Hate to say it: Rove is right. McSame is faring much, much better than expected or feared. I'm downright panicking.

Hillary won't go away until, say, July. Then Obama will be damaged goods. And after the Republican convention the swooning of the press will only begin.

This will be one crappy election day, if something doesn't change fast. And to be sure, I'm not saying Hillary would fare better. She would be doing even worse. But as long as the two of them don't turn their attention to McCain - well until that it won't matter much if Fox Noise does make honest journalism or not.

>I figger that’s just about the way it will shake out in Nov…

anyone that thinks, now that we're at this point, that hillary would perform better than obama in a general election is downright delusional. young people and blacks are two vital democratic constituents, and if the super's scr33w them over and tell obama his majority wins dont matter, those two constituentcies are going to stay home in massive numbers and hillary will get badly trounced. add to the fact that she has the burnden of the clintom name, with absolutely none of the clinton charisma, and you've got hillary doing even worse at the polls. not to mention, republicans have been holding thier fire against hilary and have, in all likelyhood been secretly working with her to try and undermine obama, whose only vulberability is the actions of people who know him and his occasional verbal gaffe. the fact clinton has all kinds of documents that she's refusing to release gives strong credence to the fact thier skeletons in there that the republicans WILL dig up.

Honestly, this has to be one of the funniest complaints I've ever heard. Your own link concering Rove's status as a member of McCain's campaign says that he held one conversation with John McCain. One.

So, let's make sure we understand:

You think Fox News is being derelict somehow by failing to mention that Karl Rove held one conversation with the McCain campaign during this entire election season, and that he's worked for Republicans the rest of his career.

You'd be happy if Wallace introduced Rove as "Republican operative Karl Rove, who has never worked for a Democrat in his life and who recently held a conversation with the McCain campaign, about which he has not said anything specific?" Would that do it for you?

Just out of curiosity, would you also expect CNN to introduce Paul Begala as "Democratic operative, who has never worked for Republican in his life, and who gained notoriety as President Clinton's attack dog?" Or do you consider Begala middle-of-the-road?

Honestly... get over yourselves. We all know who Karl Rove is. Jeez.

Pox News is the reason America needs to restore the Fairness Doctrine.

http://www.light-to-dark.com/murdochs_enslaved_red_states.html

Why does Rupert Murdoch still possess U.S. citizenship when his operation, his propaganda network, is hurting our country? Why does totalitarianism get a free pass to bring us down?

http://www.light-to-dark.com/ruperts_black_house.html

Murdoch and the totalitarians he supports and serves are nothing less than nationalist socialism incarnate.

It's called subversion.

Not that I would ask anyone to hurt Rove's feelings.

But Rove also had the MAYH for the '06 congressional election.

Why doesn't Karl Rove recieve credit for this accomplishment?

It has to be a personal resume builder for him. As the voter suppression and caging goals he succeded with.

Really, the Rove obsession is hilarious.

Fox News Channel is neither "Fair" nor "Balanced" in any way, nor should they be if they want to claim to be journalists. Journalists are objective. The fact that FNC refuses to publicly acknowledge, even through spoken words if not unacknowledged screen graphics, that one of their "political analysts" is actually advising one of the presidential candidates proves their fraudulent nature. The reason it needs to be pointed out is that a large percentage of their viewers either don't know that Rove is advising McCain or don't believe the truth. How does FNC justify saying they are "balanced", and how can they say they are being "fair" to their viewers? Since they clearly don't practice "journalism" at FNC, their White House press credentials should be stripped.

And following up, the reason I say this, is because today was the first time a republican talking head has, to my knowledge, ever raised the issue of lifting the FICA cap. The issue has been raised on these shows before, but never by a republican. Before, they were merely dismissive, but today Will used a specific talking point about teachers and cops, when referencing lifting the FICA cap - meaning someone, somewhere had given Will the talking point, and it was presented in a strange, slap-dash fashion; something Will rarely does.

Donaldson says “the republicans might not get 45 votes in the Senate,” and Will doesn’t disagree...

they only need 41. There's enough bluedogs and bushdogs to keep the corporate oligachy in unchallengeable power for the foreseeable future.

I think I see the rude outline of a campaign issue forming, if George Will has any real contacts inside the RNC: they are going to make a move to split middle-class voters by getting Obama and Clinton on record as criticizing (or advocating) for a lifting of the FICA cap, to have upper-middle-income (and the wealthy), pay more into the system. They would see it as a win/win for themselves, and for their wealthy constituents. Either the two dems would disavow the FICA tax raises, or conditionally support them - a public promise to keep their taxes low, or a class-war weapon, to beat the dems with, in the general election.
