadays. So I guess the Bush administration is not only terrible at running the government but they’d be terrible CEOs too?
April 15th, 2008 at 10:28 pmIt’s bad enough that the zoonatics are always smearing Hillary on the zoo (which one of you was stupid enough to think that ‘the family’ would want Miss Universal Healthcare anyway?), they have to join the rest of the hopium addicts at huffpo/dailykos and do it here. Zooey, katy, et. al, if you really want to get Obama elected, do him a favor and STFU? Lunatic fools like you guys make Obama look like Tom Cruise, and you his disciples!

The math is not possible for EITHER of them to win, that’s the POINT that the ZOONATICS and the rest of HOPIUM ADDICTS seem to forget. That, and an almost identical number of Democrats support each. Without all of the caucus yellfests where the Hopiums bullied other voters, he wouldn’t have the lead he does now - Texas proved this!
The reality is that the Zoonatics believe they are someone righteous as is their messiah, without realizing both candidates are just people. The difference is Hillary is a person with a progressive platform that includes universal healthcare and other key factors, and Obama is just another Ronnie RayGun figure that says “Abortion is never a good thing”BHObama and courts the religious right in doing so…

April 15th, 2008 at 10:53 pmI’d like to follow the little Doocy pr*ck around with a video camera for a few weeks and get some clips of him falling down drunk and sucking on a bong, stupid little creep.
April 15th, 2008 at 10:55 pmrhf - I know that you are a Hillary supporter. So is a brother of mine. Me, I’m a Kucinich fan, but, Obama seems like that best of those left standing to me.
As far as electability goes, well it seems to me that both Hillary and Obama would be pushing the limits of our society’s tolerances. I sure don’t see Obama as a “messiah”. I’m way beyond that crap, if I may say so. I suspect that both of them would end up with their own kinds of corruption, although I’m still optimistic enough to have room to hope (oops, there’s that word!) that there’s a better chance of some kind of representation with Obama.
He’s going to need some passionate people like you on his side. Can we at least agree that four more years of Republicans might not be the way to go?

April 16th, 2008 at 1:14 amQuite frankly, Merlin, if HRC gets into the WH, we’re not gonna have any investigations, period.
Mebbe, just mebbe, w/ Obama, but Hillary? No…
Depressing?????? Yes…….
April 16th, 2008 at 1:16 am“I would not want my first term consumed by what was perceived on the part of Republicans as a partisan witch hunt because I think we’ve got too many problems we’ve got to solve,” Obama said.

April 16th, 2008 at 1:26 amBTW I read you guys every night at work on my cell phone. I used to hang at Huffpost, but it’s so much chaos now, and comments take too long to appear. I had to take tonight off to get the taxes mailed before midnight! I’m usually busy til 3am CDST.

April 16th, 2008 at 1:46 amTRoS, what can we expect of people who base everything they do on things “someone told them,” or the easy emotions of resentment and hate?
These are people who are still concerned with the schoolyard ideas of absolute fairness, and being worried that someone might get something in life that they might not have worked hard enough for.
These are people who have never figured out that one candle lighting another loses none of it’s own light.
April 16th, 2008 at 1:47 amRight.
I also get a strong undercurrent of bullying in some of this, and cruelty for cruelty’s sake. It was kind of… gross… watching how some of the trolls seemed so pleased w/ the lack of controls here, and the resultant inability on our part to rein in their behavior. Open season… and screw the limits.
I have to say… I wonder why there’s so little meaningful debate, EVER, here. Trolls show up, and they immediately try to disrupt anything and everything they can.
Makes me remember what TP was like before the registration system went in, and just how necessary that flagging button is.

April 16th, 2008 at 1:53 amAll the bored, spoiled college kids are close to getting out for the summer. They’re gonna gather all their loser friends from mom’s basement, and head to the blogs for their entitlement fix. TP better get this figured out, before there’s a repeat of last summer.
The Zoo doesn’t put up with that shit. Maybe it’s easier because we’re smaller — best not to let them get the toe-hold.
April 16th, 2008 at 2:01 amThe Zoo keeps growing at the rate it has of late, you’ll be dealing w/ more of this sort of nonsense.
I’d say it’s a foregone conclusion you’ll be dealing w/ it. You already are w/ The Whack Job Who Shall Not Be Named…
Certainly, I don’t expect the Zoo to be cowed by such ugliness, BUT, simply in the act of confronting and dealing w/ it, the Zoo, alas, will have to change.

