Romney pushes McCain’s endorsed-by-Hamas line.

Romney pushes McCain’s endorsed-by-Hamas line.»

On Friday, Sen. John McCain (R-AZ), referring to Sen. Barack Obama (D-IL), told conservative bloggers that “it’s very clear who Hamas wants to be the next president of the United States.” Now one of McCain’s top surrogates, former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney, has picked up on the line of attack, telling the Reno Gazette-Journal that “the recent endorsement by Hamas” was “revealing”:

ROMNEY: I think Barack Obama was more of a blank sheet. I think the primary revealed more about him than perhaps he would’ve liked. The recent endorsement by Hamas of his candidacy is I think the kind of development which people find revealing.

QUESTION: What do you take that to mean?

ROMNEY: Well, I think he’s said in his first year he would be inclined to visit with [Iranian President] Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, [North Korean President] Kim Jong Il, [former Cuban President] Fidel Castro. I think they find that appealing.

McCain and Romney’s scurrilous attacks are reminiscent of the over-the-top rhetoric of hardline right wingers like Rush Limbaugh and John Bolton. Earlier this month, Limbaugh claimed that “Islamofascists are actually campaigning for the election of Democrats” while Bolton contended in January that “the Mullahs in Tehran” want the Democrats to win.

Hey Romney, no one is listening to you, except for your typical brain dead troll.
Go away. I’m sick and tired of this scare mongering.
You know what scares me, the price of food. I haven’t seen many “Islofamicts” lately, but I see 5 a carton cereal.

Well, I hope Mitt Romney isn’t tapped to be Secretary of State or anything. He might have to learn that Fidel Castro is no longer in power in Cuba.

It’s amazing how idiots breed idiots. ARE AMERICIANS STUPID TO BUY THIS CRAP!!! LETS SHOW THESE IDIOTS IN NOVEMEBER WHERE WE STAND.

  4. Wayne A. Schneider Says:

Oh, and Mitt, al Qaeda told everyone that they hoped Bush would win in 2004, so if you’re going to bring this crap up, bring up the fact that our number one enemy supports the president. If that doesn’t matter, than neither does anything Hamas says about Obama.

  5. katy Says:

here it is! i knew i’d seen it, then it went away, and now it’s back…

and i still haven’t recalled where i read yesterday about, was it an alqaida leader?, who is hoping for a mcCRAZY presidency…

gee… i wonder if a guy named BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA had any idea that these
kinds of attacks would rain down on him and his parade, on the road to change…

it’s gonna be very hard to maintain the high road with these sick characters…
if anyone can, it’s BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA…

at least it’s more educational that bj’s and blue dresses… and cackling… etc…

  6. gummitch Says:

Interesting, because Ahmadinejad may not be around for a chat much longer. He’s taking a lot of heat for his crappy economic policies.

Although the two factions shared many candidates, the “Broad” grouping was less enthusiastic about the president and backed by more moderate conservative grandees who may challenge him in 2009 presidential elections.

Ahmadinejad will go into that election against a background of discontent over high inflation, and his toughest competition is expected to come from more moderate fellow conservatives.

One possible rival, powerful parliament speaker Gholam Ali Hadad Adel, has been locked in a very public row with the president over implementing past legislation.

Seemingly unafraid to make powerful enemies, Ahmadinejad has also launched a salvo of attacks in recent weeks against political rivals whom he accused of forming networks of political and economic corruption.

He also sacked his economy minister, who bit back with a withering tirade against the president’s economic policies. The interior minister is the next to be sacked, officials say, just days after he organised the election.

The highly respected judiciary chief Ayatollah Mahmoud Hashemi Shahroudi accused Ahmadinejad of “exaggeration, unrealistic campaigning and sloganeering” in his latest speeches, reports said on Saturday.

  7. Ms_Joanne Says:

Why isn’t anyone asking why these folks are so intimate with the islamofascists that they know all their thoughts? Could any Americans who believe this be any stupider?

  8. cavjam Says:

“the Mullahs in Tehran” want the Democrats to win.

I seem to have missed “the Mullahs” endorsement.

