Echoing his predecessor, British Prime Minister Gordon Brown praised President Bush during a Rose Garden press conference today, declaring the world “owes Bush a huge debt of gratitude” for his leadership in the War on Terror. Watch it:
Just like Bush, Brown recently ordered a “pause” in U.K. troop withdrawals from Iraq, following increased violence in Basra. Today, Brown declared that the “bond between our two countries is stronger than ever.”

what the world owes Bush/Cheney are the hangman’s noose.
April 17th, 2008 at 3:46 pmYes, Bush’s crater making abilities have given the world so much and his population control exercise in Iraq has been exemplary.
April 17th, 2008 at 3:50 pmYes, herr dubyah has single handily destroyed conservatism.
Three cheers for herr dubyah!!!!!!
April 17th, 2008 at 3:50 pmWell, it’s true that Bush has run up a huge debt…
April 17th, 2008 at 3:50 pmWithout Bush, we probably wouldn’t have the War on Terror, that’s true. But we wouldn’t have this level of terror to begin with. Bush’s War has created the terror we have to fight.
It’s a positive feedback loop, the more terrorists you kill (and innocent collaterals) the more you create.
April 17th, 2008 at 3:53 pmI’ll kiss your ass, if you’ll kiss mine.
April 17th, 2008 at 3:53 pmA “debt of gratitude”? For WHAT?
The “War on Terror” is a complete sham; how the hell can you go to war against a tactic? Besides, we *still* haven’t caught Osama bin Laden nor have we interrupted in any meaningful way their operations or the influence that they exercise over certain portions of the world’s Muslim population.
Oil and fuel prices are at all-time highs. The dollar now has the lowest value of my entire lifetime. Our infrastructure is crumbling. New Orleans the the rest of the Gulf Coast are still trying to rebuild and recover from Katrina. Our military is broken, and we’re so desperate for cannon fodder now that we’re recruiting high school dropouts and criminals to fill out the ranks.
Thousands of our military servicemembers have lost their lives; their families left to deal with the chasm that the death of their loved ones have caused. Thousands more servicemembers are coming home broken in body, spirit and psyche - and little is being done to improve the services available for them once they are back home.
We are now in a world where the worst-possible scenarios discussed prior to invading Iraq have all taken place. Our allies are not happy with us, the Muslim world despises us, and day by day our influence over world affairs wanes.
George W. Bush doesn’t deserve anyone’s gratitude, and I don’t need the Prime Minister of the UK or anyone else to tell me otherwise. I sincerely hope that this horrible, horrible man spends the rest of his life suffering over the piss-poor state in which he will leave this country after eight years in power.
Gratitude, my ass. What he deserves is a small, 8′x8′ prison cell and a long, long prison sentence.
April 17th, 2008 at 3:55 pm“the world “owes Bush a huge debt of gratitude” for his leadership ”
April 17th, 2008 at 3:57 pmCompared to him, all the other world leaders look really great.
Anyone see Bush telling the pope he gave an “awesome” speech. I think there is one thing i’m truly thankful to Bush for and that is numerous comedic moments. He’s made the careers of Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert. He’s also pretty much soiled the bed of conservative politics for decades to come. I just wish he wasn’t a mass murderer because otherwise i’d have to kiss him.
April 17th, 2008 at 3:57 pmJpopphan, you said it first:
The world owes Bush a “huge debt of gratitude”…
FOR WHAT??
April 17th, 2008 at 3:57 pmWell if this isn’t an advert to revoke Scotland’s self-rule privileges, I don’t know what is. This plonker on the heels of part-time Scotsman Tony fruttin Blair.. Jesus wept.
April 17th, 2008 at 3:58 pmJust think,a boot licking neocon from Great Britan.
April 17th, 2008 at 3:58 pmGordon Brown: “Bush owes the world a huge debt”.
There, I fixed it for you.

Thank you Mr. Bush!!!! Your Leadership is greatly appreciated. History will prove your valor!
April 17th, 2008 at 3:52 pm
At best you might want to sub “may” for “will” but even that seems extremely unlikely. Still atleast it will make you seem a little more intelligent as declaritive statements of future events is sort of nonsensical
April 17th, 2008 at 4:02 pmThis just proves it… the Atlantic Ocean is no longer salt water, it’s neocon Kool-Aid.
PEACE
April 17th, 2008 at 4:04 pmDude is high.
April 17th, 2008 at 4:05 pmOoooh, Ralph! Quoted!

April 17th, 2008 at 4:07 pmGuess Brown hasn’t read the GAO’s report about the failure to prepare plans regarding AQ. And dare we add, does England really need another Bush poodle?
April 17th, 2008 at 4:08 pm#10 robertoroberto,
Did he really tell the pope it was an awesome speech? What a dipshit.
April 17th, 2008 at 4:12 pmGordon Brown: Every rich white man “owes Bush a huge debt of gratitude.”
April 17th, 2008 at 4:15 pmThere - I fixed it for you.
Brown needs to wipe his mouth again. I can still see a tiny bit of bullshit on his lips.