I have the same regret about the Huffingtonpost. It was always a bit wilder there, but now they have to pre-moderate every comment to keep the Reich-wingers from saying things so vile, impersonating Progressives, so to give O’Reilly, Limbaugh, Hannity, etc. ammo to use against us. I got on the blogs to, as they say on Thom Hartman, “win the watercooler wars”.

I dunno. The buttons disappeared yesterday and management assured us it was a temporary thing whilst they were working on the site.
I sure hope so. We were totally overrun last fall by trolls. Truly nasty, venal stuff. It was driving good posters away and almost destroyed the site, for any practical purposes.
TP put in a reg system, w/ those recommend/flag as abusive buttons, and it did wonders for the place. It’s a fascinating phenomenon, for me.
We all kind of stumbled along, trying to figure out how to use the new rules and features, and it kinda sorted itself out after a while.
Management doesn’t really police the threads. They leave it up to us, the Greater TP Community. When we, collectively, decide we’ve had enough of a certain individual, we start flagging them and only then does management toss ‘em. It’s kind of like “Survivor” on TV… we vote ‘em off the island when we’ve finally had enough.
A fascinating little experiment in democracy, free speech, and community standards.

I’ve noticed missing comments referred to by the regulars and sometimes the offensive comment is repeated in a response that doesn’t get deleted. I only had one opponent that I spent any time on, called “Bush Drives A Super Duty”, but I haven’t seen him on since the 2006 election. He was civil and reasonable, so I think he really was somebody that believed his way was the right way. He was good practice though.
I work with mostly Republicans, so I have to be on top of my game or look bad.
How odd.
My last comment is “awaiting moderation”…

So you have a chance to ask perhaps the next president of the United States of America and little Ducci asks a Glenn Beck question?
But if your a Ducci you get the slot for a question…..
April 16th, 2008 at 4:29 amPeter’s question is as highly inflammatory as his father’s are. I bet Steve is proud that his son is a mirror image of himself. My sympathies to any future girlfriend of Peter’s. Don’t expect any moral high ground with this guy.

And get used to saying “President Obama” while you’re at it.

And that unibrow is a chick-magnet!
April 16th, 2008 at 8:49 amI don’t think Obama has anything to do with Rove, Rumsfeld, or any of that bunch of racist mentors…..
Could be wrong but I think you have questions to answer about what has actually happened with your people in power as opposed to supposing what might happen if a democrat gets elected….it can’t be this bad.
April 16th, 2008 at 8:57 amBut I’m sure you’ve found proper justification to rationalize Obama’s association with an anti – American, black separatist, racist mentor.
Just stringing non-sequitors together, this morning?

April 16th, 2008 at 8:58 amBut President Obama, I’m a bitter & cynical typical white person clinging to my guns and religion in the good ole USKKKA. Where’s my welfare check?
April 16th, 2008 at 9:00 amNo I don’t. You may have the guns and that is scary enough but the religion is just a tool. The rights misuse of the religious folks in this country has backfired and the gop is no longer god’s party…..like puppies with their eyes opening the American people are finally realizing that they were democrats all along…..

jdc, you really should try to wrap your head around the fact that the conservative revolution is over and it failed.
You will be ok though no matter what you have been told. Remember, the democrats ran this country for 40 years with little or no help or input from the republicans without ever getting us in the shape that we are now in, so it will be ok.
April 16th, 2008 at 9:09 amIf you call those misteps then why would you ever say anything negative about anything a democrat has ever done in the history of the party? Seriously, where is your sense of justice?
April 16th, 2008 at 9:12 amA better question for the kid would be “Daddy, why do you sit in the sauna at the New York Sports Club at 49th and Broadway so long and so often?”
April 16th, 2008 at 9:14 amIt was one of many missteps.
It was a Busby Berkley chorus line of ineptitude - with an orchestra of chickenhawks providing a jingoist melody.
April 16th, 2008 at 9:14 amI say we all go outside the box. How about James Burns
April 16th, 2008 at 9:59 amWhy do the GOP, Fox News members and their sons have such a high representation of gays? Turnabout is fair play. But, this kid looks a bit goofy, if you know what I mean.
WTF does “goofy” have to do with being gay? Gezzz…..
I can’t believe his father is proud of his question…….this is proof more money needs to be spent on education in this country so we will have more creative, civil, and positive thinkers to run this country in the future.
