Isikoff: Drudge is ‘much less of a factor than he was five years ago.’

In their book, The Way To Win, Mark Halperin and John Harris praised right-wing internet gossip Matt Drudge’s influence on the media, saying, “Matt Drudge rules our world.” But yesterday, Newsweek’s Michael Isikoff — whose Monica Lewinsky reporting was famously leaked to Drudge — declared at “Q & A Café” that Drudge is “is much less of a factor than he was five years ago.” “I think he has lost a little bit of his edge,” said Isikoff.

Boring, Pry, dear. That’s a typical Repuke response: Smear the truthteller.

    Silly Repuke!

  2. Mark @ News Corpse says:

Of course Drudge has lost his edge. The rest of the Conventional Media has adopted his methods. What do they need him for anymore?

News Corpse, The Internet’s Chronicle Of Media Decay.

    Drudge had an edge?

It’s more down sites like ThinkPro, Huffingtonpost and my own http://www.soultv.net (not that i’d put us in the same league as you guys obviously). The new trend online is to get people talking and thinking about problem solving. Wheras before Iraq, 9/11 etc there was a lot of hunger for gossip in the political realm. Now, people are more apt to try and learn. I think it’s a step in the right direction.

    Isikoff,

He didn’t loose his edge. He lost his credibility. He’s reported so many false items trying to suck up to the RePugniScum, facist elite that you can’t trust anything he reports!

He’s a real life constant liar!

Ah the gay mafia of journalism–Halperin, Drudge, Harris, Mikey Allen of Politico
these are the closet cases that leak info to Drudge. Problem is they have been wrong many, many times.

They are the biggest gossips and smear merchants on the east coast. Halperin is so arrogant and such a phony–he was on Charlie Rose and Al Hunt smacked him around a bit the other night. Marky just sat there and pouted.

  8. thirdparty says:

Isn’t Drudge getting record hits these days?
