Rove Watch clock: 80 days.

By Amanda Terkel on Apr 25th, 2008 at 9:05 pm

Rove Watch clock: 80 days.

Today marked the 80th day that Karl Rove appeared on Fox News as a political analyst without disclosure of his ties to Sen. John McCain’s (R-AZ) campaign. During his appearance, Rove said that Rev. Jeremiah Wright’s comments will “continue to dog” Sen. Barack Obama (D-IL). Rove also mischaracterized Obama’s statements on Wright, claiming, “On the 13th of March, he came out and said there is nothing particularly controversial in Reverend Wright’s statements.” Actually, Obama said, “I don’t think my church is actually particularly controversial.”

At least TP is admitting that Rev. Jeremiah Wright’s comments are controversia. That’s a start.

  2. wijg says:

Thanks TP for keeping the Rove Watch Clock front and center.

  3. Shayne says:

Really VA Voter, is that what you think the post says, dumbass?

I don’t see that TP is saying that. Please show me that part. Cut and paste is fine.

  6. katy says:

did anyone watch the BILL MOYERS interview with REV. WRIGHT?

as a thinking and open minded person, i thought it was great, informative…

i’m sure there are some who will find another snippet to spin…

  7. katy says:

oh, and what of OBAMA’s decision to appear on FOX/WALLACE this sunday…
i won’t be watching, live anyway… will have to rely on the tubes…

i am very apprehensive about it, but at the same time feel confident that
he will pull it off just fine…

    stay cool, barack…

  8. katy says:

years ago, kilo… did you just wake up?

  9. sacopenapa says:

the time to arrest the WAR CRIMINAL Rove is overdue… forget count this clock… he should be counting the minutes he has as a free ‘thing’ (Not a man!). And hopefully it would be many left… WAR CRIMINAL!!!!

    Kilo Says:
Speaking of disclosure…. has it been mentioned here yet that the CEO of the Centre for American Progress (which operates this blog) is part of the Hillary for President campaign ?

What’s your point, and how is it relevant to this topic?

I think “coming to”, or perhaps “sobering up” might be a better choice of words, katy.

  12. wijg says:

    Kilo,

Wow! You’re comparing Fox News (which is a member of the fourth estate) to a liberal website? Who has the head injury? LMFAO!

  13. katy says:

    kilo – honestly, i didn’t think about that angle…
    imagine that… it’s just too ridiculous…

but everyone knows that podesta started CAP – and thank the gods for that…
only 20 years (at least) late for that, but, finally a PROGRESSIVE think tank…
    and PUSHBACK…

but there’s just no comparison to the ROVE / FOX / mcSAME affiliation…

yer digging too deep… and grasping at straws… clinging too…

My distinct lack of reference to Fox news would suggest not. Editorial standards are not a matter of “I’ll do it if he does it first”. As always, if you make an issue out of holding someone else to a standard, you getting called on that standard yourself is neither surprising or humourous to anyone with a clue.

BTW what it was that allowed you to progress from this level of awareness ?
What’s your point, and how is it relevant to this topic

apples and Volkwagens, as usual, kilo. you are a stupid one, a really stupid one.

In other words, Kilo will move the goals posts to India if it will help to make whatever stupid point he’s milling by a mile.

  16. sacopenapa says:

Oh dear… Kilo of S… is back! He must be the pentagone guy… It is a Kilo of merda!

  17. Chocolate Jesus says:

    >Seriously how hard is it to flip this coin ?

Weren’t you the one complaining the other day about how this site never covers any stories about the two competing democrats?

If this site never talks about hilary or hilarys opponent, why should they have to disclose anything about their ties to hillary in order to remain unhypocritical? Merely because they are a political blog?

  18. The Republic of Stupidity says:

    Kilo Says:

Correct. I suspect I wasn’t hard to identify as that person as once again, I’m the only person with that criticism.
    _______________

THAT is decidedly not true, but you can pretend it is if it somehow makes you feel… important.

  19. Perry logan says:

I say leave Karl alone. He helped engineered his party’s loss of both houses of Congress in 2006. Maybe he can do some more for us.

  20. EvilPoet says:

Will you only be watching Rove or will you be watching Mehlman too?

  21. The Republic of Stupidity says:

    Kilo Says:

If that were the case there’d be nothing stopping you naming a 2nd person making this criticism or recalling an incident when it occurred without me.
Well, apart from your history of pussying out every single time you are ever challenged to support any of the nonsense you write. There is that little problem of course.

F- YOU!!!!!!! Please wipe that spittle off yer chin. It’s REALLY getting old.

And that embarrssing incontinence problem is only getting worse, isn’t it?

SO MANY people have commented on that very issue here, repeatedly, I’m astonished you’d have the nerve to make such a silly claim.

But you just gotta be you… a totally pointless pain in the Cheney, huh?

    Oh… gosh… you’re so… so… forceful and… and intimidating…

No one uses words like “pissant” or “pussying out” like you, 2.2…

    Siiiiiiiiiiiiigh… yer such a horse’s Cheney.

  22. backup says:

Is it possible they don’t bother recognizing Rove’s support of McCain, because it’s Rove; he’s as Republican a fixture as it gets. Some things are apparent enough they don’t need explaining.

If they interview Bill Clinton, should there be a streamer below his image stating: Hillary Clinton Supporter. ?

  23. DieNowForPeace says:

Rove should just stick to eating steak-and-ice-cream cakes.

What a fat, soft, big ugly, did I mention soft and FAT, pu55y.

  24. freedom lover says:

One that you share, if not lead the way on. You’re a liar and an ass, simple as that. Your “cleverness” is a guise for your deep ignorance.

  25. freedom lover says:

If they interview Bill Clinton, should there be a streamer below his image stating: Hillary Clinton Supporter. ?

Is Bill Clinton passing himself off as a “fair and balanced” news commentator?

    I didn’t think so.

Anybody defending Rove is, by definition, a traitor.

  26. Exit Stage Left says:

Too bad Rove probably has terrific health care and can afford the Rx’s necessary to keep his pudgy arteries from exploding.

  27. katy says:

kilo – even now you don’t realise you are posting on HillaryClinton.com…

    ah hahahahaha! hoowee!

for, like, 4ish years now! … wow – WHO’s out of it?

and, think about this – MOST of the commenters here, who post about hillary,
are against her becoming the nominee… and still we post…

    obviously, she isn’t listening…

    imagine that…

  28. backup says:

Anybody defending Rove is, by definition, a traitor.

Sounds a little like the logic that those that questioned the war were traitors.

I could care less about Rove. I just think that everyone knows Rove is a Republican and this post is insinuating a conspiracy that doesn’t exist.

Karl Rove distorts the truth? No way!

  30. Robt says:

Rove doesn’t have to reveal his affiliation with McCain’s campaign.

Rove is claiming FOX CEO executive privilage and FOX has the unitary corporate privilage if being able to utilize free and unrestricted programming opinion without disclosure that would hamper that corporate process.

  31. The Republic of Stupidity says:

Neither is Kilo, katy, or reading, for that matter.