Of course, if “the Mullahs” did endorse someone, it would mean they want that person’s opponent to win. You see, the Persians ain’t stoopid, unlike the Goopers and their ovine herd.

  9. AngryAfrican Says:

I bet you Al-Qaeda will endorse Obama if they could make another video from a cave somewhere in “allied” Pakistan. Because they know how to use reverse psychology (you idiot, McCain). How do you get your enemy to do what you want them to do? Tell them the opposite. Want war? Then endorse the one guy from the “enemy” who wants peace. McDrain and the gang please note - Hamas is playing you like a little toy drum. And you are walking to their beat. McPain should wake up and think a little bit more. Think. Think. What do Al-Qaeda want? What do you think Hamas want? Chaos so they can recruit more. Anarchy so they can continue a mindless war. They want one thing and will tell you the opposite. You think you can trust what they tell you? They are playing you for a fool. You played into their hands in Iraq. And you are going to play into their hands again. You stupid, stupid man. http://angryafrican.net/ 2008/ 04/ 26/ i-angry-african-endorse-mccain/

  10. geoffdmiller Says:

It seems pretty clear to me that if groups like al Qaeda, Hezbollah and Hamas have done pretty well under the current administration. They deal with such group on the fringes with force rather than at their center there heart. McCain’s (McSame) would continue that. Groups like these are very media savvy. They know what makes American politics tick. It’s reverse psychology.

The story here is not who these groups ‘endorse’ but what American political players are willing to give them a vote. In this case it is McCain and Romney.

Romey who? Anyway… out of the thread but on the subject of MacCocaine and Iraq:

“It’s clear that the end is very much in sight…It won’t be long. It, it’ll be a fairly short period of time.”
    John McCain, April 9, 2003.

“Well, then why was there a banner that said mission accomplished on the aircraft carrier?”
John McCain, responding to assertion by Fox News’ Neil Cavuto that “many argue the conflict isn’t over,” June 11, 2003.

“I have said a long time that reconstruction of Iraq would be a long, long, difficult process, but the conflict — the major conflict is over, the regime change has been accomplished, and it’s very appropriate.”
    John McCain, June 11, 2003.

“I’m confident we’re on the right course.”
    John McCain, March 7, 2004.

“We’re either going to lose this thing or win this thing within the next several months.”
    John McCain, November 12, 2006.

“My friends, the war will be over soon, the war for all intents and purposes although the insurgency will go on for years and years and years.”

Given such “logic”, these so-called “patriots” must surely have demanded Reagan’s impeachment when he committed the unforgivable sin of meeting with Mikhail Gorbachev in the 1980s?

And for a more recent example, where was their outcry when Rumsfeld was nominated to be the Secretary of Defense? After all, he shook hands with Saddam Hussein in 1983, at the same time that teh Iraqi army was gassing Iranian soldiers, while the United States supported his efforts. Nearly half the voters chose an utter moron to be Preznit; not once, but twice. I’d say there’s ample evidence that a significant number of Americans are morons.

  19. Gregor Samsa Says:

McCain, Romney, etc seem to know a lot about what AlQaeda wants to see as the outcome of the election.

I wonder how they came across that sensitive information and whether they are ripe for a visit from the FBI to disclose their sources.

Are they talking to terrorists? Why do they hate America?

    /sarc off

  20. JBaddo Says:

#18 that a significant number of Americans are morons

so true….And who are these private enterprises that continue to endorse the likes of Limbaugh? Im all for free speech for him but more for common sense. Coomon sense and practical thinking is out the window

  21. curmudgeon Says:

“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God.” — Matthew 5:9

“You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that? And if you greet only your brothers, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that? Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.” — Matthew 5:38-44

Oh, yes, that would be Jesus Christ.

Can you imagine what McCain, Romney and their disciples would be saying about Jesus if he was running for President?

Actually, what he said about a significant number of morons is absolutely correct, and most of them support the Republican Party (because they are conservative). There is nothing new to this observation.

