‘Small crowd’ turns up for fundraiser featuring Cheney.»

Vice President Dick Cheney headlined a fundraiser for Rep. Jeff Miller (R-FL) on Thursday. While Cheney gave some of his standard lines — “One great lesson of 9/11 is that we have to stop treating terrorist attacks as a law enforcement problem” — only a “small crowd” turned out to hear them. A sponsor of the event blamed the low turnout on the lack of a “more competitive two-party system.”

Terrorism will always be a law enforcement problem. It’s all about the percentages. Treating terrorism as anything but is antithetical to conservativism.
My only concern right now is home-grown terrorism from someone pissed off that the Feds are stealing children from their mothers without evidence in Texas.

  2. Marie Says:

Could it be? Are people, even the die-hards, recognizing that Cheney is, was, and always has been a liar, a warmonger and a cold-hearted, greedy, selfish ba$tard?

Cheney speaks and the American people say “So?”

  4. Dr. Hussein Matt Says:

If we did treat 9/11 as a law enforcement problem, maybe we would have caught the man responsible for 9/11.

  5. kdoug Says:

Get use to it Cheney. Even fewer will show up during “visiting hours” …

  6. Wayne A. Schneider Says:

An act of terrorism by a group representing no government is a crime, not an “act of war”. It is, therefore, a law enforcement problem, not a military one.

Why does Dick hate Jeff Miller? Don’t Dick and George know that they would help their little buddies more by shutting up, or, dropping dead?

I read the link and I wonder what this fool who paid $1,000 to have her picture taken with cheney will tell his daughter when all the lies and treasonous actually come to light.

Panama City… That’s near Rosemary Beach, FL where Karl Rove has a house… Wonder if Dick dropped by.

Karl Rove’s neighbors strongly dislike him in Rosemary Beach, FL… At least according to rawstory…

  16. Klem Kiddilehopper Says:

Gee, I thought all the war-loving,kill all the brownmen, Bible thumpers in the Panhandle of West Florida, would have turned out “en masse” for Cheney, and his Stepin-Fetchit Boy Friday, Jeff Miller!

  17. katy Says:

um… haven’t the results been better, more productive, when terrorism
is treated “as a law enforcement problem”?

Well, geez, Dr matt… it’s not fer tryin’!

I mean, Botch has only started 2 wars, spent multiple BILLIONS of dollars, gotten an estimated MILLION Iraqis and over 4,000 of his own troops killed, and multiple tens of thousands wounded… spied on his own country, tortured, alienated the rest of the world, and oh yeah, used the Constitution for toilet paper…

#5 If we did treat 9/11 as a law enforcement problem, maybe we would have caught the man responsible for 9/11.

If 9/11 was treated as a law enforcment problem, the crime scene would’ve been sealed and its metal scientifically investigated for thermite, not shiped to China. A serious investigation would have taken place. Eye witinesses of EXPLOSIONS would ‘ve been listen to not ignored. Bush and Chenney would’ve been questioned under oath, follow by their arrest and we would have the footage of a missil hitting the Pentagon as well as an explanation for an E-4B plane flying over Washington on that day! we would have scientits explaining the total collapse of the Two Towers as well as WTC7. NORAD would have to explain how it failed it obligations. The whole US military operation of 9/11 exposed!

It’s a even bigger wonder how he can pry 100k out of them. Factor in Republican honesty and you get 30 people at most. Factor in the $100 for a chicken dinner and a cool grand for a picture with His Excellent Highness Vice, that works out to 27 Republican vendors being extorted an average of $1,100 each. Not bad, considering the value of those sweet government contracts.

  23. Shayne Says:

To bad we can’t get a list of the people who DID attend and publish it for the world to see. Just like they used to put people in stocks or a pillory or put a scarlet A on them in the center of town so the entire community could see what they were.

  24. Robt Says:

    Excuse me Mr Vice President,

“One great lesson of 9/11 is that we have to stop treating terrorist attacks as a law enforcement problem”

    We haven’t yet did that.

  25. RUCerious Says:

So the entire crowd turned out to be seven short miners and the stepdaughter of a wicked queen?

  26. Heynow Says:

Who would want to see a national disgrace?

  27. 99Luf Balloons Says:

$100 a plate, does not cover the $225 needed to remove the smell of sulfur from your clothes.
    cheney needs to be skinned.

  29. DaTruth Says:

Dick “Strap-on” Cheney you’re finished. Gather your whips, cuffs, and toys you’ve shared with the idiot these last 8 yrs before its too late and someone finds out!

  30. LividLib Says:

    don’t despair, DICK.
the crowds waiting to sh!t on your grave will much larger!