April 17th, 2008 at 4:22 pmYou know, I remember the UK newspaper headline in 2004…”51% of the American people are stupid”. I thought it was kind of funny in a cry-out-loud kind of way. Who’s laughing now?
April 17th, 2008 at 4:23 pmunbefckinglievable!!
And thanks for separating me from those who might think Boy George has a shred of intelligence.
I think the cheerleaders dropped this one on his head too many times.
April 17th, 2008 at 4:29 pmIt depends on which part of the world.
April 17th, 2008 at 4:36 pmHalliburton/KBR world=gratitude.

Which only means that soon, Londoners will be living in FEMA trailers reeking of formaldehyde…
April 17th, 2008 at 4:55 pmLooks like Great Britain went from a poodle to a spaniel. I wonder if this wanker understands that the BBC reports news from the U.S. to its British audience.
April 17th, 2008 at 5:06 pmworld = The rich who have become richer, whose kids don’t serve in the military.
April 17th, 2008 at 5:18 pmYes, Gordo, you’re right! The radical Islamic world owes Dubya a huge debt for the stupidity to make them stronger while bleeding the “Great Satan” into impotence!
April 17th, 2008 at 5:20 pmThe world owes George Bush a great debt for dragging the US economy, dollar and military down to the level of a third-rate banana republic.

April 17th, 2008 at 5:24 pmAndrew Sullivan Is A Fraud
what the world owes Bush and Cheney is a good swift kick in the nuts.
April 17th, 2008 at 5:49 pmThis is downright comical! How can Brown utter these words with a straight face? Surely, he’s lost the respect of his countrymen with these untruthful comments; americans are laughing their butts off at such ridiculousness.
April 17th, 2008 at 5:50 pmBush/Cheney: Prison 09′
April 17th, 2008 at 6:08 pmGordo needs to extract his nose from Bush’s butt before it’s too late.
April 17th, 2008 at 6:24 pmI am thankful for Bush because his love of money and power is at least to prevent him from Nihilism and blowing up the rest of the world with nuclear weapons, thus killing the U.S. more slowly.
April 17th, 2008 at 6:54 pmWay to go ralph, I always knew you were a star.
April 17th, 2008 at 7:03 pmOh Gordon, have you learned nothing from your predecessor?
April 17th, 2008 at 7:07 pmThats Gordon nose is Brown…
April 17th, 2008 at 8:03 pmLook at the ticker headline below the pic of Brown & Genghis Chimp. I’m sure Harley Davidson employees feel they owe Bush a huge debt of gratitude.

April 17th, 2008 at 11:59 pmForeign policy with the U.K. and Israel will never change , they are intertwined by banking , military and strategic interests . Whether its invading Afghanistan and occupying the country to build the pipeline , they have been trying to build since they negotiated with the Taliban and after the deal fails , they are invaded and Caspian Oil will flow through Afghanistan .
So who benefits ( CUI BONO ), it’s so damn easy Unocal , JP Morgan , Haliburton ; Chase ; Bechtel; Blackwater ; DRUG LORDS ; ARMS DEALERS .
POPPY in Afghanistan not only has record crops every year , they have untouched continuous harvests making peopel BILLIONS, yet some how the worlds super power cant find them or have the technology to destroy them . Bizzare ain’t it .
CUI BONO , Tony Blair gets million dollar a year board of director seat , at WHERE ..JP Morgan , who controls Iraq’s foreign loans . WHAT ?
You’re being SCREWED PEOPLE , while John McCain is having an elite fund raiser hosted by Lord Rothschild, from the infamous banking family that basically controls Europe , we are paying the bill for the millions of barrels of OIL to run the military in endless wars , constant increases in the already over blown, obscene , military budget that’s allowing this countries infrastructure to fall apart .
Who profits , Banks ;Drug dealers , oil companies . …
April 18th, 2008 at 2:13 amGordon Brown — yet another poodle.

April 18th, 2008 at 6:39 amThanks, Mr Bush, now the Brithish Pound is the strongest coin of the world.
April 18th, 2008 at 6:40 amLooks like Brown is as certifiably insane as bush is.
April 18th, 2008 at 8:11 amI guess Gordon Brown decided he doesn’t like being Prime Minister.
April 18th, 2008 at 1:22 pmBush owes the American tax payers about 7.7 trillion. Leave the world’s gratitude out of it and call it even.
April 18th, 2008 at 6:17 pmWell Satirev and the rest of the anti american parasites, let me explain how. Since Gordon Brown doesnt have the luxury like all you internet geniuses to sit around and whine, or to worry what the loony left will say about him, but has to make judgements based on the best intelligence available and the obligation to protect his country, he knows what a world without the united states would be like. That is, he knows it would be like the countries run by your dictator heros in Venezuela, Cuba, Iran, Zimbabwe, etc. Or, putting it differently, its based on the distinction between “men of words” and “men of action” in Hegel’s philosophy. The “men of words” get to whine about all sorts of things they know nothing about, and have the luxury of never remembering their own mistakes, while the men of action have to live in the real world–with grown ups and everything. Got it now?

They can afford to be irresponsible. By contrast, the men of action are respnsible to an electorate and a system. They have to live in the real world–with grown ups and traditions and facts and everything. Got it now? Stand up for tyranny liberals and leftys. Its what you always do and do best.