  32. thirdparty Says:

So is Ahmed Yousef’s endorsement, using “we” as in “Hamas,” irrelevant to the campaign? I certainly know may supporters of Israel who find it relevant. Perhaps if this were a false attack we should condemn it, but I’m not sure here; if you put the “endorsement” in the proper context, I think it can be fairly discussed.

  33. Gregor Samsa Says:

Of course, rightwingers have nothing to say about the transparent fearmongering spewed by the likes of Limbaugh, McCain, Romney, etc.

In their minds, anyone demanding accountability is a “spoiled child” -never mind that, in their quest for an authoritarian father figure, they never fail to support George Bush and his failed presidency.

It’s amazing how much irony can fit in a rightwinger’s pointy teeny tiny little head, and how unaware they are of it.

  34. freedom lover Says:

  36. Marie Says:

Keep up that all war all the time talk McCain and see how low your favorability range can go.
Fear-mongering, confrontation, belligerence, saber-rattling, threats, and so forth — all reasons why you will never succeed in your bid for the presidency.

  37. Marie Says:

I also join with those who say that a Hamas “endorsement” of a candidate means they actually want the opposite person.
McCain and Romney think they know the mind of Hamas — but they’d never pass psychology 101.

  41. dbadass Says:

    Hi Winghunter:
You still hanging around? Wanna talk more silly talk? I love that sort of thing. Black and white thinkers are my favorite

  42. Gregor Samsa Says:

To the clueless rightwingers in this thread:
    a) this is the US, not Israel,
    b) Hamas holds seats in the Palestinian parliament; whoever is the next president of the US will have to talk to Hamas, like it or not,
    c) you made up your mind about Obama, based on what someone you hadn’t heard of until today said of him? I truly feel sorry for you.

  43. Gregor Samsa Says:

Based on McCain’s comments (and Limbaugh’s, and Romney’s, and the trolls in this thread), we can confidently say that it is the rightwingers who are more than willing to let Islamic extremists decide the outcome of the elections in the US.

As a matter of fact, not only are they going to let it happen, they are gleefully working towards making it a reality.

    Why do reichwingers hate America?

    /sarc off

  44. Shayne Says:

Why isn’t Romney spending time down in Texas working on the polygamist debacle. There’s a situation he might have some understanding of. How many mothers do you think his five sons really have?

  45. galmud Says:

Well Romney might be right. Obama is smart enough to realize you have to talk to your enemies. Isolation, sanctions, military force just makes things worse, as evident by the catastrophic treatments of Iraq and Palestine

Obama might not change much in US Israel-policy, but Hamas possibly recognizes Obama as the least bad candidate for their people. Because situation for the Palestinians will certainly deteriorate if Hillary “I strongly support the apartheid-wall” Clinton or John “I’m honored by endorsement of CUFI-pastor Hagee” McCain is elected.

Of course Romney doesnt give a rats ass about the oppressed Palestinians. He just wants to smear Obama saying hes dangerous because he considers talking to “evil people”

“At the core of liberalism is the spoiled child - miserable, as all spoiled children are, unsatisfied, demanding, ill disciplined, despotic, and useless. Liberalism is the philosophy of sniveling brats.” - P.J. O’Rourke

Liberalism-a political or social philosophy advocating the freedom of the individual, parliamentary systems of government, nonviolent modification of political, social, or economic institutions to assure unrestricted development in all spheres of human endeavor, and governmental guarantees of individual rights and civil liberties.

There is the definition of Liberalism. Nowhere does is say anything about sniveling brats. What is does say however is that Liberalism allows Freedom, Nonviolence, Civil Liberties and Unrestricted development. It is ironic you would make that particular comparison. Since you have had the freedom of unrestricted development obviously; you are condemning something you have been enjoying your whole life.

And who is the sniveling brat again?????

  48. DallasNE Says:

Look at that. The questioner accepts that Hamas has “endorsed” Obama. What connection to the McCain campaign does this questioner have? This is typical right wing yellow journalism. And if the campaign is this uncivil by the Republicans in April, what will it look like in October. Limbaugh has already called for riots in Denver this summer. Where is the backlash to this hate? Are there no good Republicans left?
