It would be very much in keeping with the spirit of the Bush administration for the entire project to consist of a muddy hole in the ground with a “Mission Accomplished” banner above it.

Someone needs to tell these people that the office of the President of the United States is a CIVILIAN position. CIVILIAN, as in NON-UNIFORMED PERSONNEL. To feature a bust of the president dressed in some sort of quasi-military flak suit (complete with the presidential insignia) is yet another example of the Bush camp stealing one straight out of the Nazi playbook. I don’t know about all of you, but I am so, so tired of feeling ashamed about this country I love.

President Bush’s presidential library … will sponsor programs designed to “promote the vision of the president” and “celebrate” Bush’s presidency.

“The vision of the president?” Bwa ha ha ha ha! What’s that? Flies with their wings pulled off? Frogs with lit M-80’s strapped to their backsides?

Any presidential library that paints an accurate picture of the chimp will NEVER meet with his approval. Put another way, the presidential library that they’re proposing will NEVER reflect the realities of Bush’s presidency. How do you go about creating a library for a president that doesn’t read?

History is much too important to be left to historians, right George?

My library design:

Visitor walks up to a door with a diebold voting machine, inserting a twenty dollar bill and pushing the button for “George W. Bush”. The visitor can push the button for “John Kerry” if desired, but it still records for Bush. The door still doesn’t open until a docet, dressed as a SCOTUS member, somehow opens the door. Visitor walks into a restroom with walls covered with surveillance cameras. A Cheney manikin holding a Bush ventriloquist doll is practicing in the mirror, spouting all our “favorite” Bush lies. Rolls of Constitution toilet paper are in each stall and on a storage shelf. A toilet flushes and at the same time a door to another room opens. Inside are 4000 plus coffins draped with American flags. In corners of the room different animatonic scenes: Bush’s “no WMD over here”, Bush’s “Mission Accomplished”, Bush’s endless loop of “stay the course”. The only way out is to show a Democratic Club card.

A library to rival disney world. Costumes and busts and even a miniature MT Rushmore with “W” as its central figure. And statues of “W” in his chumy arm slung over Abraham Lincoln’s shoulder after bushwacking the brush of the old west.
“W” will draw crowds like he draws Sadamm’s ivory six shooters and hold you up at the door to have you searched by his sidekick Alberto. All in a day’s fun with “W”.
